You should also consider putting on larger tail pipe tips. Not so much for looks. They add a hollow deep sound to the Flow master mufflers. I already had dual exhaust dumping out behind each rear tire on my 1999 Yukon Denali 5.7 liter. I added 4" angle cut tips really for looks but was really surprised with the sound. Could be a new segment with all the different sizes and shapes
So I finally installed mine today on my 2002 z71. Stock cats just like you. I'm happy. Wish it was a little louder. Hoping it'll get louder in a couple weeks like you experienced. Thanks for the video man.
You might want to check the drone in the cab from the passenger seat or back seat. My brother had a flowmaster on his chevy that was ok from the drivers side but terrible in cab from anywhere else. I personally like my heartthrob muffler the best. Heartthrob has everything from glass packs to performance mufflers.
I've always found the drone to be the worst when I straight piped vehicles. Better with a flow master, even better with magnaflow!! As a side note, that intro was fire!
My Sierra is a 2001 two-wheel drive with the 5.3l V8 285 horsepower Plus I did a bulldog tune to her last summer and the dino is saying it's cranking out 367 horsepower
Alright so you seem to be the most thorough muffler tester I can find. I’ve got a ‘91 Toyota Land Cruiser I’m doing an engine swap in and I’m looking for a good muffler. Back with the 4.0 I6 I used to run a glass pack that side dumped right behind the rear driver door. The sound was meh but on the highway it was fine and not too droney. Well now I’m dropping a 350 sbc in and need a good muffler. I really want a good rich sound that is fairly loud (I’m not tooooo concerned about the volume level) but it will also be my daily and rock crawler so I like a little sensibility. What I also need is enough space to route between my frame rail, body and soon to be rock sliders, so I need a fairly small muffler to fit that space. I like the super 10 as it seems to match all of that but was wondering if I could get your take on it
Check out the Cherry Bomb m80 (chambered sound in a round body) or the flowmaster flow fx. Both are cylindrical like a glasspack but offer different sound.
@@allthingsoutdoors3166 I've run the 30in and now the 8in. I like them both a lot. The 8in is rowdy on cold start, but it's honestly not too bad as a daily driver! The truck still has the catalytic converters on it still, so that helps it not be obnoxiously loud.
Big fan here, enjoy your comedy and content. 1)Which is louder? the M80 Cherrybomb, or the Flowmaster Super 10? 2)Which is lower tone and more rumblier ? I used to be under the impression that the Cherry Bomb Extreme and the Flowmaster Super 10 would sound very similar.... not so sure anymore

Have one question why have a garage if you can't put your cars in it or even work on a car in it do you have room for a pole barn or do you have a pole barn? 🤔
As far as the drone... did your stock exhaust have a resonator? My stock setup had 2 resonators... I replaced them with M80s... then I deleted the mufflers and woah I know what drone is. I then added 1 resonator back, upstream, and it's quieted down while still hearing the exhaust. Now I want Super 10s instead of the M80s. I thought they'd be similar being hollow inside and having a baffle inside. Nope. Flowmasters definitely turn up the bass and have a resonant boom that I enjoy.
How was the drone noise was it tolerable because I just got a super 10 added on to my Sierra but I had it added on with a dual exhaust setup the truck just got done yesterday and I'm picking it up within the next day or two
At about 1700 RPM it's pretty droney. The dual tailpipes may help to reduce that. Of all the mufflers I've had, the Super 10 is towards the top of the list of drone loudness. Again, could be because mine is a single pipe set up.
@@TheDaninator oh great I spent $650 on this exhaust system that's everything all together installed and for parts and labor well if it's too droney I'll be taking that super 10 off and putting something else on

It was pretty cut and dry man. If you've got a sawzall and a little can do attitude it's a very easy job. @@ALiEIV I had actually found out my cylinder heads were cracked shortly after I wrote this comment so I put new heads on it and I got a btr truck norris cam for and some long tube headers
On certain exhaust there's resonators that are attached with the tailpipe they're just a little bulgier they kind of look like a cherry bomb but only like 4 in Long and you put them toward the end of your tailpipe it takes the Drone out you'll find them on a lot of stock exhaust if you just cut it and keep all that you see you can apply them to your own exhaust and I'll take the Drone right out
I can’t wait for you to cut the catalytic converters off this one, that’s always the way to go, especially for how much money you can cash in on em right now.
I know they are expensive, but if you get the chance maybe checkout the Borla ATAK Cratemuffler. Anyways, thank you for the muffler videos as always, it was cool to see the Super 10. 👍
I've had the super 10 on various vehicles before. I had it on my 2000 civic ex coupe with a full exhaust. Had 2.5 inch header, high flow cat, ultra quiet resonator, and a super 10 with 4 inch tip. The drone at 50 MPH was really loud. Had it on my 2007 civic si sedan. Not bad on drone but, it was very loud. And, I had it on my 96 jeep zj with the 5.2 magnum. “You know I gotta do it.” Amen. Every time I take my cat back section out for whatever reason, I definitely do it.
Its mandatory to start it up when you take the muffler off lol 😂I like the sound of that super 10
I say no muffler and straight pipe it, although you might like the magna flow rumble mufflers.
