- This video compares the exhaust sound of the Cherry Bomb Extreme and the Flowmaster Super 10 on my Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks with the 5.3L LM7 V8 motor. I do a series of accelerations and decelerations to generate the wonderful v8 exhaust tones from these mufflers. Let me know in the comment section below which mufflers sounded better to you.

Man those Super 10 pops and cracks sound so good
I'd say the Flowmaster has a "lower" sounding tone to it. The Cherrybomb more "high" pitched. Subjective opinion.
Extreme was definitely louder. Given a choice though, I’d pick the flow master.
Both sound good. I like the deeper bass of the Super 10, personally. Funny thing, my wife also suggested putting in my ear buds!😁

Súper 10s for the deceleration pops and deeper tone.
My son had a Super 10 on his 2001 Silverado 5.3 and it sounded great at idle, but was just too loud in the cabin to talk or listen to the radio. If you are married, that could be a plus though. We replaced it with a Hush Trush and it still has a throaty sound but has much less interior drone.
I agree, the super 10 is bad in the interior drone department

Flow master and Cherry bomb both do nothing for performance, just a sound, there are videos to show this on a dyno.

I've always been a fan of Cherry Bomb mufflers. Flowmasters really don't flow all that well and have a tinny, empty trashcan sound.
The super 10 sounds better. It has a deeper throaty and flowing sound. As for the cherry bomb sounds raspy and chattery.
they look very simular. I like the flowmaster
To anybody that has a V6 and can't get it quite the way they wanted to sound with a lower grumble try the Flowmaster 40 I've done the 44 I've done the super tens I've done it all just like this guy but for my v6s I cannot believe the Flowmaster 40 makes it sound that good that's just my opinion but you do not get the rice or sound you'll get like a more of a lower Grumble throaty sound from your V6
Have Flowmaster 40s on my V6 taurus. I'm always getting asked what I have that sounds so good.

They Definitely sound different and the Super 10.sounds better. A little more Bass. The Extreme has some almost annoying highs.
Have you ever thought about testing any Walker Ultra-Flo Mufflers. I may be a little partial as they are made near me. They claim to have the same flow as basically a straight pipe. The one on my Jeep was pretty quiet though.
I’ll take a look at the walker ultra-flo. I’m always open to different brands.
The Flowmaster has deeper throaty lurk lurk lurking sound to it that makes the Flowmaster come out on top with sound but the cherry bomb aint bad at all for a discount muffler....but i gotta ask can you do a video on the black widow Venom muffler .....Thanx.
Super 10 sound meaner. The Cherry bomb has no bass. Some people like the raspy sound I like the bass sound better.

Flowmaster sounds better. More bass, and still tinge of that classic Flowmaster sound. I think the 🍒 bomb sounds a little better at regular idle though. Under acceleration the cherry sounds raspy and seems to crackle a little bit. If I were to buy I’d spend the little extra money on the Flowmaster. Great video Dan 👍

Lower Rpm definitely the cherry bomb but at higher Rpm the Super 10. Although without cats probably the Super 10. I know that its probably not intended but I wonder how much would change if the mufflers were reversed, might sound horrible though I don't know.

I think the Super 10 sounds better in my opinion…..sounds like a better muffler for a daily driver if you have stock catalytic converters on your truck still lol

I plan on installing a Cherry Bomb Extreme Muffler and cut my Cat and resonator and straight pipe my 2003 Dodge Stratus SXT. Thanks for the video definitely made my decision the Extreme sounds Awesome!

There is a difference. Extreme sounded more raw. Flowmaster was deeper, bassier, and throatier. As for the different plates. Flowmaster has the delta flow. Which is suppose to offer better scavenging plus drone reduction. Extreme has an offset wing design. Its supposed to give a high and low pressure to give a better flow. I've ran both, both are just fine. I prefer the Flowmaster. Granted its more pricey but, I think the quality is worth it over the budget brands.
Good take. In my experience the flowmaster is bad with interior drone. Pretty loud.
