I think I like the pro series the most. It provides the bite and throat, but without causing half the neighborhood to hate your guts. I find it suits my taste the most, as it provides a clean sound, without an overbearing sense of power.
Most complete and beneficial video i have seen from Flowmaster. It is very difficult and time consuming soliciting my customers on their best choice in your hundreds of part numbers. Big 3" single. Flowmaster 2 into 1 merge, Flowmaster Pro straight thru muffler, with a Flowmaster Super 10 as a resonator. 88-95 GM TBI cars and trucks respond real well to delete Y pipe and period cat. Replace cat with modern hiflow or not. This mods good for + 10 to 20 whp at any rpm and +1 to 1.5mpg at the pump. Sounds great!
Had a SUPER 44 installed on my 2018 TAHOE 5.3......Sounds F*****G SWEET!!!!! The 8-4 cut in used to just activate on the freeway in 6th gear....after the STOCK crap removed and the new pipes installed, the 8-4 activates in town now as well. The engine likes the change!
ive got a stock 4.7 in my jeep. ive got the super 44 on it. sounds really awesome. i just went here on youtube and typed in my type of engine and vehicle as close as possible. and listened to all different brands and models. i doubt that you could go wrong with a super 44.

I have a small 3.8 naturally aspirated Mustang modified and dyno tuned. Ceramic longtube headers, stainless steel ProChamber mid-pipe, a set of Flowmaster 10 Series mufflers, followed by tailpipes & 3.5" Borla oval tips. Great sound.
I have a new 2015 Dodge Charger RT and installed the Delta Flow 40 series w resonator delete. Sounds awesome for a Father with 3 kids. Aggressive sound on startup, low idle and heavy gas, but very, very mellow when cruising at street or hwy speeds. No drone when cruising, highly recommend for someone that wants muscle sound, but no drone when cruising.
Very informative vid! I installed the Flowmaster 44's on a 2015 Chrysler 300s HEMI. The sound was amazing. But you are so correct, each engine will put out a different sound. Mine was not as loud as the 44's installed in this video.
Ed White but it still sounds amazing right because I am deciding if I want to purchase them because right now I have the outlaw but they are obnoxious with the drone levels
The Outlaw Race Muffler is our most aggressive replacement muffler, originally designed as a muffler for the track. You can try adding a resonator into the system to help lessen the drone. But, as aggressive as the Outlaw is you may want to consider going down a bit to the Super 44 or even the Super 40. You can always ring us at 707-544-4761 for more muffler recommendations. - Jason @ Flowmaster
@@jessepalmer3165 Yes, it still sounded amazing. I've since sold the 300 but have plans to purchase the same car just newer model. I will be making the same exact mod on the new one. Thanks.
I just put on a Flowmaster FlowFX axel back system on my 2018 Ford Mustang EcoBoost. I also have your Scavenger Series Resonator Delete Y-pipe. What an awesome, low toned sound! It's exactly what I was looking for.
Flowmaster is the best in the business as far as im concerned, I've had them on all three of my cars that ive had so far (jeep 4.0, ford 5.0, and vw 1.8t) they've all sounded awesome and never rusted. Unlike some competitors I've seen hehe.
I have the super 40 on my Dodge Magnum SRT8, it sounds great. I have the super 44s on my Ford Raptor 6.2L SVT. That thing roars at 5k rpm. I also put a Flowmaster 40 on my wife's Jeep Sahara Altitude 6 cylinder and it is throatier than before......gotta love Flowmaster.
love it my 76 Chevy C10 short box 454 is currently in the shop being COMPLETELY rebuilt. Pushing close to 750hp when done with the BM roller rocker with gear drive. Already have custom headers. But with 3" pipe to flowmaster super 10's straight out the back. We are guessing it will be close to 100-110db. Ya, im old. I WANT you to hear me coming lol
After watching this a year ago I chose the 40 series for my 2001 Lincoln Continental sounds so beautiful btw did I mentioned it turned my car to a hotrod definitely made it a sleeper
I'm running the super 10's with mid muffler delete. Sounds like a beast. I do recommend cold air intake to really get all the exhaust notes and little more hp.
That's one beautiful challenger right there man. It sounds muscular and looks muscular as well. Richard Hammond would love to drive that 74 challenger especially one with a 550 HP 408 Stroker.
I was about to give you guys a hard time about babying that Challenger, but while I was typing I heard you finally let her loose at the end of the video :)
i have a 2013 challenger rt with a 6 speed manual. i put in the super 10's with 2.5 inch piping all the way through to the tips from the exhaust mufflers, and it sounds amazing.
another option you have instead of buying stainless, is spray painting the muffler with ultra high heat flat black rustoleum. it seems to work pretty well.
Original 40 series is loud. I have a ram 1500 hemi 2013 and that thing loud. Not crazy but perfect. No noise in the cabin, but a nice low end beefy sound in low RPMS and the. Calms down in the high Rpms on the freeway. Get the 40 if you need it louder remove the resonator
One of the tricks I use to get decent sound with a stock engine especially with a four cylinder. And it’s not terribly expensive. Cat back upgrade. 1) Pipe. Increases 1/4 inch for every 2 inch diameter. This also allows for a higher flowing cat so you are still smog compliant. Push the muffler as far back as the frame ground clearance and mechanicals will allow just before or after the rear axle is preferred. . 2) Muffler upgrade. Same inlet and outlet size upgrade. Turbo mufflers work well shorten and skinny them down by 25% from stock. Makes for decent tone and reasonable expense. If the outlet is bigger than the outlet you should be good. 3) Adding a glass pack between the cat and muffler can adjust the sound as well. Upsizing the tail pipe helps. However it depends on the car so let your ears and wallet decide.
I had a set of Purple Horny mufflers on my slightly modified 390 FE block in my 72 Ford pickup, and they were pretty damned loud. I like the sound of the Flowmasters, not too loud, but have a damn nice rumble, especially on a modified engine.
went crazy trying to figure out what to put on my 2014 mustang GT. had it for over a year with factory mufflers. got tired of it being too quiet. finally went with the super 44. has a lot of interior drone at 70 mph. i had to get used to turning my stereo up but im good now. a friend that i didnt tell i put flowmasters on it heard me leave when he was outside one day. when i came back he told me how good it sounded and he didnt realize the factory mufflers sounded like that lol. i told him i put the super 44's on it. he was impressed. told me dont change a thing. i have the factory duals on it and since he said that ill leave it dual and not put an H-pipe on it. save the money lol.
I have the original 40 series on my 305 Chevy and its decently loud. I really like the way the hushpower shorty series sound on my friends 4.6 f150 with turn downs.
This was great to get an idea on the differences. I still can't make up my mind between the super 10 and the super 44. I want volume outside, but less drone inside at highway speeds, so it's probably looking like the super 44. But the sound of the 10, it's actually better than just straight pipe. So hard to choose.
I rather heard them all on a car with a manual gearbox so you could hear each silencer through the entire rpm range But great initiative for a video of these producrs though!
Why did they skip the decibel readings as they got into the 40's? Also, why not show the decibel reading at wide open throttle? I have a 98 db limit at my track, so knowing the difference between the various mufflers at WOT would have been helpful.
i drive a 1975 chevy luv with the original 1.8 motor. i have custom dual exhaust side pipes and it roars, let me tell ya. its fun when i drive to school but it absolutely sucks when i drive long distance. the noise will kill ya and you can't listen to the radio. in all honesty, i think everyone should keep the quiet stock exhaust but get whats called exhaust cutouts. that way you can be loud when you want and quiet when you want.
I have been going back and forth on which muffler to get for a while. Either the Super 44 or the Original 40 both single in and dual out for my 2014 F-150. I have saw two different comparisons from flowmaster inc I believe that conflict. When running this on my 5.0 F-150, which is truly louder? I get louder isn’t always better but I just like being able to hear the rumble when started a ways away. I want to hear it rumble while it’s outside warming up haha.
would it be possible to have somewhat of a "double muffler" system with a quieter one for day by day, but being able to switch on on the fly to the super 10 when I want my neighbours to hate me?
Yes, it is. Try doing a Google search for "exhaust cut-outs". These are open on the fly systems that allow the user to open up the exhaust system and "dump" the exhaust noise and gases out prior to reaching the muffler. You can also have an exhaust professional mount a more aggressive muffler to the cut-out, rather than running straight to the atmosphere. Ive got 10s on my 86 fox, sounds wicked when your on it but at cruize speed you cant hear your self think. I was thinking of wraping them with some header wrap, think it would help with the inside noise?

The muffler was rusted out on my 04 chevy trailblazer with the 4.2 inline 6. So reading around a lot of people recommended the super 44 (some trailblazer and some with other brand vehicles). I got one and had it welded in with the stock can resonator in the back and it was not loud at all. So I cut the resonator off and put a piece of straight pipe in place and that fucker is loud! Not annoying loud but just louder than I wanted. A lot of people said this muffler was quiet. Now I wish I went 50 series. But the muffler sounds good on the big inline 6 and has a low tone to it for it not being a v8. I will definitely buy another flowmaster muffler.
what kind of resonator was on your car? Was it a box style or like a straight through? I personally got a super 44 and its very quite. Think of the sound of a stock grand prix. Very quiet. I was gonna remove my resonator in a couple days.
shak541 The Chevy Trailblazer has a huge mid section muffler and a little can style resonator at the back. My huge mid section muffler needed replaced to I had a super 44 put in place. With the resonator still on in the back it was a little quiet so I cut it off and welded in a piece of straight pipe and that made it excessively loud but I'll deal with it and I am growing more fond of the sound. Hope this helps with your grand prix.
I do not have a video similar to the one here that uses a 2007 Mustang as the "tester" car. However, we do offer a number of Cat-back and Axle-back Exhaust options for the 2007 Mustang. You didn't give me any detail on which engine option for the Mustang you preferred, so below I added some links to all 2007 Mustang Cat-back and Axle-back options. Once you find the one that suits you best give us a call at 707-544-4761 and let us know the part number.
However it depends on the car so let your ears and wallet decide.

wow thats a nice sounding muffler
Think I'm going with the super 44 for my 2002 Camaro 3.8! Any other Suggestions?
glass-packs are basically just straight pipes with sound deadening wrapped around them, they will out perform pretty much all other mufflers.
I had the Super 10 w/ dual out the back on my V6 4.0L Ranger. Best sounding V6 I have ever heard was my truck, I miss that thing.

So if u have a 4 cylinder, go for the agressive muffler to even hear your engine.. and if you have a 500hp muscle car, go for the most silent one.. :P

Hope this helps with your grand prix.
thanks. my car is the intrigue but sounds like a grand prix stock exhaust. I shall upload videos soon to see before and after myself too
Flowmaster Inc. Do you have a video using a 2007 Mustang GT?
I do not have a video similar to the one here that uses a 2007 Mustang as the "tester" car. However, we do offer a number of Cat-back and Axle-back Exhaust options for the 2007 Mustang. You didn't give me any detail on which engine option for the Mustang you preferred, so below I added some links to all 2007 Mustang Cat-back and Axle-back options. Once you find the one that suits you best give us a call at 707-544-4761 and let us know the part number. We can then recommend the same muffler that was used in the video/system for you.
