FAQ:
Who is this lady?
Gina Petitti was born in 1935 in Faeto, Italy. It is in the province of Foggia in the Puglia region of southeast Italy. Her family ran a farm in Italy and she met her husband, Vito, in the same town. In 1970 Gina, Vito, and her 4 children immigrated to America. Gina’s husband passed away in 2012, but she is surrounded by a large family, which includes 9 grandchildren, and lives 5 minutes away from her eldest daughter in New Jersey. Gina enjoys making food for her family in the same old fashion ways as she was taught by her mother and grandmother in Italy, and also new things she has subsequently learned from family and friends in America. She also enjoys gardening, and being an active member of her local Church.
Where does Gina get her recipes?
Most of these recipes are from what she learned growing up in Italy, but some of them have evolved over time. She has also learned new recipes from friends and family in America. She is always eager to try new things.
Why is no one helping her in the video?
Grandma Gina doesn’t want help! Usually, it’s because we will slow her down or not do it “her way.” For the videos we only show her, but when the camera cuts we jump in and help form the cookies or prep for the next step.
Why don’t we buy her a new...?
Grandma Gina has a closet and garage full of new gadgets, spoons, forks, pots, etc… but she doesn’t like them because she is used to doing it with her old tools. She has fun getting her hands dirty!
Who is behind the camera and behind the scenes?
Grandma Gina’s retired son-in-law, Nick, does the filming, editing, production, and channel management. Her daughter, Maria, helps with food preparation, kitchen setup and fan support. Also, Grandma Gina usually has one or two grand-kids in the kitchen to help.
Does Gina read the comments?
We print out and show her how much love she gets from all her viewers, and she is very thankful and hopes you enjoy her cooking! Your comments bring her lots of joy, laughter, and inspiration to make more videos to share with you.
Thank you for watching, we hope you subscribe, and we will see you in our next video! - Навчання та стиль
BEST cooking video I've ever watched. It's like being with your mother in her kitchen. She's not trying to make a video... she's just sharing her world. The love that she puts into her focaccia is Hallelujah! I don't care how long the video is... 26 minutes... I want to be in her kitchen every day. "Thats a nica color".. and her song is the best of the best. Whomever you are that are the videographers (of your mother or grandmother) You are AWESOME... that you let her do her thing and didn't interrupt her at all - it makes the process PURE AND NATURAL. Amore.
God bless you Gina. I love your spirit and your recipes. Thank you. 💓
Gina, I'm so grateful for your channel for 2 reasons. One mostly for my mother who is 84 and watches your show and it keeps her company through this pandemic. We sometimes sit together and watch you, and talk about how much we love everything you make! I watch you as well on my own you make me smile, I love your spirit and your sweet gentile kindness comes through in every show. I especially love when you sing, it reminds me of my father who passed away. He loved to sing every chance he had. Thank you so much and your are doing a wonderful job. One day hopefully my mom would love to meet you. It would blow her mind if you said hi to her in one of your episodes, her name is Antonietta from Clayton, NC. God bless you and your family xoxox!
She might also enjoy the Pasta Grannies series.
Maria Latona, please send me your mom's information I will surprise her with a phone call. Thank you for watching, God bless!

@@nonenoneonenonenone Thank you, I will!
@@BuonAPetitti, thank you so much for your kindness. Your response has brought me to tears. She will be beside herself!
Ciao Gina
My family is from Italy and immigrated to Canada after the war. I was born here in Canada. Must say that I have tried many focaccia recipes and all of them good, very good actually but yours is my favorite by far. I have made it several times now and each time it comes out wonderful. My parents who are now 92 and 98 years old enjoy yours the most. God bless you and your family and thank you very much for sharing these wonderful recipes.
I love everything about this video. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom, your stories, your songs, and your love for good Italian food. Bless you Grandma Gina! 🇮🇹 💚🤍❤️
I love you Gina , I always wait for your videos . This woman is so beautiful , her family is lucky to have her ❤️
All of you who thumbs down, what is your problem? If you do not like, you do not need to look. I think you're mean. Do something positive. Do not spread negativity around you. Gina is a person who is so full of love and kindness. She deserves nothing but thumbs up!
Honestly some people see beauty in nothing love you mam.Italians are lovely in all ways beauty, culture, food everything thumbs up ...........
Thank you for putting those disrespectful people in their place!
Don't pay attention to these with the thumbs down. They don't mean it. They are bored and have no life and want a reaction which they get from people who comment about them. They don't give or take anything away. Surely Gina and the family understand that or she would not be on social media. I love her and I've learned a lot from her. She is very warm and loving. I relax watching her cooking and singing. So happy her family put her on UA-cam.
Most of the dislikes from youtube itself...

Grandma Gina is a treasure! How lucky would we all be to have a wonderful person like her in all our lives! March 23,2023
I made this and my friends are still talking about it. Wonderful recipe, wonderful person.
For 26 minutes I couldn't stop smiling while watching 😍.
LEGEND NONNA GINA 😘
She does the same for me.
Thank you Nonna Gina for the great Focaccia recipe & the beautiful song Oh Marie. I can’t wait to make this.
OMG! Her father sang when he saw the beautiful focaccia!! She thinks of him all the time...I think about my Italian father too, and miss him dearly!! He loved to make bread. This simple act of cooking for family is pure love and what the world is missing today!
I made this Gina, for the first time in my life! And I am 76!! It was fantastic!! So so delicious!! Thank you so very much for sharing your love of cooking with us!! God bless you!!💖
Thank You Italian Grandma it looks delicious. GOD Bless You 💞
Oh Gina, singing to your beautiful focaccia bread is my favorite part of the recipe!
this is what I call Master chef. Professional grandmas teaching us genuine recipes. No fuss ingredients.. Thank you Gina, love your recipes and instructions. What a beautiful voice you have. Your singing made very emotional.
Ciao Miss Gina. I am a 70 year old African American man with a love and passion for cooking/baking. I have recently developed a love of Italian/Sicilian cuisine and have been following several channels but always find myself coming back to Buon-A-Petitti to see how you would prepare it. I enjoy how you treasure and share your connection to your parents/grandparents and delight in the stories you often tell. Please don't stop singing, the joy you express is contagious!
Singing in remembrance of her father and how happy he was, choked me up so bad. When a father is happy and proud of his children it really is a magical moment.
Nonna Gina, your childhood was a precious one, thank you so much for sharing part of your world with the rest of us. My heart goes out to you and your family from the UK!
It's makes me cry as my father was a mean mean man. Alcoholicand only cared about beating us with a belt, etc.
@@brenda50ism I'm so sorry to hear that. I didn't exactly go through a happy childhood either. My parents thought hitting was discipline especially my dad.
I hope you have found time to heal and focus on yourself.
Parents like that aren't what shape you, but your own heart and intentions.
What a joy to see the love in Gina’s eyes when she speaks about her mama and papa
I love that beautiful women. I was born in Calabria and identity with her traditions. She exudes love of family
She is so sweet , love u
She is such a delightful person to watch and a wonderful cook. A lucky family to have her, God bless her
When I was young my family moved to a small suburban neighborhood. Lots of new friends & cultures! One family was Italian, Neapolitano. Their nana lived a short way aways from us (in little Italy). All day Saturday she shopped & cooked. Sunday her son-in- law went to her place & brought her and all the delicious food to her daughter’s home. After church we always went to see what Momma Icano made for us! All day the food was on the table & anyone who came ate! Her granddaughters had no interest in cooking, but I did, so she taught me a few things. I love your voice & accent & food. It brought me right back to my childhood! I love it so much, all those wonderful times. Gracias!
You are such a joy Gina - not only to listen to you sing but to watch you lovingly make things you made when growing up and remembering your family - I wish you could adopt me! 😊
"When the Moon hit your eye like a big focaccia pie, that's amore!"
I love watching Gina because she reminds me of my calabrese Mother, who is no longer with me!
To witness and experience pure human JOY is a gift you just can't measure. All you really know is that it will last...and last...and last.
When she realized she forgot to pray...Awesome!!!!
At the end when she said I love you all I just couldn't hold back and cried like a baby....
I am so grateful for you all
God Bless You
For those in this time of crisis, who desperately need the warmth and affection of an ethnic grandma.❤️
💯❤️
In times when I'm in a crisis or my back is against the wall I head for the kitchen and cook for others. It jump starts my positive energy flow and soon I get the answers I need to get over whatever obstacle had me stymied. For me it's cooking, for others it might be something else. I find great energy in feeding people. I have no family so I feed my neighbors and coworkers.
❤❤❤ italian grandma!!

Thank you Grandma! Your the best!!! xoxoxo 😘
Who els loves how she says Olive Olio 😊
She’s beautiful and perfect! I can’t wait to try this recipe. Thank you Gina you are a gift from God.
I think everyone should have a Italian grandma....
I love how Gina uses the simplest tools to cook, like the fork and bowl to mash the potatoes. Nothing fancy, just like my Grandma in the 1950s. No need to buy fancy or expensive appliances. You’re amazing Gina!
Is it possible to show pictures of Gina's mother and father and all the other people she talks about in her stories? We love you, Nonna Gina. 💟 💟 💟
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe even ask her questions about her memories.
Usually when I see a long video I just skip it, but with you Madame it’s time well spent. I encourage you to keep up your good work. You remind me of my own grandmother. God bless you both.
Same here, Nonna Gina's videos are a delight to watch. Time well spent
you feel sad or depressed watch grandma cooking ,bless her heart and her
My mum cried when watching this video seeing how you think of your father all the time, beautiful memories and connection with food ❤ God bless you too 🙏
From a French woman to an Italian woman. I love you and thank you Gina! God bless you! Arrivederci!
I am an author of fiction and am in the process of writing a new cozy mystery. I've been watching cooking shows on UA-cam to get ideas for character development of the "cook" in the mystery. In you, dear Gina, I found the perfect character for the cook. Thank you for warming my heart and giving me hope in the human race.
I wish she was my nonna. She’s so sweet.

by far this is the best Focaccia recipe on youtube always comes out perfect and delicious
Ms. Gina, You are an angel in this hard world. Long may you wave. Thank you.
Thank you, Gina for sharing the recipe and the love you send with your cooking. I look forward to watching your videos. It is obvious you enjoy life. The world needs more Ginas.
This is my “Go To” and my first time using this recipe years ago. My adult kids absolutely love it! And sometimes I sing , “Oh Marie!” When I make it!❤ Thank you for sharing your cherished Grandma with us!!
Haha, what a beautiful lady singing to a delicious food, God bless you
I just loooove this woman. Every time I see one of her videos she gives me a big smile 😁!
I enjoy you so much. I was born in Italy and came ti America when I was 8 years old. now that I am 73 I miss Italy I have never been back. We were a family of 8.. we are down to 5 with my parents gone to. I love to cook but Im not that great like you Gina. You really remind of Italy the way you talk about when you cook
I wanted to chime in and say something practical about this channels recipes - They work and well. I've made a few of her recipes and all have turned out incredible.
Try them. Definitely try her Ciambotta or her Zucchini Parmigiana. So far they are all great and she teaches so easily how to make them; the mark of a truly great teacher.
If anyone ever even looks at this woman wrong, we ride at dawn! I love grandma Gina so much😭💞
She is a treasure!
I wish she was my Grandma i would probably weigh 30 pounds more Lol. Bless Mama Gina
Thank you so much for a beautiful tribute to your papa. I bake with the grandkids any chance I get (not much now, but things will be better someday!). When the dough is 'gramma perfect' i say 'Now we DANCE!' And we dance for our lives and tumble down laughing. Make memories if you don't have your own. Like Gina! We LOVE you!
OMG. grandma is too cute. I love the way she says olive oil and repeats some instructions twice. love the recipe.
How did I never know about this channel. It is now my favorite. Thank you so much for sharing such beautiful recipes and stories about your life.
I am SOOO excited!!! I made your focaccia today and OH WOW!!!! It turned out ABSOLUTELY gorgeous!!! You're techniques and recipes are truly gems of your family history. You're helping SOOO many people learn to love and appreciate the values of making food from scratch again, uncomplicating it and taking the daunting-ness (my new word 😊) out of it. Keep doing what you do...we love and adore you!!!!❤️❤️❤️
She raises her hand and speaks just like how my grandma used to. Thank you for sharing dear lady ! ❣
I adore this woman and her songs. Thank you dear lady for the recipe, and the song. God bless you.
OMG, I love this woman. We Italians have the most incredible Nonna's 🥰🌹💞
My husband just walked by and saw me watching this video. He has asked that I make it...today! I am excited to try this! I won't forget to "sing the love" in it. Thank you, Nana Gina!😀
I hope it turns out delicious, Sarah!
Hello Italian Grandma Gina, just checking in to make sure you are well and feeling really good.
I am going to make another Focaccia right after I send you this thank you message.
Since I watched this video I have made Focaccia many times.
I have altered your recipe slightly by adding fresh garlic slivers into the dough.
Also, I started using a ratio of 3/4 bread flour and 1/4 whole wheat flour which gives it an interesting depth in flavor.
I have to confess that last week I tried someone else's Focaccia recipe.
Absolutely NO good came from that experiment.
My hubby made me promise to NEVER EVER again use another Focaccia recipe except yours.
He did not have to twist my arm, I wholeheartedly agreed.
That's it for now, Gina, I'm off to the kitchen.
Wishing you wellness and that The Universe watch over and protect you and everyone near and dear to you, always.
Again, many many thanks for this spectacular Five Start Recipe. * * * * *
What a precious mama you are to your family. Why in the world would anyone give this a thumbs down???
Obviously psychopaths.
I’ve never missed having a Grama until now🥰🥺
I was watching the spatula thinking it wont be long now. 😂 Hands will go in. So much more pleasure using your hands.
In a world full of chaos, what a wonderful escape to watch you cook and reminisce about your parents and the wonderful memories you have of them. 💕💕
I lived in Oakland, CA when I was young and we lived in a neighborhood where our neighbors were almost all related Italians. There were two bakeries, Bon Gusto and Genoas, where my father would go and pick up different flavored focaccia and bring home a few slabs for us. It was great with salami and prosciutto. I have tried making focaccia many times but have been unsuccessful but I think if I follow your instructions I might have it turn out to my satisfaction. Yours has the texture with all of the nooks and crannies that I am looking for. Yours turned out beautiful! I loved the beautiful heartfelt song you sang too.
Gina you make me cry!!! Wish I could give you a hug. When you sing and talk of your family I know how much you must miss them. GOD bless you❤
I love when you sing. I’ve adopted you as my grandmother and I just love you so much! This bread looks amazing!
If I lived next door to this sweet lady, she’d never wash a pan or clean her kitchen. I’d love to do that for her and buy every bit of groceries just to be with her and smell and eat the wonderful food food from her hands!
And I’d accompany you. I’d let you do the work while I sit and listen all those wonderful stories she keeps telling. And then we’ll share the food :-)
Brought tears to my eyes. My Peruvian-Italian grandpa used to comeback from the bakery on Saturdays, singing like her with a freshly baked foccacia under his arm. So so many years ago, so many dear memories! Wow I miss him so! Thank you Gina and God bless you too💕
Well miss Gina. I made it and it was gorgeous, everyone in my family came back for seconds! Thanks again and keep being you, I'm going to be watching all your videos as you are such a treat to watch . BTW I'm in Yorkshire in England 🇬🇧 xx
You should make a cookbook so we can pay you for your wonderful recipes
Cooking beautifully .. singing beautifully (didn't understand a word but it was great)❤️❤️
Yep... Grandma is great..❤️
I'm making this today! I could listen to her all day.
This kitchen should be declared a world heritage site.
You have so much patience. It has taught me to enjoy cooking as a process, and not to try to rush everything. If you're tired sometime, you can just talk to us, and not make anything if you want! We adore you.
I never heard before about adding potatoes to the bread in Italy.
You are just a beautiful soul!!!! Thank you so much Nona for sharing all your recipes with us. I hope you know how much you are appreciated. May God always bless you & your family.
The nona's were very busy caring for their family. The care and love in preparing the food. I miss watching my nona.
Oooooooooo nonna Gina wish I could smell this focaccia. Your smile warms my soul
Thank you for always sharing so much love, especially when you were singing it made me cry. ; ) Love you, love your faith, love your food, love your singing, love everything here.❤️
Grandma Gina! Grazie mille per il video! This made me smile, something I've really needed. I love good food and this is a wonderful escape from the challenging reality of this current year. Although all my grandparents have been gone more than 30 years, I still miss them. God bless you and your family!
