I was just sitting here laughing while watching this video....whoever thought up this stitch is a GENIUS!! I love this and can't wait to try it. Thank you so much for the really well-done video. Your explanations and speed, and pointing out exactly which stitch to use are perfect.
I love how you explain the stitches and talk us through each row. It's simple to understand and that makes all the difference! What a beautiful hat and stitch, too!!! 😘❤❤❤
I learned basic crochet from my mom as a young girl, over 40 years ago, enough to make scarves, but had never attempted anything else, and hadn’t done any crocheting in decades. I took it up again in the last month. I have now made this hat twice with your instructions with no trouble at all. I have used thicker cotton yarns and the results are awesome!! Just size as needed using multiples of 6 for the stitches on the rows. Thank you for the excellent video tutorial!! 🧶♥️🥰
This looks fun, i cant wait to try it. There is something so calming about getting in the groove while crocheting. The more movement my hand makes, the happier I feel.
Thank you for this tutorial. I would have never been able to make this hat without the tutorial. I'm not even sure I can do it with the tutorial. Lol!😳😉
Absolutely beautiful!!!!!! The most easiest way to do crochet cable!!!!! Absolutely genius! Thank you so much for your tutorial. Looking forward to much more.
It is a beautiful hat. I have got most of it down but was having some problems on the placement of the half dc. You are explaining it just fine but you turn the piece every time to show from the top view of where to place the stitch and so it took me a bit to figure out exactly where they were going between the posts. I finally got it and am almost done with it and loving it. Thank you for such a beautiful pattern and for being so good at explaining everything I can't wait to make more! .
Love - love - love this beautiful pattern! Thank you for this well taught video. I absolutely loved how you showed everything step by step clearly and concisely, making this a project not to be afraid to crochet , which is precisely what I’m going to do. Thank you for sharing your talent!!
Love this! Added to my project list! You definitely chose the best colour for your background the hook colour and the yarn colour. It made it very easy to see exactly what you were doing! Thanks! 😊
If it weren't for this absolutely fantastic video tutorial, I wouldn't even attempt this. I am pretty sure I can do this. Thank you so much for sharing! I think I can do it!
Thank you so much for this tutorial , I will keep this in my faves so that when I can brave these stitches I will be able to with your help❣️ you helped me with the front & back post 1/2 dbl , I was having problems with the back post but when you showed it , it was like my mind just opened right up 😃🤯🤩
Hi, I was looking to make one for myself. Love your tutorial. I can’t wait to get started. Looking I my stash for some yarn choices. Lots of thank yousssss
Thank you for this tutorial, it's so beautiful. You made it so easy to follow. I'm going to practice 1st then attempt to make it for my daughter who has been asking me to make a matching hat & scarf, I think I have enough time to finish and mail them to her before Christmas🐱💻😘
Def the best, i see aka celtic weave - I might have to do this one a few times though - I'd love to figure out how this gets down from the top down. Thank you very much ❤
So far I like this stitch. Very similar to doing cables so finding it fun and somewhat easy. I did the band different so I could get it done quickly and start on this cool stich. Ok thought this to be easy I overestimated the ease. This was quite the challenge to complete.
Omg i love that yarn forr one its so shiny. I need that in my life lol and for two i absolutely love 💘 your nail polish omg most beautiful purlple ever
Love how this beanie came out, and the explanations are superb. I already started with the ribbing. I have your video tutorial on next to me, to guide me all the way through. Thank you SOOO much for the clear and complete explanations. You're a great teacher! 😀💖
I have never ever been able to do any twist design of any kind, but with this tutorial, I think I will ba able to! Thank you for this easy tutorial! I’ll comment back when I do make one!
I love how you explained and showed in your tutorial this lovely stitches. My ever first beanie I’m making with your awesome tutorial. Thanks a lot for sharing this tutorial. Hugs from Austria🤗
What a beautiful hat! I've been looking for something a bit more complicated for my next couple of baby projects You explain how you're crocheting very well. Its very easy to understand. It's odd, I'm a lifelong crocheter, and consume a ton of youtube crochet content. I think this is the first of your videos I've seen. New subscriber. Glad the algorythym finally showed me your channel!
I have worked this tricky stitch before via another tutorial. YOURS is so much EASIER to understand!! I wish I would have come across this video first! Lol. Definitely subscribing. Thank you!! Pretty nails, btw. 😘
I'm half way through making a full beanie and I loving the pattern but as a left hander I have to say that really wished you had made a LEFT HANDED version of this video because trying to do it and work it out into reverse with all these cables and back cables is slowly sending me insane but I'm half way there and nearly finished! Thank you again for such a lovely pattern.
I'm having the same issue. My cables at row 7 are not coming out the way they should. They look all twisted...NOTHING like hers at all. I've pulled them out several times along with my hair!☹️😭😭
One of the cutest hat tutorials I’ve seen in the last few years at least. Thank you. I’ve bookmarked it because I’m already too busy with blankets for Christmas but if a miracle happens and I finish them early this hat would definitely be my next project. Thanks again. Have a great holiday season.
This is SO beautiful! I will have to wait for quarantine to be over to try this one, though - with my kids doing school at home, no way I'd be able to concentrate! :-)
Hi nice to meet you! ☺️ I am working on this pattern for a 1yo so I kept the even stitch count to 44, but at the end of row to connect the X's I had one extra... SO MY ADVICE Is if anyone is having trouble doing it with different stitch count: when you make your stitches - that should be multiples of 4 - keep in mind when you divide ➗ by 4 to be an EVEN number or PAIR. OK? That's why my 44 stitches didn't work! With 48 stitches ➗ 4=12 so it worked I had all the pairs of 4's to make the X's ☺️ Hope it helps!
I started a different hat, but couldnt do the pattern, as luck would have it, i had made a 72 stitch band...how spooky....I'm hoping I can do this pattern lol :)
I either have a freakishly small head, I crochet much looser, or my yarn is just that much thicker than what she's using. I only did 60 rows of the brim, and it's plenty big enough for me... everything is working up just fine, it just surprised me when I got to 60 rows and it was already a good size for me. lol. Love the pattern!!!
Hello. This lattice hat is lovely. I find it hard to read patterns and would really appreciate if you could make a video tutorial for an adult hat fitting 23inch head. I want to know how to custom fit this hat and how many stitches/ rows I should add to make a certain fit. In your video- just a suggestion that in the beginning if you could tell the size you’re making and also if someone wants to reduce/ increase the size then how many stitches one should add/ reduce per inch . For example- for every extra inch add 6 more chains etc.. kindly help. Thanks
Hi! For the video, I made the infant size. The stitch counts for all sizes (infant, toddler, child, teen, adult, and large adult) can be found here: hearthookhome.com/lattice-love-beanie-crochet-pattern/
I love the look of this hat. I’ve been crocheting for 16 years and I’ve spent 3 days trying to figure this hat out. I’ve watched the video over and over again. I’ve looked at the written pattern too and I’m still confused. I at least made it to round 10... I’m lost after repeat rows 7-10 until you reach your desired height. I watched row 7 over again and I’m still lost. Unfortunately I will be frogging this hat and trying a different one. I can’t read patterns well, but I felt this tutorial needed more explanation of rows 7 and 9.
Love this design and as always your tutorial is excellent. I’ve been meaning to tell you, you have stunning hands and you take great care of them. Nothing worse than seeing a woman who takes care of herself and neglects her hands! As you can tell, I have a thing for hand care!! 😂😂💕💕
I purchased your pattern for the whole set. The beanie came out beautiful my opinion However I am having trouble with the infinity scarf pattern. I am a little confused with round 5 and problem will be confused with round 7 also. It’s a difference from going from round to left to right then turn. Is there a way that a tutorial can be sent for rows 7 -10 odd numbers. In a rush to give to someone on the 3rd of December. Thank you
how many inches will be for adult size from the Brim till the top of the head? I am making with a different type of yarn, so i have no ideia how big i should do... can you help please?
This is such a beautiful design! I'm excited to make it. I know you specified dk weight yarn but could it be made with say a medium weight yarn? The yarn I have is made to be used with a 5.5mm hook...
@@HeartHookHome okay, thanks so much for the response. I wondered if it would slant the way HDCs tend to do in a round without turning but I did wonder if the lattice would hide it. I figure I should just turn as stated for now to avoid possible problems.
I wish you could do a video on a lattice hat pattern from Leisure Arts. I can’t find a tutorial anywhere and I’m stuck on the instructions for the body of the hat.
I've started to make this up and the sizing is confusing. The pattern says that my head is 22.5 inches which would put me in the large adult size but when working the pattern up and putting the brim around my head it fit perfectly at the child's size?
Any tips or tricks for a lefty on row 7? When I’m attempting the FPDTC under part my working yarn in my right hand is getting wrapped around the stitches above.
I just spent a good amount of time searching my stash for a dk weight and can't find any. Hopefully I can make it work with what I have. I wish there were more clear instructions for each size on the ribbing. Maybe I missed it?
If my yarn is chunkier and I need to do fewer than 72 rows to reach 15 inches for the infant size, how many stitches are in the repeat? Does it just need to be an even number? A multiple of 6?
Somehow I've messed this up twice now. I get to the part where you make the x, but when I get to the end, I still missed two and can't make the last x. Only half of it. I'm trying to make it for the 20" one, but how many stitches exactly do I need?
Looks like the rubbing is made with a smaller needle. I found allowed the instructions and used the same needle into the lattice but my rubbing does not cinch up like yours.
Welp. I wish somewhere in your video or written pattern you had told us the multiple of the pattern. I assumed looking at the even numbers that it was a multiple of 2 but I’m thinking now that it is a multiple of three since I have an extra set of posts than you on round 5 and I am now going to have to frog way back.
I was just sitting here laughing while watching this video....whoever thought up this stitch is a GENIUS!! I love this and can't wait to try it. Thank you so much for the really well-done video. Your explanations and speed, and pointing out exactly which stitch to use are perfect.

I’m love that
Hi, lovely hat, making it for a friend. Was just wondering, would not turning after every row influence how the hat would turn out?
I think the lattice would be off that way but I would have to sit down and look at it before saying for sure.
