In this lesson, we’ll be crocheting a classic heart shape amigurumi. We’ll be learning how to connect two halves into one using very little seaming to make it as easy as possible.

Written patter:
1. Double Magic ring of 6 (but you can do a single)
2. Increase to 12
3. Sc (12)
4. Repeat until you have 2 lil hats
5. Sc into the next stitch of the 2nd part then do 9 sc (3 stitches should be left) skip the 3 stitches then go to the next half and skip 3 stitches then sc into the 4th and sew the inside of the halfs
6. Finish the round by going all the way to the end of the heart top (18)
7. 3 sc, 1 invisible decrease (front loops) then 7 sc then another invisible dec then 4 sc (16)
8. 2 sc, 1 invisible decrease (repeat 4 times)
9. Do 6 invisible decs then sew it closed

First try : cries and gives up , Second try : this is a lovely kidney bean . These were excellent instructions. My heart would've probably been perfect if I have been able to keep my two halves the same tightness. I will definitely be trying this again and again till I get it just right.

As a year and a half crocheter, I wouldn't say that this is the perfect and easiest tutorial ever for beginners, the pattern itself is already difficult enough, more weaving and sewing and piecing makes them so confusing for everyone.
Oh my gosh! You are so wonderful at explaining! This was absolutely lovely to follow! I’m thinking of taking up the tradition of making a Christmas ornament each year since the member of our family who used to make them, sadly passed after being very I’ll. I hope I can make her proud and happy the tradition will live on.

I am still pretty new to crocheting...this took me a while...I lost count a few times LOL...but I DID IT!! I did not have stuffing so I cut up a plastic grocery bag and it worked great.
u could try to use a bobby pin, a safety-pin, or just simply put a short piece of yarn into place to mark the beginning of every round :)

For stuffing i just use excess yarn I cut off from past projects 😂 I've been crocheting for several years yet I have never gone to buy proper stuffing 😂😌

From the bottom of my heart, thank you SO much for this tutorial. I kid you not, I spent over 12 hours in one sitting trying to making a heart while watching this and I just couldn't do it. It was a me thing because I'm a beginner crocheter and always have to make things difficult for myself 😂. Your tutorial was SO thorough and so easy to follow along with. For all the people having troubles, try practicing a granny square or two before trying this out. It can help you get to know stitches and rounds and be more confident and comfortable with your crocheting.💜 I have found this helped me TONS!
Also I think stitch markers are super helpful especially when working in the round! I can never keep track of my stitches if I don’t use them

I’m also left handed
I'm ambidextrous but each of my hands has different skills. My left is better for controlled things like using a fork, pencil, or most tools. My right is usually better with sporty or strength related things, like throwing a ball or punching. Oddly enough, I used my left hand for the rainbow loom, back when that was popular, and my right for crochet despite both being done with a crochet hook. I guess that's because with crochet I learned right handed and grab the yarn loops over with my left.

So, I just wanted to say thank you because I've been watching a bunch of tutorials to learn how to crochet and you are the first one that I feel clearly explains and shows where to insert the hook when beginning a single crochet. This was such a fun and (relatively) simple beginner's project and it quickly built my confidence. One suggestion would be to clarify where the outside and the inside of the work is. My first try I ended up making the whole thing inside out :P
Learning to crochet now, an absolute newbie that just picked up some wool yarn and a crochet needle at the dollar store. This was super easy to understand, and English isn't even my first language (helped a lot learning crochet terminology in English too) - thank you so much!
First one got a little uneven cause I still can't control my strength very well and the two halves are kinda different sizes even tho they have the same amount of stitches lol the parting also didn't get as pronounced because of that. But it still does look surprisingly like a little heart for a first attempt, so I'm glad. Will be making more later until I really get it right
Finally, you have explained the magic loop so I can understand it. I've never been able to do one with explanations from anyone else. Thank you much!

Deadass I was at this for 2 hours making 1 heart (which turned out good!!) bc I kept miscounting and then re-doing it BUT IT IS DONE!! I didn’t have a needle so I used a skinnier crotchet hook and pulled the yarn thru and scrap fabric I had as stuffing! This is one grueling process but very rewarding! Thank u for this! 💜

I used to hate them too, then I figured out how to do them and there was no turning back since then
Heres a tip from someone that absolutely hates magic loops do two chains which are pretty easy and just go back to the first one you made and do what every thingy/number of stitches in it and pull boom super easy

We get "skill training" in this class, espectially who want to be a craftman, will get basic knowlegde of that

I used a size A crochet hook (maybe size B?) and embroidery thread. It's definitely a lot harder to make, but I did it in about an hour while watching TV so I think I made it more difficult than necessary haha. Crocheting with thread is tough but it makes the COOOLEST stuff!

It helped me to add the stuffing after round 6. The hole was still big enough to easily get the stuffing inside, but I added only enough so I could still see the stitches, then added just a little bit more at the end. It also made round 7 easier for me because I could grab onto the filled heart which didn't change as much in shape as the empty one (I've made 4 so far and the last one was the easiest).
Tysm for this tutorial! I have a school project with my friend and we don’t know how to crochet at all. All the videos I watch is a no-explanation and is very very fast. This really helped out. I hope my grades are good for the project. Thank you 🙏
