- Listen to a full demo of Josh Smith and Matt Schofield playing the Two-Rock Burnside.
We’ve always had a passion and respect for tweed history. So, we tasked Bill Krinard with blending both modern and 50’s tweed voicing in one amp.
The Burnside is an 18 watt Two-Rock version of the wide panel tweed circuit and combines the dynamics and touch sensitivity of a vintage tweed amp with the modern clarity of a Two-Rock. The Burnside will instantly give you that classic vibe and feel with the comforts of new reliability. This amp features a pair of 6V6’s, GZ34 tube rectifier and a 12AY7 in V1, or you can swap this tube with a 12AX7 to increase the gain. The front panel control layout features a bright switch and a user friendly control layout: GAIN, TREBLE, BASS and PRESENCE. One of the great features of this amp, much like vintage tweed amps, is how the tone controls react. At any volume the gain is dependent on how hard you are attacking the strings, and when you turn the bass control all the way up the bass gets that horn like trombone low end.
This amp features a passive effects loop as well as a vintage constructed, paper layer-wound transformer that is a larger upgrade version featuring 4, 8, and 16 ohm speaker outputs. The amp chassis is finished in an elegant bronze color with cream lettering and we’ve made a departure from birch to pine cabs for more of that vintage vibe. Covering is available in limited edition lacquered black tweed in either a head with matching 1×12 Cabinet, or a 1×12 combo configuration.
I’ve been listening to Josh for a long time and he is truly one of the best! Matt is also up there with the big boys. Together they are just a joy to listen to!
I just want to know what individual would in their right mind put a thumbs down on this - this is extremely musical and void of ego between these two sterling players!
Just seen Josh Smith live. Monster player, good vocalist, such a tight three pieces band. Beast drummer and bass player. Mind blowing performance. He blends country, blues, jazz, funk, rock in a way which when you hear it makes totally sense musically. Absolutely fab. A must see!!
It always sounds so good when Matt picks up a Gibson. Ahhh...
Wow these 2 guys compliment each other so well !! These are 2 of best on the planet . Tone taste and supreme chops . Doesn't get any better than this
I gotta say these two guys have become my favorite two blue guitarists as of late. Starting listening to Matt first but and both are amazing but I get more impressed every time I hear Josh. The guy just has such a vast knowledge of music and fits so many genres into the blues and it just sounds awesome.
Josh Smith seems to me the most solid and versatile blues guitar player since Jeff Healey passed away. Awesome guys! You rock!
Josh kills it with the Western swing/ bebop stuff :)
Insanely excellent!
Spectacularly cool. Keep coming back to it
Fantastic jam, thanks to both of them.
So much control, taste, chops and tone. Awesome!
I had to watch it again, and it got even better with age....
No matter how many time I watch this video it gets better and better. I never get tired of watching it!!
This jam is as awesome as it gets, bravo👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Guys you are incredible🔥
They probably would just keep playing right on into Eternity !✌🎸
2 terrific guitar players!!
Another testament to the Tele's versatility and palette.
Marvelous! What a joy to listen to :)
These two blokes always have such a fantastic chemistry!
Good choice Two-Rock

Oh man it doesn't get any better than this.
Brilliant work!
Awesome, superb, masterful, living legends
Superb sound and mix! Every note from both guitarists can be heard all the way through.
Amazing playing!

Wow!!! I'm gonna go throw my guitars in the fireplace now. Actually, these guys are very inspiring.
Both not from this earth!!! Wonderfull, faaaantastic played on one level!!!
And a great clean tone, not wiped out with bad pedals!
Wow!!!! My goodness that was TASTY!!!!
Definitely going to be taking another look at this one!
Foarte tare ,băieți . Felicitări!

Probably the greatest video on UA-cam....amazing.
Tim Stevens

AWESOME AS HELL!!!
Two aces!!

Josh is such a phenomenal player...
Awesome
AMAZING!! what else can you say...
Wow 😳
Just the sweetest playing!! Really hope you guys do an album together some time (please...) maybe even a live release... (oh and the amps do sound amazing too)
how about an album just like this? two electric guitars, that's it
Luke43168 I'd buy that!
very cool
Now that good stuff...
If Josh and Matt were paid by the lick, this video alone covered they're retirement in full. 🎸😎
Brutal
Cool
Jeez josh Smith is a real player!
Muito bom . Que sonzeira da hora meu !
wow....
Wow, first time I see Matt not playing a Strat style guitar. Nice change!
The 2 dislikes are proof that trolls are in fact real. No one could possibly legitimately dislike this. No matter what their preferred style of music is.
Mother of God!!!
That break at 5:49!
I wanna see Josh Smith's collection of NY Yankees hats.
oh !!! my!!! god!!!!!!)
How we all want to play when we're big.
Yeah album together...
Josh Smith scares the living daylights out of me!
Music!
at 4:53 a bit of Miles Davis - Jean Pierre reference :)
Check out Josh’s awesome country solo, just type in josh smith awesome country solo. Good stuff
Oh to be this fluid.....
I want to build a little house inside of a two rock amp
Awesome ,, I love gibson, but too expensive for me. :(
Josh Smith is just so damn good. He has more licks up his sleeve than anyone I know of and every one of them is mouthwateringly tasty.I like Matt too but I like him more with his Stratocaster.
Please, someone has got the rhythm tab?
I don't get why Josh Smith is featured in many Two-Rock videos. He plays Morgan amps live.
Don't get me wrong, I adore the man
He gets paid to be in these vids, that's why..
Or he gets paid to play Morgan's or both. Blues players in general have made a lot of money except Eric clapton and bb king probably
Have not made I mean
WhimpyPatrol You can edit by clicking on the dots on the side.....
Check Josh @ 3:46 (Magic)
These two are excellent together. Does this song have a name or are they just jammin' ?
Pretty sure it’s ‘Key To Love’. There’s a good version on the John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton album. Hope this helps!
@@williamkiss8517 Thank you
JJ cale
Its 1..4...5.. but luckily as they are dominants ....you can do so much with them.....diminish....tritones....4th voicings....and then the good old blues scale.....just need to take a bit of time and do a bit of theory.....to see what I mean ...check out Jimmy Herrings playing...then all will become clear !!!
I love Matt but Josh is a new breed he is a new standard fn scary
Power Play
haha... zero dislikes... I mean you have to be the biggest fool on earth to give this a thumb down!
May the blues will live forever!!
What song is this ?^^
It's just a generic blues. Improv with a bunch of blues cliches.
On the 8th Day, God created the Cherry Red 335.......In God we trust....
john
🤘🤘🤘
Dang! My guitar must be busted. It doesn’t sound anything like this.
Crikey
Sorry but the amps don't sound like anything special if this is suppose to show case them it's a wasted effort.
16 people can do better? Wow!
derin111 No, they’re just dicks.....
Matt kinda loses his vibe on a gibson guitar. He has to play a strat.
Yeah. Single coils FTW on bluesy, edge of breakup amp settings. Humbuckers just don't have the dynamic response or harmonic complexity. Humbuckers are much better suited to midrange focussed, higher gain sounds though...
lol, corrected
flat5sharp11 That's not true have you ever heard Mike Bloomfields Les Paul tones
The blues greats (BB King, Albert King, etc.) disagree. You can play the blues on any kind of guitar, even on a pointy Ibanez. It's the feel coming from a player that makes the blues.
Heard SRV playing a Les Paul sounded awesome...Early Clapton ,Les Paul ,335 or SG...nuff said.
Good players, but the amps sound like poop.
Schofield wasting his time with that smith. Shame.
