I’ve seen several videos with these dudes together and If you noticed when josh goes to solo the groove completely drops out! Moral of the story is that Josh is the best Rhythm guitarist around!!!!!!
And the most feelful soloing I've ever heard. Something about the mix of that jazz/country/blues thing he does. He mixes it up so well within one solo.
I had the pleasure of playing 2 dumble amps. I wish I had the skills I have now to really put it through the paces and experience everything it had to offer but Ill never forget that clean tone with sizzle. So friggin dynamic it's disqusting! I was literally 2 years into guitar after drumming for years but I always remembered that tone that guys who played dumbles had. Way b4 I even knew why it was so great. Lol
5:35 love that little scale change. No idea what he did, but it sounded so nice. Two masters of our time. Just when you thought guitar was finished, these guys show us that it's not over.
Agtronic it’s the diminished lick that starts the phrase that pulls your ear to the “outside” sound. Effective trick because the rest of the phrase is pretty much pentatonic.
Guitar playing does not get better. Matt can't be human. He's achieved the epitome of expressiveness, touch, flare and finesse with his playing. Crikey...
Nice playing. But it's kinda like - sigh ... the endless notes, the endless technique, the endless endless ... Its just more of the same & I've heard it all before, & very tired of it. Now if you are playing it - yourself - then - YA, fun. Can be exciting. All of that. But LISTENING to it, yet again ? Geez .... Some new Phenom, it's just ... sigh ... okay. They get better & better, but don't really PLAY much of anything that hasn't been played before. So like I said - the doing can be fun. The Listening - not so much anymore. Give me Grant Green, Wes, Kenny and loads of early Fusion guys any day . Give me a Piano, a Bass ,a Sax, a Synth - ANYTHING but a Guitar sometimes. Because there are definitely people out there doing interesting stuff.
Faster isn't always better kids. play up and down note after note.. notes that dont fit and its cool but it doesn't show emotion.. watch the feeling and feel the sound of joshs playing compared to matts... yeah.. different emotional approach. both great but better to use phrasing for emotional rather than shred through notes.. imo.
Matt's got the magic touch. You can't teach it or learn it. Never heard anyone get such a sweet tone out of a Strat. Josh's tone was like icepicks in my ears after that.
Dumble and most decent blues players can coax those amps... I built 3 a 50 and two 100s skyline eq is my fave. HRM is OK Larry Carlton and Robben Ford built a lifetime career on this tone. It's their signature. Beautiful amps but, at the end of the day you still sound like yourself.
Matt is playing his Matt Schoffield signature Two Rock and a Classic Reverb Signature and Josh is playing a Two Rock Traditional Clean and the legendary Dumble Overdrive Special. @TwoRockAmplifiers is easily the best amp maker on the planet
All of you guys on here that spew out BS on how one style is better than another or who you think is better. Please stop why put down any type of guitar player? By the way, these 2 play guitar for a living. I am quite sure none of you can make that claim. I will say this Matt could certainly take a shower before a performance.
jonno63 now imagine having a gifted amp maker build an amp customized for your guitar and play style! Must be heaven. I have the luck of owning a Two Rock custom and even that is just such a difference from any other amp I have played.
Wonderfull, faaantastic!!! This both are not from this earth!!! They are playing in one really great level!!! But Matt, please, please, nevermore use these baby shoes.....:):):) You are looking like a Gay Penguin!!! :):):)
God I miss Gary Moore! Today's guitarists are good but can put an insomniac to sleep. Josh had some nice edge to his short solo, and Scot is what we call in the guitar world a solo Bogart. Although he is quite good, it is all just the same thing over and over with no climatic power and melodic story being told. Josh on the other hand can tell a story well.
theyre just jamming on a sad backing track,,, both of them are brilliant with their own bands and have songs , albums that are brilliant and are both phenomenal live , i know ive seen them
Josh Smith would be famous if he would just make faces. Millennials can't tell how good a player is unless they see those wild ass BB King gestures. Shoot, they even mistakenly think John Mayer is a great guitarist because he can fake his expressions so well.
Is it just me or does Schofield always play like 36 bars too long when he dual solos with Josh... I mean yeah he's amazing but he's no Josh Smith I wish it was reversed but Josh just seems like too laid-back and cool...
@Peter Haugen - You must be the only one on the planet that thinks I was serious?? It's called sarcasm, look it up. For the record, Josh's playing is phenomenal.
Two of the best guitarists on that pedal show. so amazing.
2 of the best bleus guitarist’s !!!
I’ve seen several videos with these dudes together and If you noticed when josh goes to solo the groove completely drops out! Moral of the story is that Josh is the best Rhythm guitarist around!!!!!!
No doubt about Josh, but Kirk Fletcher might have a say in this
And the most feelful soloing I've ever heard. Something about the mix of that jazz/country/blues thing he does. He mixes it up so well within one solo.
@@lucasvonbraun I think if we are being honest I don't think Kirk or Matt has a say lol. They are both great but I do belive josh is on another level.
Josh Smith is incredible!

Matt you talk to me
Great solo

John O'Mary can you suggest me any video or tutorial about it??
@@pramesh.gurung search for: josh smith beyond the blues, there is a section for diminished stuff
You could also search UA-cam for Robben Ford's diminished stuff. It's a similar idea.
Looks like a pair of excellent players played Two Rock amps at a Dumble Amp show...nice
Two Masters
Best guitar players
What amp builder wouldn't want these two guys demoing their amps ? They are both top of their game. Just awesome playing guys 👍
Two monster🔥🤘
Love them both !
Stool foot placement is everything while free jammin!
Both great.
Josh Smith is something! H.Smokz!
AMAZING
Josh's rhythm!!!!!!!!
This tune was playing in the Heron Tower elevator this morning
That's got to be the ultimate insult, calling it "elevator music".
Ha
Guitar playing does not get better. Matt can't be human. He's achieved the epitome of expressiveness, touch, flare and finesse with his playing. Crikey...
Ed Berger Like to hope that they are pretty high...
Actually, though I do like Schofield, it does feel like he isn't particularly inspired on that specific day. Josh Smith on the other end...
Adam Lee r
your name says it all .... a common slider

A privilege to listen to two great talents.. for FREE..!
But listen guys… next time you don’t have to dress up.. lol👍🏼❤️
The combined skill of those two can beat poverty, I don't know it's just too much!
Great playing by these two, as usual. Too bad another moment sullied by the horrible automatic compressor on the video camera.
Ça plane haut 🥰
awesome
Matt's tone really speaks volumes about his approach.
Faster isn't always better kids. play up and down note after note.. notes that dont fit and its cool but it doesn't show emotion.. watch the feeling and feel the sound of joshs playing compared to matts... yeah.. different emotional approach. both great but better to use phrasing for emotional rather than shred through notes.. imo.
Nice!
😮
freakin josh......
Matt is pretty awsome. Josh Smith plays another league altogether
Still Josh! Nobody else!
Matt's got the magic touch. You can't teach it or learn it. Never heard anyone get such a sweet tone out of a Strat. Josh's tone was like icepicks in my ears after that.
Is Josh wearing a Yomiuri Giants cap?
I hear a high freq pitch as if a shielded cable is inadequate.
Anyone notice the band coming in a half-step sharp?
It's a backing track
woooww

Matt seems like that Russian guy from world cup
Yeah,man…
They're both better than I am lol
What is that annoying high-pitch squeal in the background? You can see Josh not impressed by it. Great playing.
🤣
日本にきてたんですかぁ
what amp is that? a ceriatone clone?maybe the FM 50
Matt is playing his Matt Schoffield signature Two Rock and a Classic Reverb Signature and Josh is playing a Two Rock Traditional Clean and the legendary Dumble Overdrive Special. @TwoRockAmplifiers is easily the best amp maker on the planet
Both technically brilliant musicians, but Matt was talking to himself and Josh was talking to me.
Neil Burnett Yes! Matt: noodling for 4~ minutes. Josh: kicks arse in the first 5 seconds, melts yours soul the remainder of the time.
@@AGShoomno noodling lmfao
also allowing josh 1/8th of solo time isn't even fair.. hes far too talented to be shut down like that. shameful.
tasty

He probably does take a shower before.
Must be nice to play those highly expensive amps!

Says George, with his one video done in his mingin' front room and 1 subscriber..
Ouch!
If you like the power, rawness and crescendo of Gary Moore, check out Eric Gales!
Gary Morre ? Great, but basically the same thing with VOLUME. Very tedious after awhile. The DRAAAAAMA ... The PaaaaiN, the Aaaaaangst ! Oh my !
theyre just jamming on a sad backing track,,, both of them are brilliant with their own bands and have songs , albums that are brilliant and are both phenomenal live , i know ive seen them
noise anywhere, make guitarist not comfortable
Smith's guitar is too ice-picky. Maybe the tele.
Josh Smith would be famous if he would just make faces. Millennials can't tell how good a player is unless they see those wild ass BB King gestures. Shoot, they even mistakenly think John Mayer is a great guitarist because he can fake his expressions so well.
Matt Schofield needs a new haircut
Beard and a cut, otherwise he'd look like a Derek Trucks wanna be haha!!
That's where all the tone is!
I agree, cut it OFF
Bad backsound..
Is it just me or does Schofield always play like 36 bars too long when he dual solos with Josh... I mean yeah he's amazing but he's no Josh Smith I wish it was reversed but Josh just seems like too laid-back and cool...
They are both on Parr; but, maybe Smith can accomplish in 12 bars what it takes Schofield 36.
Its all BB King
triken900 Like 3 bb licks makes it all bb?
So clueless. Haha got to love yt comments
More and more of the same
Not bad but, SLASH would put them both to shame
@Peter Haugen evidently
lol
