- This is the Redcat 1953 Chevrolet COE (Cab Over Engine) Custom Hauler. It's an RC Hauler that is a Fully Functional Lowrider. Control the hight directly from the controller.

This is the best review I've seen of this truck. No-one else bothered to take it apart and show us the chassis, or to use a rotary dial so they can raise and lower it in a scale manner, rather than a sudden lurch.
I enjoyed every second of the montage, too!
Matt at Scale Builder's Guild did a video including installing a device from Hey ok I think, its specifically designed for this truck that allows you to set the servo speed to appear scale using the stock radio. With some fancy radios you can just control servo speed via settings..

Man , i really wish redcat had a UK dealer . The hauler isn't really my cup of tea but I can appreciate it for what it is. In the last 12 months there have been atleast 3 releases from redcat that i'd happily add to my collection but as you've explained, the shipping and VAT just blows any chance of that straight out of the water. C'mon Redcat! Also appreciate that you stuck to your guns with the " you don't need to be first to put out a good video" idea Phil. Was nice to see your take on it

I really appreciate you still pointing out flaws (headlights, servo switch) despite redcat sending you the rig. Every other channel just talks good about whatever they’re sent to be in good hands with the company, and it pisses me off lol

That's a pretty RC for sure! Couldn't help but think if the cab was chrome and fitted a Knight Rider light it would look like a Cylon from Battlestar Gallactica!

This a great looking hauler. Redcat has a done a wonderful job on this r/c. I am sure in the Summer if you went to car shows across the U.S. these will be seen. As you said, in the low rider community it will be very popular. Redcat has come so far in the quality of its products, I don't recall if you reviewed but the Ascent crawler is suppose to be quite good. This vehicle is just cool. In the UK they hold meets where Tamiya haulers are put on display and driven around, Although this doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the Tamiya giant semis, I wonder what people at those shows would think of this? You did a excellent review.

20% regressive tax is crazy, i thought our 10% was dumb and counter productive, but that's just mad
In Germany you pay 19% + XX% depending on the product... some are just 19% and RCs have an extra 4.7% added... apart if the quality standards aren't up to EU norms the product can be destroyed... there're probably some loopholes because a lot of stuff from China sometimes doesn't have taxes🤷♂️
Otherwise now a days these taxes are useless since everything gets shipped around the world..and local company's produce stuff in a cheaper country...
@@0xpadx0 I can see why they sometimes don't charge tax when shipping to EU - "too hard basket" - you're meant to pay it yourself. I've seen some sellers mention larger orders are not taxed when sent to EU and the onus is on the buyer.
For some items here, like lipos, they have Australian stock, mostly on ebay, so the tax has already been added. And the customs already done
The 'ticks* need the money for their salaries, expenses and allowance then funneled to cronies then the public.💷💸

for years after they brought in GST in Australia, you could still import $1000 worth tax free. The tax wasn't so regressive. Then they got rid of that in 2018....

I’m big into brawlers and trail trucks. Even I bought a low rider and the hauler. My Axial 6x6 fits on the back of the hauler perfectly!

Man i wish id put a video up of my rc low rider i made.. just made the airbag setup with 4 30kg 360° servo mounted on the towers then changed the springs and the hubs, happened to rotate the ball joints well enough... then those connected the servo to the struts and used telescopic shafts for the drive shafts .. ran that to a garage door relay at 12v and 12 to the servos total coincidence but i built it off a redcat drifter i bought second hand just over 7-8 years ago 😅 i love that they actually went into making them... Wish i hadnt gone to effort .. little bit of patience i could have just bought one 😂

Unrelated to this lovely video but I found an Ftx parts store that ships to the us!!!! The plan is to fully restore my helion Invictus and had I not watched all of your Ftx reviews I’d have never known that they were the exact same chassis and drivetrain. Parts on the way🎉

I love my redcats. My gen 7 pro is a tank, it's gone off 45ft+ drops and ate it like a champ. Only thing I've broken in a year of consistent abuse is a driveshaft and a rod end.
