I watch horst 25% for whiskey, content 75% for the sound of his voice. This is one of his true gems.
Well Horst, your just the lucky one sipping such a fine spirit :).At the moment there's a dram of the double wood in front of me,,soon to be gone.
thanks for your review, Dr. Leuning
i need to get more into Balvenie. they take such great pride in their whisky, its so inspiring.
I tried the 21 years and it was outstanding for $250, one of the best
What do you thank of the 21yr? I don't see a video for that one.
I, too, prefer more general tasting notes. When people start identifying different sorts of peppers, candies, a thousand and one cakes and obscure things like "leather of an old wallet that has had only 20 dollar bills kept in it", then they are trying to be too fancy and trying to put a name on smells and tastes that aren't really there like-for-like.
On our other website we have a thread about the funniest tasting notes. The "wallet" would fit in just nicely.
Lol I agree...... Although I will never get tired of hearing "bandaid" in place of "medicinal"
+ArtMorte that's the whole idea of whisky tasting or any spirit tasting for that matter....everyone has notes and tastes that remind them of obscure things in their life travels...to just read off tasting notes is pretty bland, its all how a whisky tastes to you and where it brings you
I came up with one the other day... "barn door".
I can tell when he likes one by the noises he makes while swishing it around. Lol
Damn Horst, you got some dollars! How much was it? 1000?
I was wondering how you know that it is colored. Are all Balvenie colored? Thank you
Everything that isn't a single cask from Balvenie/Glenfiddich may be coloured
Angels share I like that lol
