Just ordered the skin stuff. Figure at 39 I should take care of my skin… My go to is Buffalo Trace but I alternate between so many. To your point I agree the Old Forester is a must have. Very approachable and cost efficient.
I’m with you. I’ve managed to hold on to two bottles of E.H. Taylor small batch. They wink at me whenever I walk by so they may not be long for this world.
Jeremy I could literally watch your videos all the time. Your editing and your b roll shots make your videos fantastic to watch. You are the reason that I got into whiskey and had to go with your beginner bottle of choice Woodford Double Oaked. My entire whiskey collection now have all come based off of your recommendations and I cannot say I have a bottle I do not like. Thank you for the great content, literally from whiskey and cigars, to gear and BBQ I love every video!
I've never been too keen on bourbon, I tend to lean towards Islay malts for the peatyness. A good all rounder for peated whisky would be Lagavulin 16 and for something with a bit more smoke to it I'd go for Ardbeg Corryvrecken.
Agreed. Knob Single 9 is a great bourbon at its price point. Nothing super unique flavor wise but just a very nice, smooth bourbon with all of the classic attributes.
Love the Woodford Reserve Double Oaked - flavour bomb at a decent price (about $75ish in Australia, $65 when on special). The Glendronach 15 is great, I've had bottles of most of their core range (including their new peated expression, which is delicious). For me, the 18 year old Glendronach is incredible, it's a significant step up from the 15, highly recommend it! Great video Jeremy, cheers!
I just bought a bottle of tullamore dew for $50, it tastes like it costs lol, I'm thinking of getting a bottle of Redbreast 12 it's like $109 on special, I'm pissed asbws and Dan aren't bringing in old forester anymore because of import costs and liqure land and first choice don't stock it.
I have to say that my favorite Single-Malt Scotch has to be Glenmorangie 12. Granted, it's not high ABV, nor does it have "Unique Charecteristics". But it's delicious, it drinks smooth, and it's not all that expensive.
Indeed. Glenmorangie has a wide range of different ones, & would represent the other side of the spectrum of single malt scotch as opposed to the islays. Glendronach's are O.K., MacAllans are overpriced. And John Powers Three Swallows are the irish equivalent to wild Turkey 101 bourbon. Character & style, whereas most irish whiskey don't have either.
Double Oaked was my 2nd bottle, pretty strong for a beginner but the more I drank it the more I loved it. I would add Elijah Craig small batch and four roses single barrel to that list. Pretty easy to find as well, at least in California.
Good list. I have all of the Bourbons. I have a slight preference for 1910 over 1920. I'd probably put up Rare Breed instead of 101, but 101 is definitely great for the price. Russel's Single Barrel is probably my favorite WT label. I LOVE the Jack SBBP, and I think it actually drinks lower proof and easier than other high barrel proofs like ECBP or Stagg Jr.
Great Video! You mentioned how you jump between 1910 and 1920 in the video(I do too) and me and my buddies made a mix of 50% 1910 and 50% 1920 that we appropriately call "1915" and it's absolutely amazing. I recommend everyone try it cause it's a great flavorful sipper, and it slightly brings down the proof if 1920 is a bit high for some people.
If you're a fan of sherry cask finished whiskeys, I have to recommend Wyoming Whiskey Double Cask. The bourbon and sherry notes swirl together in an amazing combination of flavors that has made it one of my favorites.
Was researching a good whiskey to gift my dad for Christmas and came across your video. Your presentation is impeccable. Thank you so much for being so thorough and giving us a little history while at it…made my choice of Woodford Reserve easier! ❤
For a beginners list (trying to keep on budget) i may add…. Dun Bheagan small batch, Monkey Shoulder, Sexton, Jameson Black Barrel, Basil Hayden and if you like the Smokey punch in the face of Islay’s, Laphroig quarter cast (nice deep smoke without the high price of a Lagavulin 16). They’re all relatively inexpensive and have the classic flavours for the regions.
As a newcomer to whiskey, I have a novice question. How long can we keep an “opened” bottle of good whiskey on the shelf? I read that some of the aromas evaporate out the more times the bottle is opened.
Hello good sir… just my 2 cents… if you like macallan…. You MUST try Glenlivet. The 12 year is a fantastic everyday scotch, but if you want a special occasion drinker… you gotta get the 18yr. It is unbelievable my friend!!! You will not be disappointed!!!! Let this one take a good 30 minutes to enjoy and taste how it evolves in the glass over time.
Ardbeg 10 all day!! Best smokey peat scotch for the money hands down. Under $50 usually. Non chill filtered, natural color and good abv. For bourbon under $50 my go to all day is Wild Turkey Rare Breed.
If the Redbreast is a go to for you and regular Jameson isn't then you're probably a fan of the traditional single pot still style. All of the 'Spot' range is excellent especially the yellow (for me), and the Powers Johns Lane 12 is the best value in Irish whiskey in my humble opinion. The Redbreast Lustau is a great dram as well, cheers Jeremy!
Oh man...the Spot series is incredible. I just found Red Spot 15 yr. to complete my collection. It wasn't cheap at around $115, but its amazing. I bought the last 2 bottles they had. I'll have to look up the Powers Johns Lane 12. Never heard of it. And yeah...everything Redbreast is top notch.
Absolutely love the Russell's reserve single barrel. Glendronach 15 is delicious. I prefer old forester 1897. I think a whiskey that is under the radar and very underrated is Evan williams single barrel. It's 30 bucks and has amazing flavors.
The EW Single Barrel is 86 proof and the finest of the EW line. Was visiting a Binny's in Chicago and a display had store picks which included the EW Single Barrel and decided to give it a try. I must agree with you - it is amazing especially at that price point.
Evan Williams is definitely looked over more than it should. It's definitely one of favorite, negotiably priced whiskeys. If you haven't tried it, I would highly recommend the EW Bottle in Bond. Dynamite taste, smooth drink thats is a great price for a whiskey that's 100 proof
got it, got it, got it (not the cool new bottle, but yeah), need it (not avail), got it, need it? never heard of them, got it, had it (need to refresh it, 12yo is good too) , got it (like the triple better), got it. You should try the Arran Bodega Sherry Cask. We have similar likes in Whisk[e]y, I think you'll dig it.
Russell's Reserve Single Barrel has become my favorite cigar pairing bourbon. It holds up well to most any cigar out there, even my beloved RoMa Craft Neanderthal. Tasty, tasty stuff.
I can often get Woodford Reserve for very good prices over here in the UK. I always thought it was a great neat bourbon, but I'm not a bourbon expert. However, I'm very fortunate, great Scotch is pretty affordable where I am. I have a particular weakness for good Japanese whiskey though, it occupies a third space between bourbons and scotch, in my inexpert opinion.
I laughed when I saw the Blue Run on the table. Your suggestions were good. For anyone watching this, keep in mind the Jack Daniels Single Barrel Barrel Prood is HIGH ABV. Takes some getting used to. I think the only one I disagree with is Macallan 15 but to put 9/10 that I agree totally with is a heck of a thing. Nicely done Jeremy
Ya I prefer the regular JD single barrel to the barrel proof. To me, barrel proofs are like IPAs, in that whiskey / beer snobs love them but the average person doesn’t.
Pretty solid list. All easily available in Texas of the North - Alberta 🇨🇦. I would say save your pennies and go from glendronach 15 - 21 Year and get Glenfarclas 15 in replace of the aforementioned 15 year. Lol and macallan is the BMW of the scotch world . People may hate on them to hate on them but at the end of the day they make a good product even if it’s 20% over inflated. Imo lag 16 is the smoothest islay that could be easily a daily sipper if not for the price. Ardbegs to my pallet are sweeter brighter but also spikier and saltier (not sure if that’s a word. Oh well). Give the Offermen Guinness ardbeg a go. You can definitely taste the influence and the bottle information is a cut up! Thanks for the great video as always!
My go to whiskies. 1) Michters Small Batch, Rye, Sour Mash and Michters American Whiskey 2) Russell’s Reserve 3) Buffalo Trace 4) Smooth Ambler Contradiction 5) Wild Turkey Rare Breed 6) David Nicholson 1843 7) Old Forester (1870,1897,1910,1920,Statesmen) 8) Monkey Shoulder 9) 1792 Bib, Single Barrel 10) Eagle Rare. I do have a Macallan 12 Sherry Cask, Glenfiddich Fire & Cane, Glenlivet Caribbean Rum Cask, Teeling Rum Cask. Plenty of others too I’m not mentioning.
Great concept for a video. Macallan 15 is a pale shade of what it once was. I would recommend Glenfarclas 12 instead or Aberlour if you want to go for sherry influenced whisky that has great flavor. They're both much cheaper than Macallan in addition to being much better.
Or, try the Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 14 year, with its tasty port finish. Yum! If you willing to squander another twenty bucks beyond the Glenmorangie, snap up a bottle of Auchentoshan Three Wood. You'll get that sherry finish.
Im not a bourbon expert by any means, but some I always keep stocked are WT 101, 1792 small batch, Makers Mark, Larceny and Four Roses small Batch. For Russels, I keep the 10 year. I own lots of others but I usually replace these as they are used up. Thank for the great video. One question, where/how would someone sell some rarer or harder to find bottles of bourbon? I have some I am interested in selling.
Was visiting family in kentucky and on the drive stopped by the Jack Daniels distillery and picked up two bottles of the single barrel you showed off here. At the actual distillery they give you ones that have been hand selected by their master distiller and they’re actually roughly the same price as their other whiskeys.
Macallan makes you pay for that "luxury" feeling, they have great marketing. But you definitely pay more than you should for the quality given their name.
The three lines I use to introduce bourbon to people are Wild Turkey (101, RR, Rare Breed), Old Forester (100, 1920), and Old Grand Dad (100, 114). Start with the low end but higher proof entry levels and advance to those higher end but affordable lines. WT and OF have fabulous affordable ryes as well (WT101 Rye, OF Rye) to find out what people like before they dive into Pikesville or others (Rare Breed Rye, Sagamore, Woodinville). I don’t do the “line” treatment with Jack except for entering at Single Barrel but probably my all-time favorite available “bourbon” is the Single Barrel Barrel Proof as noted here. But entry level people choke on the proof! Also, I always include Barrell Dovetail. Why? Off-camber, available and WOW. Once people get used to the rest, introduce something like Dovetail and they understand how diverse and phenomenal things can get with a little imagination. On scotch, I’m pretty much an Islay guy, as I enjoy being kicked in my groin area by my scotch. Laphroaig 10. You can stop there. Or Ardbeg Corryvreckan (over Uigeadal) or the latest hitter, Bruichladdich Port Charlotte 10. Or Lagavulin (anything Offerman). So much for my two cents! Nice video here-right down the middle, provides people a great foundation.
I was wanting to try bourbon and the guy in the liquor store recommended wild Turkey 101 and it was the most disgusting shit I've ever tasted in my life. What bourbon should I try next?
@@ForThePeople777 I certainly understand! Wild Turkey 101 is not an entry-level bourbon for some because of the 101 proof. For some, bourbon is called an “acquired taste,” that is, you need to stick with it for awhile. Drink it in small sips, with water or ice. Big drinks can overpower the experience. You might want to try Irish whiskeys or perhaps an 80-proof Scotch (anything Speyside) which some find easier to drink right out of the gate. I find some can handle Basil Hayden’s bourbon as an entry drink. But everyone is different. Don’t throw away that Wild Turkey. You might ease into it a bit and find a way to acquire a taste for it!
This is a great list. They're all accessible and all very good, although I haven't tried a whole lot of Macallen, so I can't really comment on the Macallen 15. I was thinking about trying a bottle of the 15 ironically enough though. The rest of the list I definitely vouch for, and I'd probably add Wild Turkey Rare Breed, Four Roses Single Barrel, and Knob Creek 12 as well.
Rare Breed is excellent! I have tried Macallen 12 Double Cask and just can't get behind it. Also I have found that Knob Creek 9 is not a great sipping whiskey for me but it works really well in an Old Fashioned. I think I have found that I do not like over sherried/long finished whiskeys just a touch of finishing... a kiss of finishing is more to my liking. A ton of people really dig Macallen. Some sherry finish stuff gets a little nail polishy/acetone/fake sweetener aftertaste which is not pleasant for me.
@@ShaneTheGeek Hi. I too own WT Rare Breed but so far it has been a bit too hot for me. do you water it down a little or does it just take a little bit to get used to?
@@derpilzmann I do not add water to my glass and drink exclusively through Glencairns. I tend to sip gingerly and breathe outwards from my mouth once or twice to cool the whisky before letting it go down the hatch. Afterwards breathing in through the nose then exhaling out. It could simply be a really heavy cinnamon note to your specific bottle but do give it a try drinking more slowly and breathing deliberately using a Glencairn glass. Let me know if this method helps... Cheers!!!
This one is a Masterclass for all youtubers and content creators . Beautiful, interesting and entertaining. I watched it several times and I never get tired of it!
So glad to see you included the Jack Daniels Barrel Proof. It's stunning, and an unbelievable "PROOF" bargain. 1920. WT 101. Russell's Reserve,... eh. The 2 Scotch's are on point Spey and Islay reps. Red Breast Cask is very good. Ardbeg,.. Smokey peaty wonderfulness. MaCallan is the Blantons of Scotch.
I like this list! The only whiskey not included that I would consider a "must" is Maker's 46. It's the perfect combo of price and quality for a wheated bourbon.
I bought Deveron 12 yo today and tasted it. I think it should be one in the "arsenal". It is a really clean whisky. Kinda light. To me it tasted like a light version of Macallan 12yo. Some might disagree. But at the price its really worth the money. Perfect whisky for the warmer months of the year I think. Usually when it gets colder and darker I tend to drink Islay malts that tastes more of alcohol than this one. This one is a perfect gift to someone that is stuck in the "terrible" swamp of blended whisky were most tastes like melted plastic toys in alcohol (Yes Famous Grouse, I'm looking at you and your friends). Even though it doesn't, to me, tastes like a lot of alcohol and its taste isn't as full as most whiskys its almost a "must have" in the collection to offer someone that "hates" whisky to maybe spark some interest. This is really an interesting whisky. After a couple of sips.... you really start to suck out all of the aftertaste. Kinda like if you just had your last toffee and want more candy. Most whiskies are powerful in their taste but this one is interestingly subtle
The only bottles on this list in my collection are: Woodford Double Oak, Wild Turkey 101, and Ardbeg. Eagle Rare is another of my Go-To whiskeys, which depending on where you are in the country is always in stock, or more elusive. Solid list though.
If you haven't yet, try something from Teeling for Irish and Arran for Scotch...you won't be disappointed. Question: I've only had a Macanudo what is my next step for a cigar a Little bolder but not crazy?
First of all... I want to humbly thank you, not just for all the vlogs, but for the education that you share, I'm thankful that I subscribed to your channel. cigars, whiskey, gear.. what more can a person ask for. I'm not just speaking for myself, I'm sure that others on your channel feel the same. All we ask is that you continue to produce awesome work. Thank you for the vlog. I have to come to Florida one day to smoke a stick and drink a drink. We all appreciate you, sir.
Hey Jeremy! Went out to my local (Central Coast, New South Wales, Australia) and bought a bottle of Wild Turkey 101 and I am so glad I did. I am a fan of Rye whiskies and I can really taste the rye notes in this bourbon. It has really made my evening after a long week. Thanks for the recommendations!
Some that I recommend are Johnny Walker Black Label for regularly blended scotch, Crown Royale & Forty Creek Barrel Select as my Canadian picks. For OG tastes, there is Glenlivet SEs, Glenddich 15y, and Old Pulteney 12y.
I live in Scotland and we have so many distilleries here but I just don't like Scottish Whisky. I find it too peaty, too sharp. I'm a real fan of Kentucky Bourbons and Irish Whiskies.
I've had some pretty good Scotches, but I really love good Irish Whisky. Anything Redbreast or any of the "Spot" whiskies. I have the whole Spot collection now and they're all excellent. If you can find the Red Spot 15 yr...buy it.
Islay’s are so much more complex. They are the best spirits ever put on this earth. That being said. The best whiskey is the one you like to drink the way you like to drink it. Have you tried Spaysides? Much more friendly. Very fruity.
@@skuzzy8u I'll add it to the list. And yeah I like Islays. Just getting into Scotch a bit. I do have The Classic Laddie by Bruichladdich on my shelf and really enjoy that one, but I tried Port Charlotte and actually like that one more. Can't recall which one that was though.
@@skuzzy8u I have tried Speyside whisky's as well but still I'm not fond of Scottish whisky (not spelled whiskey). I much more prefer a Wild Turkey, Woodford Reserve, Bulleit etc. I don't have expensive taste buds though.🙂
Try Balvenie 12 doublewood then. Bourbon is ok but you can’t compare it with scotch. The variety scotch has doesn’t exist in bourbon. The complexity scotch has doesn’t exist in bourbon either. Drinking scotch is taking a trip of flavors. It changes from one sip to the next one. It’s an experience. No other spirit in the world offers you that.
I dig that version of "Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City". Tennessee Whiskey, like the Jack Daniels you showed, does fall under the definition of Bourbon. You definitely have some key staples of Bourbon selections. I'm not as familiar with the Scotch. So, thanks for the advice there.
The reason Tennessee whiskey is often classified different from bourbon is that they use what's called the Lincoln County Process, which essentially means its charcoal filtered. Also since bourbon is commonly associated with Kentucky, although it can be made anywhere in the USA, there may be some border rivalry going on there lol.
I had two friends that were feeling generous on my birthday and they both know I love Macallan. They didn't consult with each other and I wound up with two bottles! I'm in heaven!

I love your editing, man. One of the few channels i take some editing inspiration from. I sometimes feature some whiskeys on my channel and i outta start doing those cool little features you do. Classy stuff, mate.
Agree with almost every pick with the exception of Macallan (disappointing palate) and Ardbeg. Everyone has their particular Islay. Laphroaig is my jam. Good list overall. Be sure to pick up a Glendronach before they are all chill filtered.
The Glendronach 15 and Ardbeg Uigeadail are my thing, they're exceptional. The Arran Sherry cask is also amazing and a bit like Glendronach 15. I haven't tried the others, will give some a try.
I was watching Kurt over on SLB Drinks and his special occasion only, slow sipping whiskey he owns is the Redbreast 27 Yr. Old. And he said that ANY Redbreast pours at any price point is a must have. The 27 Yr Old is going from $500 to $700 depending on availability and where you find it, so I was not surprised at all that you grabbed a bottle when you went to the Europe offerings. Liked and subbed.
thanks for this list. this tells me i need to get out of comfort zone and try other whiskeys. i normally stick with my routine Crown royal and Jack daniel. After watching this video i realize there are a lot that im missing out on.
The most I've ever seen Wild Turkey 101 go for in my neck of the woods (Kansas City) is $22. And the last couple of bottles I bought, it's been under $19. As you can imagine, it's my daily drinker. It's too good and too cheap not to consume like water. The Uigeadail is the most expensive whiskey in my collection. And... it's my favorite. I drink it sparingly, because I dread not having any left. It is magic!
I do not have as much drinking Scotch, but really enjoyed Laphroaig 10. As far as the list of ones that I am familiar with, I agree on the Bourbons, Rye and Redbreast. The biggest surprise out there is how easily accessible Pikesville is. Great Rye, esp if you do not like the minty flavors of the high ryes.
Loved the video man keep it up, had to add a few more bottles to the collection after this :). I'm from over in Ireland here and if you are just getting into trying better Irish whiskey another two distilleries which you 100% have to try are Teeling and Glendalough whiskey
@@EscobarStyle from Spot whiskey there are only 4 I know of. Yellow Spot, Blue Spot, Red Spot and Green Spot. They are all excellent, but definitely Greenspot is my favorite. It is affordable, easily accessible and those green apple notes are unsurpassed. It is smooth and so rich in flavor. You will absolutely love it. Some of the best from Ireland.
Yes one of my favorites is on here. Jack Daniel's Single Barrel. I use to love black label but the older I get my stomach can't stand it but Single barrel I have no issues. I also love Winter Jack.
Really enjoyed the video, for those who also want something similar to Macallan but slightly more affordable (because not all of us can pay that price all the time) Suntory makes a bottle of Toki it’s similar enough in taste but about half the price in most places. It’s good, but if you have the money go for the Macallan
I heard a grand on whiskey in a month and laughed. My wife isn’t too happy. But that’s because each trip to the store usually costs almost a grand. 240+ bottles on the shelf is hard to hide. Its so darn addicting That said I 100% agree with this list. The JD SiB Barrel Proof is one of my staples to this day. I always keep a stockpile of it. I dont keep woodford double oaked anymore, but it was one of the ones that started me off. Russels single barrel is also incredible for the price and availability!
I was kind of turned off to Scotch. I have a large whiskey collection. If I didn't have the whiskey that you recommended I had something close like the red breast 12 or the Jack Daniels single barrel rye. I drank in the order that you delivered in the video and at the end revisited ardbeg wee beast, and your description of maple bacon, smoked ham, bonfire allowed me to enjoy Scotch again.
I have always been a Scotch man, but respect a nice Bourbon, that being said I had Woodford Reserve on Alaska Airlines and fell in love!! Im not sure what flavor though, so i will have to try them all. Thanks for the video!
As far as staple Islays go, Talisker Storm is a must. I've heard it could be better than their 10 year, but can't confirm. Can confirm that it is a great introduction to peaty whiskey without being immediately blown out by it.
without knowing anything but what I like... Woodford has always been on the top of my list. lately I've been exploring hence the reason for watching these videos. very helpful. 101... jack... knob creek and bulleit round out my top five. but we've only just begun...
great video and so insightful, i am a jack Daniels guy an finding new ways to enjoy it ,tried it as alcohol mist balloon shot and wow enjoyed it , thanks for the video
Just tried the Russel reserve for the first time man that stuff is good. It is a bit warm but i can definitely taste more of the notes than I can from some of the lower proofs
Never had russels reserve sb. Only had the 10 year which I think is amazing. OF1920 is my favorite bourbon though, and I’ve only been into bourbon since this year.

Blue Run is alright... it's not Blanton's Straight or E. H. Taylor Barrel Proof, or even Elijah Craig BP... Barrel Proof is where the flavor is.
Or any of the BT Antique Collection... or Stagg Jr... or anything with heft... it's not hefty
well done list i really enjoyed that
Just ordered the skin stuff. Figure at 39 I should take care of my skin…
My go to is Buffalo Trace but I alternate between so many. To your point I agree the Old Forester is a must have. Very approachable and cost efficient.
Solid list, but you should definitely add Oban Little Bay to the collection. Insane value for a damn near perfect scotch.
My “collection” is usually whiskeys I didn’t like because I drank all the good ones already
I’m with you. I’ve managed to hold on to two bottles of E.H. Taylor small batch. They wink at me whenever I walk by so they may not be long for this world.
I honestly still dont understand how people can just sip a glencairn without slowly starting to take fat slugs and end up drinking 12 ounces
hahahahaha, that does happen. I've been trying to work through the bad ones to free up space.
@@zacharyclarke4240 that’s called alcoholism.

I don’t think I have ever had a bad bottle of Woodford. That being said, thank you for keeping these lists in the real for those of us on a budget.

Lagavulin 16 is lovely
I agree with this list wholeheartedly. I would add Elijah Craig barrel proof, Knob Creek Single Barrel, Makers 46 for a budget choice
For me, the 18 year old Glendronach is incredible, it's a significant step up from the 15, highly recommend it! Great video Jeremy, cheers!
She's approachable that's for sure. I good bottle to start on like Buffalo Trace.
Glendronach absolutely fabulous!
@bradmorgan8, where in Australia are you because dab Murphy has it for $86 on special n trying to find it cheap. Lol
@jarrydshokavich1609 yeah that was before they jacked the prices up hahah. I miss the cheap prices now. Lagavulin 16 for $199 dollars... no thanks. 👎
Agree!! Glenfeddich is another awesome one.
Man the Redbreast 12 cask strength is one of my absolute favorite whiskeys!! That flavor profile is addictive to me!!
Double Oaked was my 2nd bottle, pretty strong for a beginner but the more I drank it the more I loved it. I would add Elijah Craig small batch and four roses single barrel to that list. Pretty easy to find as well, at least in California.
Elijah Craig small batch was my first bourbon and i absolutely love it.
We have the same palate. Cheers
Sounds wonderful, trying this tonight!
If you're a fan of sherry cask finished whiskeys, I have to recommend Wyoming Whiskey Double Cask. The bourbon and sherry notes swirl together in an amazing combination of flavors that has made it one of my favorites.
For me its Bushmills Black Bush. But then again I'm Irish so I don't get all the fuss over bourbon lol
The Balveine Double-wood is my all-time favorite. Talisker Storm is another that has tickled my fancy as of well.
Storm is perfect

@2:30 Woodford Reserve Double Oaked....my favorite. Always have a bottle of that around my house.
Wild Turkey 101 is my go-to for cocktails for the exact reasons you stated. Great bang for the buck.
I really enjoy 101 in a hot toddy if ya ever wanna give that a try. I just do 101 with earl grey honey little cinnamon and nutmeg.
Just got a EW SB two days ago for $28. Was absolutely blown away by the flavor and price!!
1897 very good...1920 my fav...🤔1920 & 1897 could be a banger!
got it, got it, got it (not the cool new bottle, but yeah), need it (not avail), got it, need it? never heard of them, got it, had it (need to refresh it, 12yo is good too) , got it (like the triple better), got it.
With a cigar, really!? Now I want to find this Russell for sure! Hopefully not to hard to find around here. Thanks Patrick 💨
It’s a great bottle! 😉👍🏻
@@JeremySiers but hopefully I can find it 🙏🏼
I can often get Woodford Reserve for very good prices over here in the UK.
Speaking of Irish whiskey: Green Spot. One of my favorites
Not bad. But ever since redbreast 15 I can’t drink green spot that much anymore
😜 I knew I’d get a couple folks with that Blue run.
I did a tour at Jack Daniels, this is the bottle I ended up buying after the tour and walking out with. it was rough but it tasted so good
Pretty solid list.
Turkey. Boom. Done.
I think you misspelled that first part. It’s spelled Woodford Double Oaked
Gobble fucking gobble baby! 101 will always be my go to!
Rare Breed is a fantastic whiskey from Wild Turkey
@@notyourrealfather rare breed only. Agreed
Anything but longbranch
My go to whiskies.
1) Michters Small Batch, Rye, Sour Mash and Michters American Whiskey
2) Russell’s Reserve
3) Buffalo Trace
4) Smooth Ambler Contradiction
5) Wild Turkey Rare Breed
6) David Nicholson 1843
7) Old Forester (1870,1897,1910,1920,Statesmen)
8) Monkey Shoulder
9) 1792 Bib, Single Barrel
10) Eagle Rare.
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked is so so good. I love on the rocks or in a Gold Rush.
It’s been my go to Bourbon for a while. So good.
Rare breed is too good
Rare breed should be on the list
At least I got two on my shelf, the Woodford and the Ardbeg! Love both of them. Greetings from Germany.
Ich bin mehr der Jack Daniels-Typ, auch Blantons Bourbon seit Kurzem.
ER is so good for ~$30 a bottle. Very hard to find in SoCal...but I've been able to find it and make sure I have a bottle or 2 in reserves.
Eagle Rare is very easy to find here in Australia. But it’s 90 AUD a bottle. Which is approx 66 USD
@@jonathanwilliams1974 yup…. Some small store charge up to $70 for an ER
@@jayjackson85 Ouch!
Eagle Rare is my go to whiskey. I go through a few bottles of it a year and at $37.99 at my local shop it's a steal.
Appreciate the kind words my friend! Always great to hear my man. Glad you enjoy the content. 😉👊🏻
You honestly can't go wrong with a bottle of Jack. My all time favs in order of admiration:
1. Single Barrel
2. Gentleman Jack
3. Old no.7
Bourbon guy here. Love Four Roses, Woodford, Jack single barrel, Eagle Rare, Bullitte, and lots more.
That Jack is off the hook. I've got everything on this list except the Blue Run 😅
Youre on my list brian
Try these two. Jamison Black barrel and Forty Creek, won't disappoint
No Elijah Craig? Great video as always. Love the music too. What is that tune?
I was going to mention the same, but it's pretty bourbon heavy already.
Elijah Craig is elliiittttteeeee! Haha
I love the rustic setting for the video. The old style incandescent lighting really adds to the classic atmosphere.
Thank you for including an Islay. I love peaty smoke whisky.
I tried my first rye the other night. And I've gotta say, Wild Turkey Rye goes great with low & slow BBQ. It's definitely on the shopping list now
😋
If you liked WT rye you should try Bulleit rye at this price point, and eventually a Michters straight rye. Bullet rye is my go to rye.
Appreciate that brotha!
Buffalo Trace, Pikesville Rye, Monkey Shoulder, New Riff BIB, High West Double Rye, Henry McKenna 10 yr BIB are 5 right now that I really dig
Agree with almost every pick with the exception of Macallan (disappointing palate) and Ardbeg. Everyone has their particular Islay. Laphroaig is my jam. Good list overall. Be sure to pick up a Glendronach before they are all chill filtered.
Dude I don't know what it is about you but, I could listen to you talk about whiskeys all night! Just subscribed!!
Great video! Love your commentary on each of the whiskeys including Blue Run.
thanks for this list. this tells me i need to get out of comfort zone and try other whiskeys. i normally stick with my routine Crown royal and Jack daniel.
Uigeadail is in my top 3 all time whiskies...so good I named my dog after it!
I'm from over in Ireland here and if you are just getting into trying better Irish whiskey another two distilleries which you 100% have to try are Teeling and Glendalough whiskey
you need to try Bushmills Black Bush blended whiskey and Bushmills 16 & 21 year old single malts.
I am slowly changing my pallet towards Irish whiskey. It’s just amazing so far with Redbreast and my go to Glendalough 13. 🤤 in my opinion of course.
Green spot is amazing
@@jskypercussion oh yeah!? Which one?
@@EscobarStyle from Spot whiskey there are only 4 I know of. Yellow Spot, Blue Spot, Red Spot and Green Spot. They are all excellent, but definitely Greenspot is my favorite.
Toki is a nice drop but folks should know is a blend. A good blend though!
What about Chivas Regal’s 13 yrs aged? Do you like it
This video was awesome Jermy. Your editing skills are seriously on point. Great vid and awesome picks. Well done Father Time 🥃
Nearly my comment verbatim! Cheers, Dave!
I also love this video. I also want to know what music you used when presenting each bottle and background music 🎶. Very classy.
If you like 1920 and 1910, try a 50/50 blend of those
My fav so far is Jack Daniels but the one it all started with was my grandpa's fav Chivas Regal. Any thoughts on Chivas?
I like how you compared Ardbeg to Pantera, did the same analogy when explained the whisky to my wife lol.
Anyway, great video!
Glendronach is the sherry bomb that Macallan should be. Fantastic whisky. Shame they've started chill filtering more recently though.
I heard a grand on whiskey in a month and laughed. My wife isn’t too happy. But that’s because each trip to the store usually costs almost a grand. 240+ bottles on the shelf is hard to hide.
Its so darn addicting
That said I 100% agree with this list. The JD SiB Barrel Proof is one of my staples to this day. I always keep a stockpile of it. I dont keep woodford double oaked anymore, but it was one of the ones that started me off. Russels single barrel is also incredible for the price and availability!
Btw I'm watching this at 9am and now I wanna pour out my coffee and make a neat whiskey!
It’s 5 o’clock somewhere 😜
I'd be very lucky to find even three of those bottles here in North Carolina. I've NEVER seen some of them on the shelf in VA, TN, NC or SC.
My go to islay is lagavulin 16. Glad I have some new bottles to look out for!
Around here (sw Va) the Daviess county bourbon has become widely available. I highly recommend it.
The Scotch Whisky I always recommend is CAOL ILA. Every one is exceptional but the 18 year old is just that little bit special.
Some of the older ones are awesome. I’ve got a 30yo which blows the mind!
Opening sequence has an Oris watch. And its about whiskey. Ive never subscribed to a channel faster than i did just now. Salute!
man it is because of you that i will never be without a bottle of redbreast 12. Not normally crazy about irish whiskey but damn is that stuff good.
I have always been a Scotch man, but respect a nice Bourbon, that being said I had Woodford Reserve on Alaska Airlines and fell in love!! Im not sure what flavor though, so i will have to try them all. Thanks for the video!
This video inspired me to go get a bottle of Wild Turkey 101 and make a whiskey sour tonight. Cheers 🥃
Great video 👍, may I suggest a few more, Green spot and Red spot Irish whiskey but one of the best Irish whiskey is Midleton Whiskey 🇮🇪☘
The video quality and production quality is wonderful. The warm tones are great.
I may give the Irish another try. I find Bushmills and Jameson undrinkable. I'll try the Redbreast.
When I was in Ireland for our honeymoon I picked up a bottle of the Red Brest 21. My god it’s absolutely fantastic!
Never had russels reserve sb. Only had the 10 year which I think is amazing. OF1920 is my favorite bourbon though, and I’ve only been into bourbon since this year.
