    Thank God, finally a accurate video on installation in a Dodge Charger. I am so tired of hearing people say "well a store quoting me this much to install it to the radio". The radio?? WTF LOL. A actual car audio shop will gladly tell you straight up that it would be better to tap into the speakers in the back which is 100% accurate. The radio works as part of the car's computer and will 100% void the warranty if there is any. I also do not recommend adjusting the levels on the Line Output Converter (LOC) at all. It is best to keep it all the way low not connected to a bass knob and adjust straight from the amp. It is also best to go into the radio and put the bass to -9. Just some tips for people watching this awesome tutorial.

      Thank you for this comment. I had to adjust the loc levels due to having no bass whatsoever until I did so. And honestly, I’m still learning about sound systems but I found out that you can tap into the rear speaker wires without creating much if any interference. Glad the video helped. I know I missed somethings but hope it was enough that you got yours installed.

      Oh, nice. Well, could you give me any other tips on what to get to support a .5 ohm load. I either have to wire to 2 ohms or .5 ohms. I figured I didn’t have the electrical (stock with extra battery and 2 of big 3 upgraded) to support .5 ohms so I went with 2. I’m probably only pushing half or a little less than half the max power that my subs are rated for.

    • @romanianfps
      @romanianfps 4 роки тому

      @@reynasinstalls5050 Personally I have never seen any .5 ohm installs mostly because people either did it themselves or only went to 1ohm. I have seen a .5 ohm install outside of work and it failed terribly. I would for sure go with 0 gauge OFC, make sure your amp can handle the power and of course install proper alternators and battery. I reccomend wiring to 1 ohm but that's just personal opinion. I have a stock battery and alternator and it doesnt even dip down more than 2 volts and it can literally shake building windows.

      romanian fps sadly, I cant wire to 1 ohm. Or else that’s where I’d be at. I have 0/1 welding cable and a skar skv2 4500.1d in my system. Pushing out, maybe around 1500 watts rms right now.

    So I did the same thing with mine’ I tapped into the rear speaker wire but I have a problem. I don’t want the bass in my door speakers to be turned up all the way. But if I got into my stereo settings and turn the bass down it also turns to subs down. I want my subs to handle the bass not my speakers. I have the 5 inch by the way. Any tips?

      Get an amp that comes with a bass knob. That way when you lower the bass on the stereo, you can use the bass knob to bring the bass coming out of your subs back to the level you want it at

    • @reynasinstalls5050
      @reynasinstalls5050  2 роки тому

      The yellow wire can be hooked up to your battery positive or amp 12+ terminal. It WILL NOT go to your alternator. Wiring is rated for amps. For a 500 watt system, you may want to try 8 gauge welding cable with a 50 amp fuse. The lights will dim when the bass hits if you are running on stock electrical. As for the smell, if you hook everything up properly, you shouldn't have any hot wires. Check your system and make sure everything is hooked up correctly. Ive had mine installed for about 5 years now. I haven't had any "burning wires" smell.

      I did a bit of research and testing for my speakers install prior to this one. The line out converter comes with wires. However, those wires are only about 4-6 inches in length. You will need extra wire (not included) for them to reach the speakers.

    I hope you’re still replying, I want to keep the back two speakers stock and they have that white connecter intact, but I want to add a monoblock and a sub, but how do you connect the audio source to the amp do I have to get an converter thing and tap into the wires(I’m new to this)

    • @reynasinstalls5050
      @reynasinstalls5050  Рік тому

      Yes, you will need a line out converter. You will have to tap into your speaker wires (DO NOT CUT THEM) and give you a source to connect your RCA cables into. This way you don’t have to remove your stereo and connect them to the back. Some line out converters (Schoche 2scl) will also come with an integrated remote wire which will turn your amp off when your car turns off. I got one at Walmart for 20$ about 3 years ago. It’s still hard at it 👌

I would connect the front left speakers to each other, the back left speakers to each other, the front right speakers to each other and the back right speakers to each other. Then I would connect them all to their own channel on the amp. Hope this helps

      The blue wire coming out of the line out converter goes straight to the remote terminal on the amp. It doesn’t go anywhere else. The amp should turn off on its own about 1-2 minutes after your car turns off

    When that trunk seal fails from the subwoofers vibrating the lid that trunk is going to fill up with water like a big soup bowl. Been there done that. Don't ever put your amplifier where your spare tire goes unless you're okay with it eventually being underwater.

    @lorenzogoss1641 Рік тому

    Just going to say you really dont need to run all that wire for a line out converter keep it simple and just hook your two positives together and two negatives together on your LOC and tap into the positive and the negative on one of the speakers and your done. Hook your cables up to LOC and just run thos to your amp and leave the LOC in the top panel. Piece of cake!

    • @reynasinstalls5050
      @reynasinstalls5050  Рік тому

      For subwoofers, this would definitely work and if i were to have know about this 3 years ago (when i was learning how to install systems) i would definitely have done just that. It wouldn't be preferable when wiring up an LOC for a speaker amp though, unless you don't care for the "stereo sound".

      You can try doing the big 3 upgrade to your electrical. Or you can get and install a second battery or a higher output alternator. All three of those options should help. I have 2 out of the big three upgraded with 0/1 welding cable and a second battery with stock 180 amp alternator. I’m resting at 14.6 volts and my voltage only drops .1-.2v at full tilt. But to be fair, I’m only running 1500 watts rms.

      Brian Romero there’s really not much to it. The bass knob will come with the amp if the amp can have one. If it does come with one, you should be able to tell where it’s gonna go almost right away. The second battery, you will just connect both negatives together and both positive together. You will just need connectors for the second battery to attach some wires. But if you would like me to make a video on that, I can certainly do that

You just have to know what you're doing.
