  • Time to get busy installing some car audio goodies inside the Toyota Corolla, everyone!!! Today we'll show how to connect and hook up a stock radio to a powered NVX line output converter. The XFLOC2 (LOC) takes factory speaker outputs coming from your cars stereo system, and lowers the voltage to much safer levels for wiring RCA wires to aftermarket amplifiers. The (2 channel) rear speakers will provide all the signal needed to convert from high to low level RCA. That way adding an upgraded subwoofer and bass amplifier to a stock head unit can be an easy installation, and fully adjustable with this adapter connected! Thanks For Watching!!!

All i did was run the output converter directly to the stock speaker wires i didnt reconnect the 6x9 stock speakers could that be the issue with sub amp shutting off?

    I've used this handy device on my scion xB and my Mercury. Mine has an optional volume knob; I used it on the xB but not the Merc, I just use the head unit to control the bass. Simplified things to do it that way. Either way, a good thing to use when you don't want to screw with stuff behind the dash just to find no RCA's, and once the volumes are adjusted the way you need them, (mine is also internally adjustable), works like a charm. Set it and forget it. Good vid, Exo.

    Exo I'm a big fan hate telling people things in text cuz it comes across rude but you should clean the paint of underneath your ground wire that way it doesn't create excess heat on your amplifier and a weak ground because the heat dissipates through the ground and the heat sink fins on the amp if the ground Cant ground through the paint it'll create excess heat in your amplifier just a helpful tip then once the ground is installed take some touch up paint and cover over top to prevent rust thanks for the vids you rock

    EXO, have you ever thinked about making an informational video about "what makes a subwoofer loud"?
    Like, when you explain where you have to be careful when choosing a subwoofer, what it's the most important thing to look before buying a subwoofer?
    I'm trying to learn more about subwoofers, as I watched videos for more than 10 years every day, but never learned something.
    I couldn't find any video or topic on the internet forward this subject and I thought you're the one who could make a great job with that.

    • @ianweaver9743
      @ianweaver9743 5 років тому

      I'm not EXO by any means mor ia this a video how ever maybe I can enlighten you a little. Sound is nothimg but the movement of air. There is alot of technical stuff I'm about frequencies In which that air is moving. He will probably if he hasnt already shown one making those frequencies visible. But to answer your actual question of what makes a subwoofer loud is the frequency. Subwoofers hit a substantially lower frequency that can actually be felt through the vehicle and through other parts of your body other than just the ears. After adding a subwoofer it's no longer just hearing the music but actually feeling it with the rest of your body as well. I hope That helps and I didnt just fall victim to a troller. Also not trying to take anything away from exo either but I'll post another comment with a link to where a gentleman makes it to where you can see those sound frequencies with science.

    • @bassheadadam6543
      @bassheadadam6543 3 роки тому +3

      The remote wire( blue) goes too your amp for the aftermarket subwoorfers this is meant for, you would use this device too either get rca or remote if you dont have one wich most stock head units do not. The broun wire he didnt use in the video but basicly when he turned his car on he was checking if the red light would come on signaling it was on and working correctly this broun wire is only used when you dont get the red like or sound from the sepakers. In this case he didnt need too use it though.

    Another great video man, you always make things so easy to follow. Not sure if you said it in the vid, but are you taking precautions against the feedback loop from sub-woofers to rear deck speakers? Sometimes the pressure from the sub-woofers will move the cones of the rear deck speakers which causes voltage fluctuation in the signal line that goes into the converter. This then sends a feedback hum to the amplifier. Not sure if that converter has protection against that, but a solution I used to do was to use little plastic pods to cover the rear of the speakers and separate them from the trunk's airspace.

    I could be wrong but I have an LC2i and I think ideally you'd tap into a door speaker for a wider band to send to the sub where you can manually tune subsonic and high pass frequencies to better match whatever sub you have. For instance I might be lucky to be getting 50% give or take of what my 15" 2500 watt setup could do til I ditch the rear tap and go to the front more untouched signal. Of course if you're putting smaller subs in those factory tunes might be close to where you need to be but I think being able to really tune it in yourself regardless is the way to go to get the most optimal sound possible.

    I want to do something for my mom's 2016 CRV. She wants it a little louder but doesn't know how to use new high tech stereo systems. I'd get her two 8" subs. Maybe some explode 6by9s and explode door speakers two 8" subs w/500 watt 2 Channel & capacitor. 400 watt 4 channel for back, front & factory tweeters. Should be good enough for my mom. Factory stereo has an equalizer so I can make it sound perfect that match that amplifiers get the best possible sound at Max. No Distortion just crystal clear balanced. I built at least 13 systems. So I know I can make a factory setup work I never tried it though.

    That’s why I use butt connectors and shrink tube easier and quicker and if you know what your doing it’s just as strong. I install water well pumps the same way for 20 years and those connections last under water that long and I have pulled pumps by the wire that have had broken pipes so if you can pull hundreds of pounds on my connections I’m fine with them in my automotive needs.

    Bro, just use some brass crimp connectors, i know a lot of people swear by soldering wires but i promise you it creates just as good if not a better connection & you're not dripping solder all over.

    Exo. Man. You should have picked up signal from the Front Speakers. That way the bass and fronts are "almost in time" with each other.

      bro those signals in that old corolla arent timed lol, they all have the same signal front and back, no processing going on

    I usually twist them 2 times then wrap them. Even without solder the wires break when you try and pull them apart.

    Hi Exo, can I know how do you determine which pair of speakers (front or rear pairs) are the ones you should connect the LOC to. Also, is there such a thing as a 4 channel LOC? If so, will you be doing a video on that too? Thanks very much and great work dude!

    Loving the videos. Super helpful man. But why use carpet tape for the crimp connectors instead of heat shrink?
    Also, no rubber or carpet behind the line input converter? Won’t it rattle with the zip ties?
    👍🏼

    I have tested and have probably found the best Bluetooth receiver there is. I know you're installing a high-level to low-level converter but you can skip the factory set up entirely and not worry about the dirty signal from that factory head unit. Even being that simple it's probably got bass roll off in it keeping the owner of the car from blowing the speakers. Probably getting off 50hz and below. You end up making up for that with your bass boost on the amp.
    So why not skip that entirely and use your phone or tablet as your media player???
    Dual Electronics has really stepped their presence up over the last 2 years from Walmart purchasing two amplifiers from ds18 and re labeling them....the two channel is $30 right now by the way which is a crazy ass insane deal lol.... And this Bluetooth receiver with equalizer.
    Now I'm calling it exactly what it is. It's more of a Bluetooth receiver than it is an EQ. Of course dual wants to label it the other way. You can receive Bluetooth 4.0 signal from your phone or a single RCA input. It has 6 outputs and here's the best part..... They each are rated up to five volts! When I tested it I saw an average of 4.3 but still, considering Rockford Fosgate's Bluetooth receiver is the same price, has no EQ, and only has an output of 900 mv (not even a volt), at $60 shipped makes this thing and extremely great deal!
    Better yet not only can you stream from your phone it also has an app you can download to control the EQ, separate bass control, and fader and balance! And also has a place for a bass knob if you want to add one.
    All you have to do is get power and ground ....which will be easy considering it's right next to your amps.
    Another thing is that the device sees you when your phone connects and turns on the device and amplifier turn on lead to go to your amps!
    It's Bluetooth section utilizes A2DP AND A 24-BIT DAC the best sound quality via Bluetooth. I could not tell the difference in fact it sounded better then using the RCA inputs from an aftermarket head unit.
    Once again all you got to do is put it you're the amps and run your RCA's from it!
    It saves so much time since there's no soldering needed, no additional cable ran from the front, and you're able to bypass that factory head unit unless you have to have a CD player. that case I would go on eBay and buy a portable CD player and plug it into the RCA inputs LOL.
    Here is a link to it on eBay for sale....

    just to remember alot of newer cars have complete plug and play amp add on harnesses you can get. shouldn't have to splice into speaker wire then. but these work too.
