I really appreciate that you carved it all in one piece and didn't just carve both parts separately and glue the book on. The increased difficulty makes the carving even better.
I appreciate the compliment, but yes, getting under the duck to detail his feet was a feat 😂
so so cool thanks
Fantastic carving girl. Truly a artist!🪿 Enjoy your video's! Carve safe 🤙
Thank you, I enjoy making them :) Stay safe out there too!
What a great gift they will love it great job
Thank you 😊
Great goose, you give me inspiration for sculptures for my granddaughters. 😉👍🌺
AMAZING carving TayMarie! This is one I know you don’t mind giving up. Sweet memories! 😊
Hahaha you are definitely right, this one didn’t feel as bad to let go of 😂🫶🏼

Great Job TayMarie thanks for sharing
Great work Tay! Donald Hubbard? No I didn’t see the ear wigs…even in slo mo! Lol. The book idea turned out marvellous! 👍👍
Haha thank you and you can actually see the earwigs shoot out but they are only in like 3 to 5 frames, it’s super fast! So gross though…I was so confused at first 😂
Awesome!
Beau canard,bon travail
That's the cutest Duck i've seen before. Send you a big hug. 🤗
Isn’t he adorable 🥰
@@TayMarie23 Yes, he's more than this. 👍🥰
Best gift ever. The book idea was brilliant and you did the lettering so well. I did see the earwigs but I had to look frame by frame to see them. They kind of looked like tiny astronauts who had a bad day.
They are attracted to moisture so they kept crawling into my propane torch when I set it down since water is a byproduct of burning propane...gross! Crispy astronauts 😂
Your carvings are absolutely amazing well done
I greatly appreciate that, thank you!!!
Super job, you are getting to be an awesome carver
I appreciate that! I have a good one coming up that will really push me, can’t wait to share it with you all!
Great work! I love how bugs/slugs always get featured in your videos. Earwigs are nasty!
Hahaha I use to be terrified of all bugs (slugs are fine lol) but this job has forced me to deal with it 😂 But yes earwigs are EVERWHERE around here, I have to check my shoes every morning because I keep finding them in there 😬
Awesome job, you deserve more views and likes than what you get.
That was great . You done a wanderful job .
Very Nice!! Love the book idea!!
Very nice ladie so very gifted like you can see what you are carving in the log and you just take everything else off
Yup, carve away the negativity space until you like what’s left!
You did an amazing job on your duck. It looks like a real live one. I love it.
Thank you! My friend just sent me a picture of this duck with a Santa hat on and it made me so happy 😂💛
I'm new to your channel and have only watched maybe 5-8 videos so far. However, I appreciate that you are about the art and skill of the craft, not about dressing scantily under the chaps just to get more views.
I work a lot of hours, probably more than most…I just want to be comfortable 😆🫶🏼
😂😂😂 😮 ❤❤❤❤ what the? 😂 lol. Love you Tay! everything you do is just 🤯😵💫😛😁😁! Just awesome 👌
Haha thank you! This was definitely a fun one!
@TayMarie23 your are welcome . 🙂 I just Finished up carving a wooden pipe wrench, It was a challenge I accepted months ago. Posted a couple shorts yesterday. 😁
Omg Tay! I only just now noticed the details of the lettering on your book here. and what it must have been like to accomplish. BRAVO! ❤
Hello, greetings from Colombia. I am an admirer of yours. I am also a wood sculptor and I like your work. You are an inspiration to me.
Thank you for your kindness! 😊
Awesome
Hello, this is a beautiful artistic work ! Bye 😍
Haha thank you 🙏🏼
@@TayMarie23 With pleasure.
Really good piece. Hmm wondering now if a decoy size mallard would be difficult to carve? I’m a duck hunter so that enters my mind!! Awesome work honestly!!!
It might be hard to get a mallards feet correct and well detailed but if it was laying down on the base it would probably be very doable!
Madam. Duck sketch
it is amazing .
Beautiful 👍🏅🇸🇰😘
Thank you! Cheers! 😊
Hell yeah ❤
Question - What disc did you use on your angle grinder? Was it one of those saburtooth or kutzall discs or just a regular sanding disc? Also, the duck looks awesome. Love the book idea. Always trust your instinct and vision.
Just a flap sanding disc, somewhere between 60-120 grit :) The burr discs can be quite scary and jumpy, I stick with the sandpaper!
Wow. Really nice litte duck. How long did it take to work out the details?
I actually got the carving part done in a day and some change but the painting took FOREVER!
Cute lil duck. He's already accepted by the others. Lol.
I know right! They flocked right around him 😂
Wow, great carving. How did you get the letters painted so acurately?
Stencil 😉
Tay youre just getting better and better, thats quality, love the book to. hows the 2 new echos working out for you? you should do a lil review and test video, if you have the time! :)
I haven’t run them yet 😂 Been dealing with some stubborn back pain so it’s just been small bears here and there for the past few days. I just ordered an aftermarket 1/4 pitch sprocket for the 2511 and an 8” dime tip, so I’m waiting for those to come it before I run it! I will definitely give an honest review of them, and time will tell how they hold up to the daily abuse of carving!
@@TayMarie23 Ah no, do you suffer with back pain in general?Canon 8" bar? think its only them that do an 8 incher? Haha, very true, well Ryan cook uses them a lot from what i see, so they seem pretty reliable. Look forward to see if you can tempt me! :)
Always struggled with on and off back pain, I’m the the queen of holding myself in awkward and staining positions, I have been getting better and having the jaw horse has helped a lot…I just need to use it more 😂 but yes it’s a cannon! Should be in early next week along with the sprocket!
@@TayMarie23 Ah i know what you mean with awkward positions, im the same..i also have bad backs in the family, so possibly hereditary to. jaw horses are essentiaal id say, esp for smaller pieces. Excellent, will look forward to the review. p.s are you doing carving full time now?
Yes full time, about 30-40 hours a week 😊 A but less when it’s really raining like this week! I love it!!!!!
If you were as great a nurse as you are a chainsaw artist, the hospital and nursing field lost a tremendous person!!!!!!! But we gained 😊
❤❤❤
Thank you for that kind statement! I think I was a pretty good nurse, sometimes too good to the point of burn out, it’s a tough and thankless field to work in!
Okay i got question....
What did you use for a reference for the duck?
I think I just had a print out of a pekin duck pinned to my reference board? A pic of the side profile and then a close up of the face. I like using realistic drawings for references, easier to see details!
@TayMarie23 ill be honest, ive got a commission to make a cardinal. And i kinda plan on using your videos for a template... any tips? P.s. it will be a tad- LARGER than the ones from your videos that ive seen
Puffy cheeks always help with the cardinals! Like I said, I like to use realistic line art or drawings for my reference. Once you pick a position try to have your references be in that position, and try to get different angles, again with all the birds in a similar position!
@TayMarie23 thats awesome! 💯 thank u! 😊
Ryan Cook Who?
Hahah 😂 That man is so talented!!!
@@TayMarie23 Great work.Great content
