That was excellent work very impressive. I am 73 years old. I think I’m gonna try to make one know that it will not come out nearly as good as yours always wanted to carve. Love you so much from Vermont.
What can you say, thats the best carved eagle i ever saw being carved into a log. U do it with so much love to Detail and the coloring its just incredible. And the fact that u are a Beginner makes this even more awesome. Hands down and keep up your great work. Nice greetings from a german carver.
I appreciate all of this, thank you 🙌🏼 The details are what I look forward too with every carving! I find blocking to be the most physically and mentally challenging. I appreciate you watching 😊
Love it! Love it! Love it! What a beautiful eagle 🦅 TayMarie! The details are fabulous in every way. Those claws, the beak, feathering nothing but perfect to say the least. Another AMAZING carving as usual! Woohoo! 🤗
Still love my little electric saw but having the gas power has been game changing! Much faster too! This was my first project ever using/holding a gas saw 😂 just kinda went with it!
I absolutely love it. I am just starting to carve and you are the reason that I have. Your progression in just a year has inspired me. Can't wait to watch your videos. You are a true artist. Don't ever stop making the videos please.
Aa long as you all continue to watch and enjoy them I’ll keep making them :) welcome to the world of carving, I hope it makes you as happy as it makes me!
SaaWeeet! Great job TM! JUST awesome. You are so good! Love the eyes, which are mesmerizing! The talon separation is so cool too. Great job girl! Looking forward to your next video. Just one disappointment. I didn’t get a glimpse of Nami in the background! 😅😅. Hi to Nami! Stay safe pupper..you too TM! Click that Thumbs up everyone! 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you! Cheers! If you look close she is zooming around in the back of the first timelapse 😉 She’s out with me 90% of the time but sometimes she’s just too cute to make the big screen 😂
Good morning-Beautiful like the rest! I am the person that messaged you about the German shepherd-the rattle cans and paint are just enamel? Can’t wait to try to bring back my Moms dog! Thank you again for all your help! Have a good day
Yes the white and rattle cans were oil based enamels. Since we don’t know 100% what was used on your moms dog, sticking with oil based finishes is probably best unless you get ALL the finish removed, then water based would be fine. Oil can be applied over water based, but water based can’t not be applied over oil if that make sense? You can use stains as well! You can even use interior stains with an exterior clear coat over top! Possibilities are endless!
This eagle 🦅 is great... But I think also that your first one reminds me of the old Walt Disney cartoon eagles 🦅... And even the animatronic characters on the old "America Sings" ride... Which may be ahead of your time... But look it up and you'll see what I mean... But again beautiful work Ty...best
@@TayMarie23 :) Ich finde, du machst einen großartigen Job. Dass es nicht leicht ist kann ich mir vorstellen, geht teilweise sicher arg auf Arme und Rücken. :)
@@TayMarie23 May I recommend the Stihl MS250 instead of the 501p? I think it helps to stay with the same brand saws. You become very knowledgeable on maintenance and many parts are interchangeable. For example, a MS170 bar fits on a ms250 powerhead and it screams. When you start mixing saw brands you end up with a hodgepodge of parts. The one exception is the new Echo 2511p that is the smallest carving saw available. Much lighter than an MS170. A treat to use with a 12" carving bar. Just my 2 cents.
Great eagle! He looks fierce. I’m curious how you got the color variation, the distressed look, on the feet so they didn’t come out bright yellow. Thanks for the video.
Yayy welcome to the carving crew! I honestly have no idea where I’m at…maybe number 35 or 40? I’m sure if I thought hard I could get the exact number haha!
Good looking eagle, the feet are a little thick and long but it could be a camera angle. A little more defined in the back would be nice but you have a very close to real bird. How can you paint during winter when 50 degree weather is best? Good amount of time out in the cold with power tools gives some admiration for the job
His feet are definitely on the large size, it’s not the camera angle hahaha! I have only done a few birds so it’s just part of the learning curve! I have only been carving for 7 months :) I use all oil based paints since I put them over timber oil, so they can be applied at colder temperatures! My rustoleum enamel can be applied at any temp between 32F-90F! As for the spray paint…it was 49F that day so I painted first thing that morning!!! 😂 it’s a pain waiting for warm days during winter but I usually have several projects lined up, and when we get a warm day everyone get painted!
❤ excellent job I was looking for someone to teach me or show me how to do it. I have a tree out of the front of my house which I’d like to carve , but leave 5 feet high and carve a Knigge or something of that effect got about a 15 inch radius greetings from Philadelphia
@@TayMarie23 Yeah I see that it's all fun for you. Not like other UA-camrs who push for the subs. The eagle looks totally real with the snow coming down lol. 👍
I thought the same thing! My kids watch UA-cam, and it recommends all this weird stupid crap. I wish it directed them to more talented and creative people like this! It is weird how that works, and some of these weird channels have like 3 million subscribers. It just doesn't make sense 🤔
Turned out great but in particular nice work on the stump. A lot of carvers put all the work into the eagle/ bear etc and just leave a boring stump. It makes a big difference. What state are you in?
This was the first time I used it but I got pretty comfortable with it during this project! Since I have only used electric, having play with the throttle is totally new to me! I think I still like my electric for detailing but the gas made blocking soooo much more enjoyable! More power too!

Always loved seeing the carvers at the fairs growing up! But honestly, I was a ventilator nurse though Covid and I was just so burnt out by the end of it all and was looking for a drastic change…boyfriend bought me a chainsaw for my birthday last year…now I do this for a living 😂 Wish I had some epic story for you but that’s really just it!! By Golly, the improvement from your original eagle is amazing. Much more realism, and believable. Excellent job, good going Tay!!!

You did a beautiful job on this one! It looks so real! You did a great job on painting him as well. What type of wood did you carve him out of ?
Thank you, I appreciate that 😊 We don’t have many good carving wood options up here, so almost all my carvings are made of Eastern White Pine🌲

Definitely practice first but I have faith you will be able to carve something wonderful on your stump!
This channel should have more subs. Strange.

Tu réussis toujours bien les têtes de tes animaux, mais les pattes de ton aigle sont trop massives comme celles d'un tyrannosaure pourquoi ?
Hahaha he’s got some clown feet! Cut me some slack, I’m still new to the game! 😂
Did the carving bar fit on the oregon cs1500 or did you have to change the sprocket
The stock sprocket was 3/8p so I had to change it over to 1/4 pitch! Bought the 1/4 sprocket for Mikita’s battery saw and it fit perfectly!
Nice
Thank you 😊
