    Bonus secret......3 or 4 drops of lemon juice concentrate (from the container that you buy in the store that looks like a lemon) into fat free, plain greek yogurt and you will get a surprisingly good tasting fat free, sugar free, salt free, low calorie, high protein sour cream!!
    Now you can eat as much as you want and not feel guilty anymore. Your welcome.

      How many drops per cup of yogurt?

    • @MrYoubrian
      @MrYoubrian 4 роки тому +3

      @@lisab6373 It depends on your taste but I would start with 8 or 9 per cup and just taste along the way. The you can also have the base for adding other ingredients that you might like. 4 drops per half cup does it for me, and i would rate it 7.5 out of 10 to the real stuff but I can eat all I want because it is healthy.

    I actually had this idea today and I was looking at dehydrated egg yolks to give it that mayo flavor, it never occurred to me to think about using boiled egg yolks. You’re a genius!

    I love Hellman's Mayo. I was skeptical but tried your recipe because i am trying to slowly incorporate a healthy diet.. Surprisingly, this yogurt mayo tasted great. I find it tastes even better after a few days in the refrigerator.
    I used Cabot Creamy Greek Yogurt, plain. I did not use a low fat. It shows it has 310 calories per cup, not 200 like you used. What Greek Yogurt did you use?
    How long can this Greek Yogurt Mayo last in the fridge?
    Also, your recipe above calls for 1 egg yolk hard boiled but then you have 2 in parenthesis. Which one is it, 1 or 2 egg yolks?

    Just tried this n sorry that’s a no from me. Was really sour. Why add vinegar n lemon juice to something already sour? The sugar did not counter act this.

    • @thinkcat01
      @thinkcat01 Рік тому

      Grace Plata Just use only lemon juice without the vinegar. Maybe you can add honey to it. Normal mayonnaise is very high in fat. Making it with yoghurt is much better.

      The only fat is from the egg yolk -- one egg yolk is 4.5g of fat. Two tablespoons of this recipe would be just over 0.5g of fat (0.2g saturated fat).

    Sorry. I like yogurt but this isn't even close to the taste or consistence of mayonnaise. I did use it on a chicken sandwich and since i do like yogurt it did a good job of making the chicken moist. I did use fat-free yogurt because I'm interested in making my food lower calorie. I appreciate your going through the bother of sharing this with all of us. It just didn't work for me.

  • @leighbartolomeo893
    @leighbartolomeo893 9 місяців тому

    Respectfully speaking, all this is, is yogurt with mayonnaise ingredients in it. Dukes mayo is 800 calories per cup, and I don’t know anyone that sits and eats a cup of mayo on its own. Now, with that being said, this seems like a great sauce starter for perhaps a Greek salad dressing, but mayonnaise it is not. 😊😊😊

    • @patricksimoneau7647
      @patricksimoneau7647 8 місяців тому +6

      You are very mistaken. There is 16tbs in a cup. One tbs of dukes mayo has 100 calories. 12gs of fat and 0 protein. Meaning 1600 calories per cup, and 192 grams of fat. …according to their nutrition label, which doesn’t make sense because 1 gram of fat=9 kcal. 9x12 is 108kcal not 100 but I digress
      This on the other hand, depending on the Greek yogurt, can have around 200 calories, 25 grams of protein and about 4.5 grams of fat. Per cup.
      One is most definitely not like the other in regards to health. No nobody eats a cup of mayo by itself but.. chicken/tuna salad, Devilled eggs, macaroni/potato salad etc all use a lot of mayo. So if you’re actually health conscious and want something similar to mayo, without the calories. Yes this is the way to go.
