Just great 🙂
Dare I say it, "Cracking Lobster" 😃
Ahh! I have so many questions and comments! First, this was absolutely brilliant. You’re like the English Mr Rodgers by the sea - your voice is so calming and you make even seaweed interesting - that’s magical!
Questions: are the sucker fish bloodsuckers? They reminded me a lot of leeches. I bet they’ve scared more than one tourist! The thong weed was fascinating- are there uses for that? Maybe dried out?
And lastly - did you just eat lobster caviar!? 🥂😊
Can I buy your merch?
Terry M I have no idea what you are talking about lol
I love seeing you spend time with your son. You’re making memories for him that will last a life time
- I have honestly been waiting since before our son was born to do these things with him. 😊
@@TheFishLocker some of my most cherished memories with my dad were when he took me fishing on a yacht and going lake fishing with him. I'm 52 next month and those memories are still fresh in my head.
@@Zooumberg im 42 and im still waiting for my uncle frank to die so i can tell people about my memories hes been making me keep a secret all this time

Can't beat making memories with the boy mate, cherish them cuddles, they don't last long! My youngest is 16 tomorrow!
- Haha. Cuddles turn into headlocks. 🤣
@@TheFishLocker 🤣🤣🤣
I’m just saying this would be a perfect first date!!!! I love how he eats everything he catches and leaves the little ones to grow!!!
I don't know many women who would agree to go raking about in rock pools for their dinner on a first date. 🤣
@@TheFishLocker dream date fyi there are plenty who would enjoy
My wife looks over my shoulder and all she noticed was the giant bucket of chocolate. I think she is on Amazon now. Great video as always.
- Haha. It was a gift from my father in law. He runs a galley. 👍🏻😊
@@TheFishLocker That's what she misses most of all From the UK. All the best.

😂 James was more interested in smashing the shells than eating.
- Yes he was. Smashing things or playing with the fire. Haha. 🦞🔥
I reckon you would make a fantastic marine biologist mate, haha. Love the sheer amount of knowledge you have about sea creatures. Well done with that lobster, too bad you didn't catch the other one, would have made a nice dinner for the family. Another great video and two thumbs up from me!
- I did want to be a marine biologist when I was a boy. Which is where my passion for nature began. Caught one / missed one. Not bad odds. 😊🦞🤷🏻♂️
Mr. and Mrs. and Jr. Fishlocker, you are the best respite from stress and I'm always learning from each of you. For this and you all, I am grateful 🙏
We are so glad that you are enjoying our content Wendy 🎣👍🏻
Your lovely son James is a star, what lovely father and son time, happy memories.
James is an absolute treasure isn’t he. 💙
Watching you and James takes me back to the days when I took my son fishing and shooting in North Yorkshire - we fished in and around Whitby many times. He just turned 35 two days ago but those days seem like yesterday when I see your videos! Cherish the times with him John - he'll grow up so fast!
Your son is the same age as me. 😉
How`s Ronnie?
I literally just picked up my Fishlocker swag from the post and a new video drops. 💪
- Now that’s perfect timing!! 😊👍🏻🦞
That lobster was a BEAUTIFUL find!! Good job!!! I’ve never seen such a vibrant blue lobster before!
We have some stunners don’t we. 😊🦞
James is just adorable. He certainly loves hangin with dad. Next time you need two rocket stoves. One to cook on and one for James to sit on. Enjoyed the video greatly. Stay safe and God bless.
- Haha. Next time I think janes is just going to have his own fire!! 🤣🔥
You're very educated on the sea life... Thanks for sharing your knowledge, skills, and adventure with us!
- It is my pleasure Rachel. I hope that our videos may encourage others to take an interest in the natural world around them. 😊
James will always be remembered for his interest in smashing lobster!
- Its when he starts tuning green and smashing stuff that I'll be worried.
Learning so much , buying a camper told the wife we can explore so many places ..... didn't tell her they would be all fishing Mark's 😁👍

Stumbling across this is probably the best part of my day.

i love catch and cook videos, but the fact that you bring your son is absolutely amazing. as someone who never really had a father figure growing up, you have all of my utmost respect for making these videos and including your son! I love your channel sir, thank you for being a great example for others to follow! :)
- I learned a long time ago, that the parent you had - is not nearly as important as the parent you are. I may not get it right all the time, but I am simply doing my best. Take care and have a wonderful day 😊
That 2nd lobster in the hole looked a bruiser, gutted you never grabbed him out, love watching cook ups on the beach. Great for mental health 👏

A+ content as usual, John. Looking forward to some sweeping coastal drone footage in the future!
- “Spawncamp” I’m not familiar with that? Haha.

I am genuinely surprised by the size of lobsters you can collect down there on the beach....is that testimony to the success of Fisheries management? Loved that Cornish Sucker...what a star ❤️👍😁
- It truly is testament to the fisheries management of the area. We have a larger minimum landing size than most areas ( ours being 90mm and most others being 87mm ) and conscientious fishermen. 😊👍🏻🦞🦀
@@TheFishLocker That must be a great comfort to the fishing industry in & around Cornish waters & for future generations. Perhaps young James will one day be a part of the Conservation Team 🌝

This is, as always, just like a natural science class in college (in my younger days ;) mixed with a bit of marine biology (and some Pinchy Jr. having a go at your hand!) Then , the finale', Professor Locker instructing Locker Jr. in the art of the Knocking Rock... awesome! Wonderful as usual, keep it up, loving it!

We only got part way through this at the weekend, then something cropped up and we had to stop. We LOVE seeing you doing what you so clearly enjoy. Your enthusiasm is infectious. Too bad that Bloke got away from you. He looked pretty massive, but a lobster in hand is worth two in the cave...or was that birds and bushes? Ah, you get it. Lol.
I'd never seen anything like those Cornish Suckers before. They definitely are very interesting.
And lastly, looking forward to future videos with your new drone. Did you get the idea from Haze, or were you planning on getting one for a while?

Also, imagine how rich a compost all that seaweed could make for a garden. Do you often see people gathering any up for that purpose?
- No not really. People are too lazy.
Well, sad day for them. If I were close enough, I'd be grabbing a few bin loads to throw in a compost tumbler. Lol
I pay good money for my garden fertilizer made entirely of seaweeds.

What a coincidence, we are planning to visit Vancouver later this year. Is there any shoreline in particular you recommend for exploring?
@@TheFishLocker Campbell River touts the most sealife, but there is a place near nanaimo, where the rock formation is almost like something not seen on this earth. Different colors, masses blended together. I'll have to research it and get back to you. As for Vancouver itself, I'm not sure. I'm central island. Pretty large island mass here. @@TheFishLocker The story goes like this, I took my son Lee fishing one morning, it was his first time, he only had a light whippy rod, a weight and 2 hooks, well he caught the only fish of the session, but more important for him, he caught a weever fish and a crab, he was so made up, he was only 6, he's now 28, and he'll never let me forget it, ever but it does bring a smile to my face thinking about it, so the moral of the story is, once you give him his rod be prepared to be shown up 😁😁
