    Good job man, this is how you do it if you don’t have a 12in blade! Thanks for the video

      You prefer at 12” blade?

      No I don’t, but I see a lot of guys using them. I have an ol rapala fillet knife I use but it’s only about 7 inches or so.

    The best eating salmon in my opinion. They're called Kings for a reason.

      I agree, a fatty fish (in a good way). I’ve got a few more packs still in the freezer!

    FYI, United now requires a hard sided cooler that has a considerable amount of tape wrapped around it to be considered as a checked bag. I had to leave several fish because of this rule.

    One thing I am TERRIBLE at is filleting fish. I'm hitting the LIKE button to come back to this later.
    I LOVE catching Cohos and Atlantics...but I hate the cleaning part. I'm going to get a mat like this so that the fish doesn't slip and some gloves.
    Great video of that guide, bud. Thanks.

    They should hire you at the fishplant on Fogo Island where you have to filet 1500 lbs a day. And your yield is measured

    • @G2GO_outdoors

      I’m not sure of the brand but it has bristles just like a doormat. They seem to be very popular around this area as most of the guides use them.

    what is the ideal size knife for this? looks like a 7" blade?

    • @G2GO_outdoors
      @G2GO_outdoors  3 місяці тому +1

      7” dexter for salmon and 9” dexter for the halibut seems to be what most of the guides were using.

    1 not a 20 lb fish. 2 sloppy and slow. 3 didn't even take off all the silverskin on the ribs. 4 if you're a professional fileting a whole salmon should take 1 minute
