Amazing design and engineering. Although it might take a master about 30 minutes to do this , it's definitely interesting to see what machine can do compared to mankind. We're moving into a manmade world
*Fascinating!* How these machines can do all this. I feel 😕 bad for those who lost their jobs because of these kind of machines, and artificial intelligence. They are taking over people's jobs.
You have to look at both sides. Those machine may take away jobs but it also created jobs. I work for the company that makes those conveyor belts and I tell you. We hired more people the the last 7 years I been here than the the company did the last 50 years the company have been around. We never stop hiring and pay is very high compared to the average company. Look up Intralox the building of these belts cannot be replace with another robot. The parts and complications of putting it together can only be done by actual people.
GET THOSE CYRONS OUT OF THE WAY!!! 8:58 "The robot determines the exact position & orientation of each portion" cyron completely covering the referenced action.
I worked at a processor for years and this looks so much better then ours. I used to just rip the heads of the salmon because our knives were too dull and I'd run the salmon from the hopper to the table because I hated how the belt bruised them on drop Edit: I want to point out in no way it was bad. It's just our equipment was old and rough and we focused on the people aspect
@@bigbill327 agree, and all the lost nutrition from the head, bones and belly fat. Also liver and heart. Another irony of removing belly fat is how people then pay for pills of fish oil.
A fascinating video but with one complaint: Videos that are showing industrial processes are diminished by the lack of an audio voice-over. While attempting to read the 'subtitles' it takes away from the visual of what is being presented resulting in a less than optimal experience.
It’s a promotional video taken from a company called “Marel”. It features their products, technology and solutions. It’s from many different production lines at many different companies.
Thats not fish genocide because there is zero intention to eradicate fish. If anything, companies (and humans in general) always want a larger and larger number of fish in this world, so : D Massacre is probably a more suitable word :P
@Elias Firmino Silverio de Sousa nope that's not contrary. The reason companies re depleting fish numbers is due to unbridled profit motive. Not a desire for the eradication of fish. Genocide is very specific in that sense. There is a reason we have a seperate word for the intentional eradication of a group which starts with their demonization. You could say mao tried to genocide sparrows under his 4 pest eradication drive since the intention was to actually get rid of them. It's not the same as the public thinking that a rich company has long term vision rather than being driven solely by their bottom line.
@Elias Firmino Silverio de Sousa yeah I have family members murdered by the state and jailed friends for being too commie, and i dont need some dipshit on the internet telling me that I'm defending unbridled capitalism under a salmon factory video. By your definition the declining numbers of wealthy huwites is the same phenomena as the declining numbers of a forest dwelling tribe in a mineral rich region. Sounds like the average online nazbol vegan crying about hwite ge*oci¿e. What else, stop the genocide of the holy cow in india ?
great video! i really appreciate the insight into the process. but honestly, i wonder if the industrial methods here compromise the quality of the salmon compared to the wild-caught ones. what do you all think?
This video reminds me of the first time my mom bought tilapia fillet and it was mentioned on the packaging "made in china" I was like "fish is man made?!" Then found out some of them are genetically engineered.
Many fish and shrimp are caught and processed in another country and sold to the US. China seems to be main one with cod and shrimp. They have big fishing ships in the oceans catching as many that they can many times violating international laws and waters for their growing population and trade.
There are several detrimental and unhealthy industrial fish products. Farmed Atlantic salmon, pangasius, tilapia, farmed shrimp, and farmed catfish. Don't Eat it! 🤢
Farmed salmon is only really necessary for sushi, parasites from wild fish if you try to eat it raw without freezing will get you. Google ike-Jime this is how you should slaughter any fish esp any fish for sushi. Sushi with farmed salmon properly slaughtered is absolutely amazing no idea what you are talking about. I would rather eat that than a fish that has been consuming god knows what in the ocean. Every single other animal we eat in human life we control what they eat it makes a lot of sense. People who are against salmon farms etc are kind of stuck in the past and prob barely eat fish let alone eat it raw which is healthier and way better and safer if farmed
@@joecobb7153for your own education, please watch the film made by patagonia films about farmed icelandic salmon, it gives you an idea of what the salmon industry is all about in Norway and Iceland.
Not to worry, I can see this is filmed in Norway, we have a very low unemployment rate. The population is also highly educated, so we need more "high-skilled" work places than "low-skilled". Those factories in Norway that uses a lot of human labour, usually end up with a huge amount of foreign workers.
Thanks god we human is the dominant species on earth. Can’t imagine if fish is the dominant species and have the same factory to mass produce human fillet
Human always behave like it is owner of earth, but it is not true, human also belong to animal kingdom like other animals, every species have equal right on nature, but one human is a species who disbalance ecosystem.

I don't know why, I needed to watch this at 4 in the morning. lol
Amazing design and engineering. Although it might take a master about 30 minutes to do this , it's definitely interesting to see what machine can do compared to mankind. We're moving into a manmade world
Maybe 3 minutes not 30!
*Fascinating!* How these machines can do all this. I feel 😕 bad for those who lost their jobs because of these kind of machines, and artificial intelligence. They are taking over people's jobs.
I feel bad for all those fish not for those who lost their jobs :(
Every body is talking about jobs matter . And we don't want the animal lives . What a cruelty lord.

The amount of engineering is very impressive!
Someone said this below but the amount of work that goes into making and setting up the machines you see here is insane
I worked at a processor for years and this looks so much better then ours. I used to just rip the heads of the salmon because our knives were too dull and I'd run the salmon from the hopper to the table because I hated how the belt bruised them on drop
Edit: I want to point out in no way it was bad. It's just our equipment was old and rough and we focused on the people aspect
This is both fascinating and a bit terrifying all at the same time
0:18 Amazing. That was all I needed. Thanks!
This gives me more appreciation when I shop for salmon. The incredible machinery involved is really amazing.
Why do you appreciate it more when the food you eat is prepped by machine than by people?
@@bigbill327 agree, and all the lost nutrition from the head, bones and belly fat. Also liver and heart. Another irony of removing belly fat is how people then pay for pills of fish oil.

What is this? Why is it so clean and relaxing? Idk.. Something's fishy going on.

A fascinating video but with one complaint: Videos that are showing industrial processes are diminished by the lack of an audio voice-over. While attempting to read the 'subtitles' it takes away from the visual of what is being presented resulting in a less than optimal experience.
3:30 they remove the tail, but then later at 3:50 the tails are still attached to the fish? Are these two different production lines?
Well, fish and miracles always went well togehter :-P
It’s a promotional video taken from a company called “Marel”. It features their products, technology and solutions. It’s from many different production lines at many different companies.

It's literally fish genocide yet it claps.
Now I'm hungry and vibing
Was thinking the same thing. Now someone needs a re-edit with Five Finger Death Punch tracks!
After they're done getting their head cut off they're GENTLY put on the other conveyor to get there tail CUT OFF 😂

Tilapia are a farmed fish only...not caught in the wild. Also...not great for you when it comes to its nutritional value.
There are several detrimental and unhealthy industrial fish products. Farmed Atlantic salmon, pangasius, tilapia, farmed shrimp, and farmed catfish. Don't Eat it!
🤢
Watched first 18 seconds and saw how they do it. Thanks.
5 minutes of conveyors that leads to a guy that loads the fish into a machine.
Somehow I feel like we will one day end up in a factory like that. Some alien casually skinning our bodies with mechanical precision.
Imagine a bear walking into this place, he would be like the fish gods have spoken. 😂
Mmm, farmed salmon, so healthy! No heavy metals in that fish. And all the plastic packaging … can’t wait to see it in the landfill!

Not to worry, I can see this is filmed in Norway, we have a very low unemployment rate. The population is also highly educated, so we need more "high-skilled" work places than "low-skilled". Those factories in Norway that uses a lot of human labour, usually end up with a huge amount of foreign workers.
That must be one massive cleanup job at the end of the day.
