Had a 2020 Platinum then switched for a 2022 ST. And last friday i took delivery of the 2025 ST, black just like you reviewed. The driving experience is different. Suspension allows more comfort, new transmission is way smoother. A lot less engine noise in sport mode as well.
Nice looks nice but since I live in EU it’s not available here (still) so I’m considering bringing one from USA or CANADA with Canada winning at the moment as you can order the ST with a 2nd row bench while in US no such option exists (weird). How is the ride so far can you write some of your experience when you have time? How is in stiffer roads and mild off road (no trail rock climbing of course). Would appreciate any answer. Thank you
Does the ST do any of that crap where it shuts the engine off at a stop light or shuts down cylinders when highway cruising? If it does, can you turn that function off?
I’ve heard before that this gen of Explorer (or at least the ST model anyway) plays engine sound over the speakers. But how does that work? Are there separate speakers just for engine sound? If not, if you’re listening to music, how well does the engine sound sound with the music? Does it degrade the music sound quality any? Does it just make vroom sounds as you hit the gas? Is there a mic under the hood somewhere that captures the actual engine/exhaust sound and then amplifies it through the speakers? If you modify the exhaust, is the new sound what you hear through the speakers or is it the same stock sound mixed with the actual exhaust sound from the actual exhaust pipes?
The infotainment system is a massive upgrade from previous models! Wireless Apple car play or android auto, won’t have music streaming issues like you will on previous models due to the fact that went away from shit SYNC. Bigger screen! Much better display quality and responsiveness.
The new front end isn't that good, which I am also seeing more and more. Imagine spending that much money and only getting reflector headlamps? Did Ford give these vehicles static cornering lamps like most other products in their lineup? The rear end could use some work... those rectangular blocks in the lamps look out of place and it is unfortunate that they removed amber rear signals and integrated them with the brakes. Such a cheap cost-cutting design feature
Had a 2020 Platinum and a 2022 ST. Was saying the same thing, where are my all black rims lol But I went to check the new one for my gf yesterday and they are really gun metal. They look way more dark than the videos make them look like.
I got over it quickly had a black 22 just turned in for black '25. Best decision ever. The wheels even grew on me. However, nothing beats those factory black 21s overall for sure!
I like the previous model rims a little better as well. The thing that sucks is if you want to change them they’re so damn expensive whether you buy OEM or aftermarket that it makes you wonder if it’s really worth $4,000 or so just for looks, on top of an already expensive vehicle. They ought to have a couple wheel options instead of just one.

Good to know. We are selling the 23" ST and getting a 25" in a few weeks!!

Im really liking the 2025. Have you had any reliability issues in the past?

I got the blue vapor and it’s amazing!
Go do the ST Experience and you will know exactly how it handles :)
Would have been nice to keep the graphics of the driving modes of the previous year.

Reliability 1 year for sure
I’m not sure if I actually like the new frontend, I especially hate the rims on the ST, last gen looked way better.
