Thanks for posting this. I went to Sandbanks as a kid, we stayed in one of the old '20s houses. It had a landing inside that went round in a circle from each side of the stairs.Lots of nooks and crannies. I've always remembered it. It's probably not there any more. I think it's a shame that the place has been developed the way it has, the place has lost some of its character. Good to know the trees have a preservation order. It's very uplifting to see them.
I love the old 20s places and agree, it's a shame it's got the reputation and development that it has because it's a wonderful beach and unique location. We were there yesterday and my son commented how nice it would be to have some places to eat, drink and enjoy the view along the beach rather than all those spots being taken over by big private houses. Love sandbanks, stayed in the Sandbanks hotel , only for a night but was lovely, also stayed in a house on the beach, sand dunes in the garden, amazing !!
Fantastic! It was staying at the Sandbanks Hotel about 15 years ago that made me fall in love with the place. IMHO, it has changed a lot since then, but I truly can't get enough of the beach. We also love having breakfast at the cafe next to the chain ferry. All the best, Angela

If you catch the open top bus from swanage you get a nice drive through the countryside, a ride on the ferry and then get to drive through sandbanks on your way to Bournemouth
I love that bus ride, although rather mistimed it and sat on top on a freezing cold day! I might film it if I can when the weather warms up. All the best, Angela

the Seaton family owned the Sandbanks Yacht Co, the garage on the entrance my dad almost bought in 1963 for 25000 pounds but my mum objected. There used to be opposite an old lady with race Horses that ran along the beach. the two new houses opposite the Yacht Company owned by Midlands Estate Agent Mr Hipkiss. Lots of memories with our boat there.

Every time I go down sandbanks they are knocking one down to build another one bigger and better .i don’t know if you know this but they have blue roof to keep to pigeons and seagulls off um ..I guy told me that when I worked on Bournemouth hospital when they was building it 20 yr ago .Nice walk cheers 🙂✌️

Honestly, I don't know if you can tell but I absolutely love going there. Forget the big houses, the beach and the little ferry to another amazing beach, it's all fantastic, I feel truly grateful whenever I walk along the beach at Sandbanks. Yes, when will the world come back to normal? How is it where you are? Are you concerned about tourists bringing Covid? I think I'll do my first train journey to London in 4 months next week, complete with face mask of course😎

This is a question I wrestle with a lot. I am thinking of making a new channel dedicated to beach and countryside walks. Thank you so much for adding this information, much appreciated:) I remember on its breakdown in, I think 2019, when they were waiting for the part from Norway or somewhere similar, it was docked up on the Studland side for quite a while, all lit up in th evenings and it was quite surreal that it wasn't in operation. Yes, I use the DJI Osmo Pocket for all my filming these days. I used to use an old mobile phone on a DJI gimbal plus the Canon G7X for talking to camera, but I find the Osmo Pocket a good all rounder. Angela
I haven't been in months (to Sandbanks!), but I would imagine they are as this was quite an omission IMHO when they weren't open during first lockdown.
The best houses by far are in Lilliput, Canford Cliffs and Branksome and Evening Hill. It’s like Grand Designs on steroids, all just a short walk away.
I love Evening Hill and yes, it's definitely on the list. Which do you think are the best spots in Lilliput? I try to have a nose when we pick up Thai or Fish & Chips, especially those places backing onto the harbour. All the best, Angela
@@ChattyWalkswithAngela I would say Allington road, Bingham avenue, Minterne road, Brudenell road. The whole area is stuffed full of premiere roads, the best ones are Western ave, Bury road, Martello Road and everything between The Avenue and Canford Cliffs road. We moved here from NW London 3 years ago and spent weeks walking around the stunning pine tree lined roads admiring the incredible houses. I don’t think it’s easy to capture this place on video though, you can never do it justice. Also I would avoid filming on ‘bins out’ day.

And yes, it's not easy to capture the places that well on video, it should translate, but it just doesn't somehow:/ There's something lovely about driving along The Avenue that just says 'you're here'! I learnt to swim in sea at sandbanks my grandad tought me in 1970's❤❤
