Because I bet it'll be a speech making fun of this one lmao.
Just like Defoe getting snubbed for best supporting actor..I’m glad the oscars this year have the deserving film this year the wins (parasite); but there were some glaring snubs. The lighthouse should have gotten more technical noms as well.
Adam Sandler is such a beloved person. Just a positive spirit, authentic, and can put a smile on anyone’s face. Blessings to him and everyone in his life.
As several prominent Oscar voters have said, they see the award as a career achievement award for actors who have been putting out great work for years, sometimes decades. There may be some voters who give awards in total isolation from the rest of an actor's career, but they do not represent a majority opinion. You don't give the world's most prestigious acting award to someone whose resume looks like Sandler's.
blupunk01 that just begs the question, why are the Oscar voters imposing their own viewpoint of what it should mean, when this so clearly does not align with what normal viewers thinks it means? i get that they’ve done it this way before, but it becomes so arbitrary that in my opinion all meaning is lost. it becomes a popularity contest where the movie doesn’t even matter, but rather a selective memory of an actor’s “total career”. That totally just makes the results mean even less than they did, and without a doubt varies in the criteria from person to person. it just seems problematic to me when everyone thinks the Oscars names the best actor of the year, when in reality an alterior agenda is pushed where voters fancy themselves a gatekeeper to the acting hall of fame. focus should be taken away from the stubborn “voters” and brought back to the performance itself.
@@addam.mp3 I think because part of their job is protecting the integrity of the award. When people who don't advance the art and the industry win it cheapens the award for everyone else in a way not true of any of the dozens of less prestigious awards out there. Academy Award Winner will be attached to that persons name for the rest of their life and well beyond. I think it's valuable not to think of of the Academy Awards like a race where you win if you cross the finish line first regardless of where you may have placed in every other race. An Oscar is more like and interview for a much better job in a company (and indeed and Academy Award can open doors that would otherwise never have been for actor) where you can't just point to the most recent thing you've done, even if you did a great job at it, and expect the big promotion if the ten things you did before that were all garbage. I know "gatekeeping" has a negative connotation these days, but making certain the people who get past the "gate" into the rarefied air of the of the Oscars is precisely a part of the Academy voters' jobs. There are obviously instances when they fail, and those basically become jokes for decades when performers or films that should have never taken home the statue do.
@@cindym9963 If we are counting all awards my favorite acceptance speech is still Jerry Seinfeld's acceptence speech for winnning the comedy award and then proceeds to ridicule all awards in general and say what a joke they all are.

My dad passed away in 2016, he was a massive Adam Sandler fan. Honestly watching this makes me wish there was some portal to wherever tf we go when we die, so I could just show him this stupid 5 minute clip.
If the unfortunate gets to one of us before we see him get his Oscar, hopefully they have those portals by then. And someone will flip us the damn speech. Because I bet it'll be a speech making fun of this one lmao.
I hope you outlive Keith Richards
He wont because of his political beliefs
@@jessenielsen6188 What are?
Why? He just gracefully explained how pointless they are.
Truly he’s earned his place as one of the greatest actors of all time. Screw anyone who says otherwise.
He was totally bullying by The Academy, but this Award has giving him justice
He deserved it, he deserved an Oscar Nomination tbh
Just like Defoe getting snubbed for best supporting actor..I’m glad the oscars this year have the deserving film this year the wins (parasite); but there were some glaring snubs. The lighthouse should have gotten more technical noms as well.
He really adopted that uncut gems style, and i dig it. Congrats Adam u deserve it men
Click, Reign over me, , punch drunk love and Spanglish, he's great dramatic actor
Don't forget Meyerowitz Stories.
CLICK? WTF!
Mauricio Contrera
Click had some good dramatic moments
@@cruman87 legit. Click had some beautiful moments

Adam Sandler is such a beloved person. Just a positive spirit, authentic, and can put a smile on anyone’s face. Blessings to him and everyone in his life.
he's awesome omg
Adam Sandler is an uncut gem - what a legend!
Adam Sandler to Oscars :
THIS IS HOW I WIN
Adham Yasser this meme has never fit better
This film is a modern day masterpiece. Can’t believe the academy didn’t recognize it at the Oscars.
Look is fleeting... personality is FOREVER
Adam Sandler really deserved an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. That was one helluva performance he gave in Uncut Gems.
A24 doesn’t have the money
As several prominent Oscar voters have said, they see the award as a career achievement award for actors who have been putting out great work for years, sometimes decades. There may be some voters who give awards in total isolation from the rest of an actor's career, but they do not represent a majority opinion. You don't give the world's most prestigious acting award to someone whose resume looks like Sandler's.
Mark Guevarra you’re delusional.
blupunk01 that just begs the question, why are the Oscar voters imposing their own viewpoint of what it should mean, when this so clearly does not align with what normal viewers thinks it means? i get that they’ve done it this way before, but it becomes so arbitrary that in my opinion all meaning is lost. it becomes a popularity contest where the movie doesn’t even matter, but rather a selective memory of an actor’s “total career”.
Very well deserved this man works so hard man. Happy for him, definitely my favourite actor.
Mickey Rourke's acceptance speech for The Wrestler was the best but man, this beats it
I was just gonna comment, i dont have a favorite acceptance speech, until now 😄
also, mickey rourke has gone absolutely nutso now so we needed a new best speech.
BoppoB you mean went crazy for the second time? Lmao
Hadn’t seen your comment when I mentioned it just now. Both for the ages.
@@cindym9963 If we are counting all awards my favorite acceptance speech is still Jerry Seinfeld's acceptence speech for winnning the comedy award and then proceeds to ridicule all awards in general and say what a joke they all are.
I love yah Adam ,you deserve that and more....
Yours always, huge faithful true fan......
I smiled during that speech the whole time!!!
Maybe this is how Hollywood should look, sound, and act when celebrating its artists. Just amazing.
When I saw the trailer drop, I was so hyped. Adam Sandler, when he acts acts, is wondrous. "Punch Drunk Love" nailed it for me. Since then, I've been waiting for Adam Sandler, the actor, to emerge again. He's done it a few times and I fucking love it. His comedy side is damn fun, too.
You should check out the meyerowitz stories, he does a pretty great performance
I think he always acts acts. He just accepted an award by acting as Adam Sandler.
Kure M. That was Bobby bouché

He's a great versatile actor and I love all his movies, congratulations on a well deserved award #AdamSandler
Finally some real awards
"This is Adam Sandler's first.......
.....well.....
.....award for anything, really"
Razzies: I am a joke to you?
Samuel Fisher it’s not shut the fuck up
Rocket lol
I can't say I've ever rated Adam Sandler's acting ability or found him funny but his performance in Uncut Gems was outstanding, I hope to see more of him in dramatic roles in the future.
He's a lot funnier than you Einstein :-)
Go watch Punch Drunk Love.
MagicAyrtonforever but Robert doesn’t make money from his humor. Sandler is a funny and talented guy, but most of his hate comes from him not using his talent or any humor in his movies and somehow continuing to have a career

I actually like Adam Sandler and the movies he stars in....from "you don't mess with the zohan" to "the longest yard" and so on....
He's versatile, talented and funny!
Oscars, see what you could have had! SEE WHAT YOU COULD HAVE HAD!!! Comic gold!
i love this so much. the funniest nd most honest speech I've ever watched
I love this man so much. I grew up watching him and I’m so happy he’s being recognized for his talent and not his horrible movies.
A monster of a performance by Adam Sandler in Uncut Gems. It is a tense thriller from start to finish.
Sandler is slowly turning into the caucasian Samuel L Jackson and I love it.

@Coca-Control how stupid you must be
Adam is olive
look at you douche bags on this thread, the ones saying he’s not white are the same assholes who disown him as a white when he’s making funny movies, now y’all want to claim him GTFOH, and all y’all can go kick yourselves in the balls for bringing race into Adams spirit award.
Coca-Control calm down hitler
Everyone was so happy for him
Adam is so amazing! Love his early comedy movies and even his new ones are sometimes a guilty mindless indulgence for me. His more serious roles, uncut gems and punch drunk love, both amazing. Hope he does more. Awesome speech too!
nostalgia feeling almost like watching 8 crazy nights for the first 100 times or an SNL skit from him when he started; this was amazingly hilarious and heartfelt
That extra applause at the end was well deserved
I love the reaction of the room, I come back to this sometimes for an endorphins hit
