Adam Sandler manager got him out of Inglourious Basterds and Guardians of the Galaxy and his manager almost got him out of uncut gems so he can continue to make garbage movies like Jack and Jill. Adam should consider firing his manager.
Pretty sure hes on contract sadly. He even might not be able to fight about it.

@@triangularshape8399 It's a pretty low budget film and it has been well received and loved by everyone who has seen it so idk. When Conan talked about the Lighthouse (another A24 film just like this one) he seemed more toned down about his excitement for the film.
And he's a man of culture so it's probably a good movie
No, he is one of the few who genuinely believe in Sandler, most of Adam's recent TV appearances before the film came out was by Conan
It was an amazing movie, and Adam Sandler, Conan's long time friend was in it. So yeah, it kinda make sense.
Adam looks so vulnerable. This is the first movie that he’s actually “tried” and put effort into in a while. It’s nice to see him realizing that he’s still got it

This movie was so, so, so damn good. And that ending was honestly one of the most shocking endings I've ever seen..
I have really bad anxiety during movies like Mission Impossible or any type of movie with any type of intense or suspenseful scenes. Uncut Gems doesn't give you a break, and my anxiety shot through the roof almost the entire time. I loved the movie.

One of the darkest movies I’ve seen in awhile. You can’t take your eyes away from the screen for a second, even though you know the movie’s not going to have a happy ending. Watching a man go down such a path of total self destruction is just.. wow.
The Safdie Brothers are fantastic filmmakers, and Adam easily just delivered the best performance of his career. It’s an absolutely travesty that he didn’t get nominated for an Oscar

@@jerkoftheyear4565 The fact that you saw it both times amazes me. You must have nerves of steel. I still remember the relief I felt when the movie ended and it shocked me. When the credits hit it just dawned on me what happened at the end. Those guys prolly left cuz they couldn't take the pressure. It's a really stressful movie to watch.

Sad thing is, is that’s the happiest ending Howard could possibly get. He might have paid Arno but at the end of the day he would bet all if not most of that money for another bet. He never really cared about the money he just liked winning. His gambling was a terrible addiction. He died winning and with a smile on his face.
Whenever Sandler wants, he can act with the best of them. His performance in Punch-Drunk Love was oscar worthy.

This was so awesome hearing Adam talk about his issue with crying. I have that same issue. I used to cry as a child when I was sad but as I grew up it just went away and my wife would tell me I was dead inside. Slowly the ability came back as my children got older and I started to get emotional about them leaving the home. Just nice to know others had this problem.
And a another good sign is that you shared your story brotha :)

I saw Punch-Drunk Love a few years ago and ever since I couldn't wait for him to do another serious movie.

I thought I was the only one. I was like Jesus give this guy a break ffs and even though I know it's a movie I was so nervous when they played that game 7, in fact I was nervous like it was my money/ass on the line haha just to leave me with a bitter taste in my mouth after that ending.
The directors are really talented
There was such an underlying sense of urgency throughout the entire movie, it never actually felt like there was a true moment’s rest for Howard which may have well been the point.
Sandler might go down having legit the weirdest career ever. Amazing films and absolute trash. Dude kills it or just mails it in.

totally, Little Nicky was easily one of the the worst movies I've even seen. I even walked out of the theater about 20 min before the end because I just didn't care at all. haha.

saw this movie on edibles. I was extremely stressed tf out by the end, but goddman it was such a great film. I think it did a good job of capturing both gambling addiction and the stresses of trying to keep up with that lifestyle

Of all the movies that came out in 2019 "Uncut Gem's" was surprisingly one of the best films of the year and with all the other power house box office hits that weren't all that great, this movie came as a refreshing and intense story and Sandler kills it.
Sandler showed what he could do with PUNCH DRUNK LOVE. There's a proper actor in there, he just needs to let it out

Man people like Adam are so rare. He's one of the very few actors/comedians that can do a movie where youre busting your gut laughing the whole time and then do another movie that such a serious movie and do it so well
Conan is probably the only talkshow host that’s genuinely interested in anything when he’s interviewing his guests. He’s really into this movie.
Adam embodied this character so well that its weird seeing him as himself after watching the movie. I think its his best performance ever.
Just saw it last night. Speaking objectively, it's easily among the top 5 leading male performances this year, and if he doesn't get the Best Actor nomination, it's absolutely due to insider bias.

Uncut Gems is one of the best anxiety induced films ever made. Adam Sandler delivered one hell of a performance since PTA's Punch Drunk Love. He better get nominated for an Oscar.

Sandler is a real friend for taking the Conan interview instead of an obnoxious Kimmel interview or with Fallon. This movie really is huge and no doubt his press would want him to be with more “professional” interviewers.
