In an interview with Conan, she actually talks about the only thing she didnt really wanted to do for a role was a musical number bc she is not really good at it but she did it anyway.So i think her comment about her comfort zone at the beginning was about that. She is doing something thats out of her comfort zone while singing and dancing.
