I want your hair so badddd. My hair is about the same curly level as yours and the same color. Except, my hair is really heat damaged but I’m scared to cut it
:(. A few of my hair pieces are so damaged that they are more wavy than curly. When I was younger, my hair was as curly as yours, but very thin. Now it’s thicker and I really hope I can get my hair healthy and to look like yours! If it looked like yours I would not stop touching and looking in the mirror.

you guys also have to remember your curl type !! atm i have 2b-3a hair. but it’s originally 3b atm I’m transitioning. but i have high porosity. i remember once i sectioned to put product. but as i was finger coiling my hair i noticed the curls didn’t form like how they did the day before. and the reason for that was because of how loose my curl pattern is and all that product weighted it down ( i didn’t put that much product in one section btw ) . even tho i have high porosity i still have to keep my curl pattern in mind. so sorta try to find a balance.

Wow this was so incredibly helpful i had heard of it but i wasn't rlly sure what it was today and turns out i have been treating my hair like high porosity when it should've been for low porosity. Before I even tried these tests I related to them. Thank you so much! Also do you know other oils that are good for low porosity (argan, olive, etc.)
Ps if anyone knows please reply! thank you

Hi :) Did you not mention your hair porosity in this vid or did I miss it? Reason I ask is bc I have the same curl type and color as you, but my hair is fine, low density, & high porosity (in other words, a nightmare lol). I was watching your video about layering products, because I really need help getting my curls to form better, but I wanted to know if your hair was also high porosity, otherwise I don't think I can use the same stuff =/

  • @leylarustamova
    @leylarustamova 5 років тому +1

Can your hair be both low and high porosity? My problematic hair, aka the hair that grows out from my crown, dries really fast , and gets soaking wet fast it’s a powerful shower stream, or if I dive into water, but if I spray, the beads of water sit on top and it looks kinda magical, and despite that it never absorbs oils or products and is really simple damaged and dry. It’s like I have both low and high porosity😂
5:03 I think the quality of water will matter as well. All of my hair, all parts of it, problematic and incredible respond better to drinking or filtered or rain or mountain-river water, rather than the water in our house, because we do have really harsh water here in our city (Baku) and lately it’s been getting worse. I can get out of the shower and if I don’t put something hydrating or moisturizing on my skin, then my knees, elbows, cheeks, jaw lines etc. get so tight and dry, like I showered with chlorine😂
6:11 again, my crown hair is like that, and my left temple strands too, they're super rough and all the things i have mentioned above, but the hair that grows out from my nape is a lot healthier and super smooth, but it's not dry or stubborn like low porosity hair, and it gets weighed down easily, and loves any product i put on it.
IN CONCLUSION: thanks to many factors of my past and present, i just want to shave all of my hair off, and wear a wig for 6 months, until healthy, 100% virgin hair grows out.

    • @franceskeller4536

Theres a-lot of faulty info about high porosity out there. I would suggest micro fiber towel drying for a little bit to get the excess water out. Do not plop! That will kill your root lift and volume. HP hair takes in water very easily and becomes soaking wet super quick, so it takes forever to dry. It also tends to clump together with the other curl families, so getting a-lot of excess water out will help alot. Low porosity dries quickly because of water not wanting to get in. The hair stylist I consulted with also has a science background! The Curl Ninja on IG. I genuinely hope this all helps you! 😊❤️

Ok, so i have like 2c and 3a hair type mix. I've been straightening my hair since 12 years of age and i'm now 17. I've only been straightening my hair once a week, usually or always on sundays before school. My hair is pretty damaged, it gets dry and brittle and just won't stay in place. I have now proudly put the straightener away and had my curls out for a week, and i'm of course planning on doing so forever. I'm using shea moisture shampoo, conditioner and deep conditioner. The thing is i don't know if these products are pretty harsh for my hair or not (note: i have kinda thin hair from the heat damage and it goes to a shoulder length, actually quite pass my shoulders). And i can't afford deva curl because 1. Heck expensive 2. I live in Sweden so the shipping is not making it any better 3. I can't find any deva curl products near i live.
Why i'm writing this comment is because i need help. Some of my questions, would really appreciate if anyone answers:
How many times a week should i deep condition, 1,2, or 3? I deep condition once a week before my shampooing and conditioning and leave it on for 30min.
How much of the conditioner should i leave in my hair for best moisture over the week? I don't use a leave in because it makes my hair hard and stiff.
Should i buy a denman brush and a tangle teezer? I detangle and brush my hair with my fingers.
What are good curly hair products for my hair type instead of shea moisture, and that are beneficial for damaged hair?
How many times a week should i shampoo my hair, 2 times?. And if so, should i deep condition and use normal conditioner as well?
BTW: I air dry my hair, i scrunch my curls when wet, i sleep on a satin pillow case, every morning i wet my hair with water to hydrate my hair for the day.

    • @clare10198

I have a similar hair type and i would suggest deep conditioning once a week, use a small amount of leave in conditioner, you don’t really need a brush but if you want one I would suggest the denman brush and shampoo your hair depending on your needs

I have a Denman brush and I can honestly say it's great at distributing product if you have thick hair but it will snag it if your hair is damaged. Use a nourishing conditioner and with a wide tooth comb. Shea moisture has also come our with a transitioning hair range but if recommend you buy it. I'm currently using the strengthen and restore range for my shampoo, deep conditioner and leave in and the detangling one and it stays detangled for about a week. It is pricey but nothing in comparison to devacurl and I've managed to get all of them to last a year. Shea moisture products are also quite viscous hence they've lasted a while. I'd also recommend you look at some protective hair styles. It'll keep your hair detangled and moisturised for longer. I'm so sorry this is so long... And stay away from styling gels and sprays. The tension will cause damage to continue to worse because of the tension in the style.
      Again I'm really sorry...

If we straighten our hair ( brazilian keratin treatment ) can we still know our porisity ? Doesn't it change the texture of our hair ? Also my hair takes hours to dry, sometimes when I just washed my hair, and go sleep and the morning my hair is still wet so I think I have low porosity but not sure since I had a keratin treatment
