    I started spraying my roots with ACV/water mix along with my pre poo, to calm my scalp and break up any build up. Either as a final rinse or sprayed into my deep conditioner….game changer. My hair still feels clean but it doesn’t feel as stripped as it usually does i think it’s bc it drops the ph of the shampoo a bit. As a final step in my routine my hair just feels smoother and sleeker. I’m excited to see what doing this over the course of the year does to my hair.

      Same - I spritz it on 15-20 mins before shampoo and as a final rinse after deep condish; I'll never do without this step. My hair feels so soft, is more manageable for styling and overall smoother and shinier. I honestly think it's due to incorporating ACV/water

    I am so glad I stumbled upon your channel. I tried the deep conditioning with the AVC rinse on top method, and all I can say is WOW. My curls were more defined throughout the strand, and my hair was so soft, shiny and manageable. Also my natural hair color just looked so much richer if that makes any sense.
    I'm currently a flat twist girl, but with the way my hair was looking after washing it, I'm finally ready to try wash and gos. I've been natural over 10 years and haven't successfully completed one. Wish me luck!

    That's good that your hair can take ACV rinses on wash days. Some people's hair can't. My cousin did them once a week as well & her long pretty hair was long, stringy, ate out, & unhealthy & had to be cut many inches within one year. That acid was eating her cuticle, shaft, & all of her hair out over time! That was a few years ago & without using the ACV so often (2x in 3 years) her hair is back to being healthy & long. I guess her hair couldn't thrive with it as often as your hair can.

    Happy I found your page. I have a question/request: Can you do a video on humectants and the weather? My hair is really high porosity, and using any kind of humenctant (man made or natural) works so against me 😢. Meaning I can never where my natural hair out/down because the humectants work too much with the moosture in the air.
    So for me the whole: draws moisture to the hair is good, is actually a bad thing for my hair. 😢
    Is Acv rinse really enough to seal my cuticle?
    Im looking now into products that are really low in humectants, but most of the time They are thick and full of oils and make my hair greasy and weighed down, so then i feel the need to use a little heat to stretch my style (after it has dried) just to get back Some volume (else my hair looks like a wet dog who had almost no hair😅)

    • @naturalnadinee

      Hey! Sorry for my lateee response! && yes as a first I’d try ACV which will help seal your hair cuticles, also I know silicones are a swear word but they could actually help in your case! They’re more lightweight than oils Etc and still form a protective barrier over our hair to protect from the environment xxx

      I have the same issue. I live in the southwest Florida. The only time I can use a product with glycerin is when I’m going to rinse it out. Otherwise I style with products that have little to no glycerin in them such as Kinky Curly Knot Today and Kinky Curly Curling Custard. I don’t use silicones because I don’t use conventional shampoos - they strip my hair way too much, including the non SLS shampoos. I use only clays and herbs to cleanse my hair (with ACV mixed in them of course 😅).

However what about Blacks that have multiple hair textures in their head because they have more than one ethnicity (African and Caucasian)? I believe I have both HP and LP. Thank you girl! I really appreciate it and it’s possible to have numerous textures and a spectrum of porosity on one head some areas are lower some can be higher! With regards to dual ethnicities eg one white parent and one black parent will vary completely due to genetics and the individual. It can vary even with siblings that have the same parents textures and porosities can be different😭 I’d say in a case like that just be aware of the different characteristics your hair could possess based on ethnicity and try to assess your own hair on which category suits you best! How much Apple Cider Vinegar and water ratio do you suggest we use to lower the Ph level? I hear so many different ratios. 1 part vinegar to 6 parts water one chemist told me. I have heard 1 teaspoon to 2 cups of water from another chemist. What do you suggest? These other chemists are still saying we have low porosity hair. I would like to know your suggestion if you don't mind. I am trying to get my hair right.

    What do you recommend for someone like myself? I have high po, looser curls through my whole head, EXCEPT for the whole front "perimeter only" of my hair I have 4c and low porosity😢 (You know the part when you get a sew in weave, that front section of the hair thats set aside to cover the weave tracts after sewing the hair. The leave out part.) That part of my hair just hardly ever absorbs the conditioner, products will just sit on top in beads.
    I haven't found my hair twin on yt yet lol How can moisturize my low porosity section that happens to be the front perimeter of my hair? Any tips🤷🏾‍♀️😚💗

    • @naturalnadinee
      @naturalnadinee  Рік тому

      yes especially in curly state its better to use a heat cap than steam if you want long term moisture retention! I'd only recommend steaming for straight haired people who will inevitably straighten their hair which seals their cuticle with heat!xxxx

    I disagree about black people not having Low Porosity hair, because i do, but i have always known about PH balancing so i have always done ACV rinses. I don’t do LCO/LOC method. I have always been able to retain moisture for long periods of time without needing to re-moisturise.
    I have always taken what tips i needed from content and i leave what i don’t need.
    I honestly used to think i was high Porosity but its my hair itself that has shown she is not High-Po 😅
    Its fine, takes longer to absorb products, i can’t do anything to it wet, it has to be damp, i need steam to deep condition. Once my hair is sealed its SEALED nothing else will penetrate till i wash again etc 😅

      The STUDIES that Nadine took the time to read to us demonstrate that African hair cuticles are more lifted than others so that fact has nothing to do w opinion.
      However the population they studied doesn't cover 100% of all African genetics or all mixed ancestry people.
      So your personal cuticles don't invalidate the studies that describe most African cuticles.

    • @naturalnadinee
      @naturalnadinee  2 роки тому

      To be honest the bentonite clay typically has ACV mix so I don’t see why not the same for Kaolin clay! I would mix to skip the extra step just know the DC will take a bit longer to penetrate as you’ve sealed your cuticles x

    Ummmm many many many black girls have LOW porosity hair and their hair stays wet for like daaaays after wash day
    ……… so i don’t know about the beginning statement

    • @IvyMercedes1687
      @IvyMercedes1687 3 дні тому +1

      That's because of the density of the hair strands. Not because of the hair porosity, obviously someone with a looser curl pattern hair will dry faster. Black people can only have high porosity hair there is scientific research that backs this up.

    • @IvyMercedes1687
      @IvyMercedes1687 3 дні тому +1

      Black people’s hair is extremely dry and protein sensitive. This is a big sign of high porosity hair, people with low porosity hair can't get protein sensitive hair. They don't need to use butters, creams, oils and grease to stop their hair from drying out, other races with straight hair don't need to do this for their hair.

    Wait so you don’t wash out the deep conditioner you just apply the acv right on top?
    Also can I use a regular conditioner to rinse out the acv and deep conditioner or should I just not use a regular conditioner?
    And after this routine do you have to moisturize / do an LCO routine/ apply any extra oils?

    • @naturalnadinee
      @naturalnadinee  2 роки тому +34

      Yes! So I apply a deep conditioner a couple seconds later apply ACV mixture then work in. (This seals the moisture from the deep conditioner into my hair) Keep the “mixture” on for 20 minutes or however long you deep condition for. Then rinse.
      I used to apply the ACV before the deep conditioner as ACV has cleansing properties but I wasn’t absorbing as much DC as I’d like. When I applied it after deep conditioning I’d find it would almost remove the deep conditioner I applied on so applying simultaneously has been the sweet spot for me😌
      I no longer use leave in conditioners/creams/oil because ny hair doesn’t need it (if your hair does keep doing it but you’ll find the more you seal your cuticle the less extra products you’ll feel the need to add, especially oils) but my trick is when I apply my conditioner I rinse out most of it and leave a little in my hair. Rinse out&leave in conditioners are formulated the same so it just cuts out the extra steps and products. Then I’d style with my styling product (gel).
      Sorry for the big fat essay🤣🤣🤍🤍
