Im 15 and I have only just discovered the curly girl world and it has helped my confidence and self value so much as I now have healthy 3b curls whereas before I had frizz I really appreciate how much u contributed towards this ur such a inspiration for all curly girls out there thank u so much xx
Same!
How did you get rid of the frizz? I have the same hair type but idk what to do yo maintain it
@@alexandraf.8046 Sleeping with a silk or satin bonnet that can be gotten for cheap on Amazon helps a lot also the order I put in product so I put in a cream for moisture and definition and I also use the denman brush method and then I use a gel to seal it
Eabha Power i had the exact same problem as u. I’m 14 and I also have 3b hair
I wish I discovered this when I was 15
On my first hair day i have like 2b and 2c curls but after a few days they look more like 2a hair😭 am I the only one?
Nyota Stari totally!! My first day i have 3a and a few days it change to 2c
nadia gonzalez with me I changed how I wear my hair at night and cz I'm transitioning and my hair isn't 100% healthy my curls loosened throughout the week
Xxx hi! Im in transitioning too maybe thats way and i think my hair is too short for a pineaple so i sleep with my hair loose (of course with a satin cover for my pillow)
Mine gets curlier each day, especially after I refresh once during the week.
sometimes i'll wash my hair and the bits framing my face are more 2c waves and then as i go throughout the week (especially with a refresh) everything gets so much curlier. even some days i'll wake up, refresh, have a look and then when i come home of the evening the curls are much tighter than i remember haha - maybe humidity?? i don't know
I think I have 2b 2c and 3a at the same time !😂
It depends on how I do my hair , if I didn’t diffuse my hair and just didn’t took as much care on my hair it can be sort of loose waves like very lose waves . But if I took care of it it becomes really curly , so that’s why I sometimes get really confused with my hair type.😓🤔
Nada Alfares hair twin!!!!!!! What’d your porosity?
Georgia Telio I think I have low porosity 🧐
yep! my hair is 2c, 3a, 3b, 3c depending on the day haha
Sameee suss😂🥵

Y'all I'm not even joking, I have 2c, 3a,3b,3c. Idk whats wrong with my hair
Your hair looks wavy.
from your profile i would assume 2c
My hair is 5% 2c , 35% 3a, 50% 3b, 10% 3c .
Sofia Lepe
Girl, no you do not lmao. We can see your profile pic ..
Sofia Lepe your Hair looks like 2a-2b definitly not even almost close to 2c-3c
I’m really young and still trying to love my 4 type hair! (4a/4b) everyone at my school has really loose curls, so I’m around a lot of people with loose curls or straight hair, hopefully soon I can love my hair!
Go girl...keep rocking
Your hair is yours. It depends on you! I rock my 4a/4b hair everyday! You can do it too 😘
Hey! Type 4 hair is just as beautiful as loose curls their different and beautiful so keep rocking ur style 💖
Your hair is your own crown. It comes with Love and Duty while styling your natural hair.
Everyone talking about having 2c to 3c hair while I’m here with my 4c self
elizabeth mickens Exactly I cant find any type 4 people in the comments

@gabriella gabriella I like type 3's
Allura Elizabeth . And your hair is beautiful either way♥️

I honestly struggle with finding my type, even looking at photos can be a struggle. The video helped but like I’m stuck between 2C or 3A, but like I don’t know😂
Me too! My hair is a lot frizzier than the photos. So not really able to identify.😕😂
The same....
Same! I’m just gonna go with 2C-3A because my hair does whatever it wants, whenever it wants 😅
So agree with you. I can get 2C through 3C depending on humidity, warmth etc. Underneath I almost always have ringlets.

I have a combo of 2c3a and3b💜💜💜💜
Layan Almuhanna me tooooo
Bianca Salinas that’s so cool never meet anyone with my same curl type💜💜💜
Bianca Salinas can I ask you a question what do you use for your hair💖
Layan Almuhanna well in my country we don’t have many products for curly hair but I usually don’t use a lot of heavy products, I use gels, and styling creams after getting out of the shower and a cream (it’s a type of refresher let’s say) for day 2 and 3
Layan Almuhanna what products do you use? Because I have started my journey this year so I don’t know a lot
I am on a curly hair journey. i was straightening my hair on a daily basis for the past 8 years and now I'm on a mission to get my curly pattern back. From what I remember I fall under the 3 range, but I probably won't be able to tell until my hair gets healthy once again. this video helped a lot to begin to understand my hair. :)
Omg girl you’re drop dead gorgeous
pls make a video about hair shedding and hair growth ❤️
Yeshhhhhhhhhhhh
Im wavy, curly, and frizzy. I can actually relate to you in regards to wet hair and mane brusing and my hair looking straight but as it drys Im curly. I guess im between a 2 and a 3. Thank you for your video.
For the past year I have constantly straightened my hair due to not feeling confident with it. Thanks to your videos I’ve started wearing my hair with it natural curls and I’ve managed to make my curls a lot more defined.
My hair is curlier than 3b but looser than 3c is there a 3b and a half category?
Shukri Isse yes it’s 3b-3c hair you can be a mixture ❤️
sameee
Shukri Isse same with me but 2B-2C
Same here 🥺❤

I’m lost sometimes my hair 2c and sometimes it definitely 3a
LAYLA m perfectly normal to have a combo of both!
My hair goes between 2c and 3a too 😄

My hair Can range from 3A -3B and yes!!! I can put it up in a slick bun after the shower and dry it over night semi straight without using a straightener or blow dryer but if I leave it down or add any styling products it curls really well!
I have 3b and 3c curls! I only started watching your videos in recent months and after following your routine my hair had looked so much better! tho it still gets bit frizzy especially after day 2 but I'm happy that it looks so much defined, bouncier and lively. Good job on your videos and I look forward to more content from you! :)
She is so beautiful it hurts
they're so pretty it hurts....
My hair is like a mix of 3a and 3b I think it’s maybe depending on the day

this really helped me find my curl type! i’ve struggled to find what my hair type was as pictures on google showed so many different pictures and it was so confusing, i now understand that my hair is a mix of 2b, 2c and 3a hair! thankyou so much! and congrats on 80k! 💕
elanor thankyou 💛💛
Holy crap.
I have 3b. Stunned. The last few years of playing with my curls could've been so much easier...

I love how you mentioned that your hair can brush straight when it’s wet.. I mixed (W&B) and have always been a little confused about my curl pattern because my hair can brush straight when it’s wet as well. Also, how you mentioned how 3a-3b hair can be manipulated.. because this is so me, and it’s so true. You can basically do anything... this is prob the best curl pattern video it really helped a lot.... 🤍
3B/3C over here! Love watching your videos because they really help me, I now defuse my hair like yours and it looks sooooo much better, going to also get it cut really soon xx
I didn't know I had curls up until 7 months ago, so I'm still getting to know my hair and your videos really help. Thank you so so much!!
I've got type 3A/3B. Never used to know my hair was even that curly. As a guy who only started growing it out back in high school I just treated it the same as I always did (very rough, quick and lazy). Can't thank this community enough for helping me out haha
Oohh, this actually helped me find my hair type tysm ❤😁💯 I'm 2a( the first pic at 4:28), sooo many charts were showing my hair type as 3a, and all 3a hair routines/tutorials were NOT working. Your explanation made a lot of sense. Thanks again
Im 12 years old and I think ive been watching your videos for about a year and you really helped me become comfortable with my curly hair. Im mixed with a whole bunch of things so my hair has become much more difficult to deal with and your videos have helped me maintain my hair and most importantly to love my hair. I loveee your channel and i cant wait till you reach 1 million , i love you and your curls💕❤ thank you for helping me become happu with my hair type. ( i have a mix of 3b and 3c hair)
I have, 3a, 3b, and 3c (mainly 3b and 3c)
After watching your videos I've been very inspired. I have been heat styling my hair for 18 years. I'm starting my curl journey tomorrow!
I think I fall under 3A-B excited 😍😍😍😍
2a, a lot of the wavy girls I can find are 2b and 2c so not fully like mine. But learning tips from curly girls has helped me figure my frizz and moisture out! Co washing has really helped my dry scalp and helps keep my hair tangle free
I’m not sure what my hair type is. I’m recovering from a lot of heat damage. Like 11 years of applying heat so I’m excited to have found your channel. My hair used to be 3b when I was younger. I hope I can get it back. You are gorgeous by the way. Please don’t stop making videos :)
Actually, type 1 does have 3 delineations, all dealing with texture and thickness, all equally straight.
-1A is thin strand, thin density, straight hair with fine texture
-1B is medium strand, medium density, straight hair with medium texture
-1C is thick strand, thick density, straight hair with coarse texture.
It's still straight hair💀
There are different types of straight hair. But those characteristics isn't relevant to a curl pattern chart since it's all still straight.
My hair is 2c when it's drying, 2b when its been dry for a bit and 2a until i wash it again lmao
I'm a guy who's trying to grow his hair. I feel like we have very similar hair, which is reassuring cos yours is beautiful!
my hair is weird. like it's not as loose as 3c but it's not as tight as 4a
Saaaammmee But I Do Have Some 4a Hair In The Middle Of My Head
SAMEEE
3b, with some 3a :) I used to think 2c, but since i started using the right products my hair has become much more ringlet-y and curly 😎🙌🏽
I think I got a mix of 3b and 3c curls, but mostly 3c🤷♀️😂💕
If this were to be a spectrum it would be.
3b----------|--------+---3c
The plus shows where i would be
Finally someone explains it. Hair textures are so different, you need to know your hair. My hair type is type 4 ( 4a ) dries out real fast
My 3b hair has so much volume...would always grow into a triangle, as you said. But thanks to you I will be growing it in three different levels. W you product suggestions, denman brush and all, can't wait for the results!
MaryCR yay!!
i thought i had 2c hair my whole life but i am starting to actually take care of my hair and i have 3a/3b hair and i had no idea!! thank you your videos have been such an amazing resource for me
my whole life ive been brushing my hair and deforming my curl pattern because i didnt know how to take care of it... do you have any advice on getting my pattern back?
ua-cam.com/video/skz9UFIoONY/v-deo.html Hope this helps!
Thank you so much Jayme this video is insightful. It helps me see how much I ve not done in caring for my daughter’s hair. She was born with a type 2A hair. But since forever I never used products to maintain her her.Today she has type3/4 A 4B hair
My hair is 2b/2c and the top of my head is medium thickness and the bottom of my hair is really coarse and thick
-Your hair (and mine) is straight when wet because of TEXTURE. I have the texture you do.
My friend is a 3B but her texture is coarse and her hair is very thick and her curls do not get as straight as ours do when wet.
-My hair is divided in thirds top to bottom. I have thin 2C on my crown (not good) thick 3B underneath on the bottom and medium 3A in the middle!
Great explanation. I had a lot of trouble identifying my curl type over the last 3 years, since they differ based on drawn charts/photo charts and not all of my strands are the same. I now believe I am 3A. I also span the 2 range but probably mostly due to finger combing to wear up, exposure to the elements, etc. It definitely straightens out a lot more when brushed. My ends and under layers are much curlier than the rest, so I think that is my natural curl. They start to form 3B ringlets typically only right at the end, the last curl, so I don't think that's enough to put me into the 3B category.
Looking at the chart I'm now shock to see, I am more of a 3A than a 3B. My hair falls flat on the top of my head, and is hard to fluff out. My hair when wash seem to fall naturally into a part down the middle of my head and my hair is flat on top. I can never get an Afro as my hair is to fine and soft hair texture to achieve this type of hair style and my fine curls are easily weigh down by heavy styling products.
I don't really use anything in my hair and I have 2c and 3a but when I use a diffuser I have 3c and 4a.And I am bringing back my natural curls.Going for my natural curls category 4😊
I think I have 2c-3a hair, I've been doing the cg method for half a year and i have a lot of trouble refreshing bc when I put it in a pineapple it gets stretched out and simply spraying it won't refresh them to how they were on day 1, any tips?
• LovesickPill • Same, maybe wear a bonnet?
I had the same issue with the pineapple. For me, simply flipping my hair up on my pillow so I’m not lying on most it helps to preserve the curls better than a pineapple. And it’s very low effort so I would suggest giving it a try. Alternatively, u could also try wrapping your hair up in a silk/satin scarf if u don’t wanna buy a bonnet
@@queenwhatever5217 I do this as well. Works
I love that I share a curl type with Jayme! Me too have 3B hair
When I had long hair I did have 3a 3b curls, since I cut them short I kinda have 2b 2c 3a curls! Hate that
No Name maybe cuz ur hair doesn't curl the tightest at the root, I had the same problem when I cut my hair real short so it sort of looked like I had straight wavy hair with a lil curl at the bottom
Same but my hair has grown now thankfully
I was born with straight hair with a slight wave. From ages 5-11 I had pin straight hair. Then when I turned 12/13 my hair got really wavy from my ear down and was very frizzy. Now in my 30’s my hair is wavy with some curly pieces especially in the back. So I would type my hair as a 2B with some 2C in there.
love the video!
But i just have to mention, type 2 hair texture (2a to 2c) is NOT curly hair. I know so many girls that have texture 2 hair claiming that their hair is 'curly' when in fact it isn't. Type 1 is straight, type 2 is wavy, type 3 is curly and type 4 is kinky/coily so no, type 2 hair IS NOT curly lol. I dont get why it's hard for wavy haired people to just admit that their hair isn't curly instead of claiming they have 'curls' when in fact, they dont.
I’m new to the curly girl world. I have 3A hair. Love your videos. I’m learning so, so much about my hair. Thanks for doing these videos. I am literally changing my life. I have newfound confidence to play with different hairstyles and your informative videos are helping me a lot. God bless!
I just found out my hair is naturally curly and your videos have helped me so much! I am a 3ab and your routine works perfectly! This is an amazing channel!
I think my curls are either 3a or 3b... anyway what I have found in my life is that, at least for me, often products which are meant to relax my curls actually have the effect of making my curls look really good, but not relaxing them. There's a shampoo called Kerastace "bain oleo-relax," it comes in a transparent bottle with an orange cap and the shampoo itself is orange. It's the only shampoo I've ever come across that makes a noticeable difference in my hair, even if I don't use conditioner. Nothing I had ever used had ever made my curls so bouncy and soft as this shampoo (not trying to advertise for it or anything). It's a little pricey and I think that in theory you can only get it at hair salons, but I have bought it on Amazon before. In addition, in the past I've also used various other products meant to relax your curls before using a flat iron or something, but instead I would just leave these products in my hair and scrunch it, and my curls would come out soft. When all else fails, I used to use Suave mousse which also left my curls shiny and relatively soft.
I honestly believe the back of my hair has more loose curls than the front of my hair. Idk if that has anything to do with the cut of my hair but I have my hair cut in layers. With the shrinkage it is slightly over my shoulder but I usually keep it at about shoulder length. I am still trying to figure out which products work best for my hair. This video gave me something else to consider about how to get the most out of my curls by determining my hair type. So thanks @jaymejo
I got a supposed keratin therapy in September and my hair is still curly, but not as curly as before, I am now reviving my hair or at least trying to and you’ve helped me incredibly much! I think I have around the 3a 3b category cause I can get quite coily hair now with proper styling but I don’t know and I’m really confused about it and it kind of discouraged me of taking proper care of my hair because it’s not “curly enough”
Just starting looking into properly take care of my curly hair. Right now it’s 2c/3a but I’m hoping once I start taking care of it properly and get my PCOS under control (my hair thinned out due to PCOS), that my hair will be fully 3a!
3b here I'm honestly so relieved I can just watch this as my own hair. Its like looking in a hair mirror and your tips are incredibly helpful.
Between type 2 and 3, this video help so much thanks girl.
I think those videos are so helpful, I was for the longest time convinced I had 3c hair because my hair was dry, like, I genuinely thought that because my hair was puffy and mostly ridiculously shapeless (a shapeless 3c, can you imagine?). My hair is mostly 3b, I have a few 3c in the front and some 3a at the crown of my head, but as soon as I started hydrating my hair the loose but defined pattern was so clear, plus, my hair looked like a very dry 2c/3a before, because of me dying my hair, it never looked 3c, I just had that idea that if it was dry and curly it must be closer to 4 types. I was just really lost.
Can you please do a video about diffusing because I have one and I don’t know how it works 💖btw you’re my favorite UA-camd
I have a misturera of all 3 abc types, which is kinda annoying but like oh well 😂
This was THE BEST video I have seen regarding hair types. FINALLY....I know which type I have!! Thanks Jayme Jo!!! I'm a new subscriber and I love your videos!!! Cheers!
My hair is closest to 3b and I love love apple cider vinegar rinses and using organic castor oil to scrunch my hair when it’s damp OR finger form individual curls. Castor oil is very sticky and acts kind of like a (actually moisturizing) curl-holding gel. It doesn’t break me out and is fully absorbed into my hair within a few hours. I find that I only need two tablespoons of apple cider per cup of water or so. I’m still trying to figure out the best and healthiest ratio.
my hair really frustrates me- if i diffuse it with scrunching gel its 3a/b at the front (with TONS of volume) and gets looser at the back. if i just let it dry is goes loose 3a but flat af ad almost straight at the back. when i brush it is goes 2b or straight if its greasy. right now its literally combination type 2b-3b and very fluffy/soft. its just really inconvenient to style because i constantly feel like im faking the type 3 even though it is my natural type at the front. for context im white english and growing my virgin hair out from buzzcut- the fornt is just past my cheekbones and the back is to the nape of my neck.
EDIT: that section about feeling like its a fake curl pattern actually really reassured me, when i comb my hair to get rid of any knots or shedding it will be dead straight but curls back! this is acc so useful for me bc i haven't encouraged my curls since i was maybe 5/6 and have had a buzzcut since 11 (im 16 now)
from this video id say im a 2c/3a combination, my hair is curlest when i put time into drying it and using light products so i think the straighter sections sre probably just from a/ the length being shorter and b/ putting less time into products or hair care in general. thank you so much for this video!
I have 3c hair and I hate it, sleeping is so hard 🙄
Mary ahh i have 3b hair but gc hair is so gorgeous thoo!!
Try 4c
I'm pretty sure I have Type 2c. My beautiful daughters have type 3a and 3b&c levels❤ Very informative, thank you.
2c/3a guy here. I need to start maintaining my curls properly!
, I know you don't normally brush your hair when it's wet but just for the people that do do not brush your hair when it's wet you can comb it in the shower when you have conditioner on it but do not brush it or coma after you get out of the shower at all do not pull your curls down at all when you're putting product and scrunch in scrunch in scrunch in and do not use Pantene do not use Aussie look up or by OGX any of them work
im in type 3 and my hair gets straight when I brush it as well its so funny to watch it just scrunch up lol …. your hair and you are beautiful bye the way
Now I know that I definitely have 3b curl thank you so much your video helped out a lot😍
Great advice. 👍I've got the same hair type, 3b, and I've had similar experiences with having to straighten my curls as a child. I use a 3-step process after shampooing and conditioning. Carol's Daughter Hair Milk, Carol's Daughter Coco Crème Coil Enhancing Moisture Butter, then lastly, Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Gel Souffle. WORKS awesome together! Guaranteed. That's my tip. Thanks again. 😁
I use that brush! And, 3c girl right here!
I have 2a hair. It’s annoying sometimes because it’s not straight and not wavy it’s just frizzy in a way. So I just put my hair in a braid and it turns out gorgeous
(Hopefully this maybe helps my confused 2a friends out there)💓😊🥰✨
Pretty sure I have a mix of 2c and 3a, but if I don’t refresh it at all over time it becomes 2a and 2b
I have 2B/2C 😊😁 and sometimes on my good days 3A lol I don’t know my type 😆
And Jayme when I brush my hair it turns straight to until it dries some people say I have straight hair too girl
Thank you for the insight on porosity in the beginning! So many people forget about that.
I'm a 3c/4a curly coily girl! I need help with moisture, meaning applying my products from root to tip.
I’m the same I believe I’m 3a and when my hair is wet it’s straight and if I brush it back especially once it on day 3-4 and oily it’ll be stay straight on the top but I got all the curls at the bottom.
Thank you , I really appreciate how you explained the hair type 🙏🏻
I have 3c hair but at the front of my hair it’s much looser.. like 3a\3b or maybe it’s just heat damage🤣
I got my curls when I was 13 and I’m now 19 and I’m having some difficulty with the top part always being a bit flatter... I have 3A but a bit of 3B and I was wondering if I could get some help with that
PrairieGirl 97 try using less product in your roots
My hair is extremely color damaged but after months of treating it I think I got my curls back now I got a 2c 3a hair but I feel like my hair would be much curler if it wasn't damaged
Watch my video on transitioning curls! X
I have literally have some straight pieces but my hair pretty much ranges from 2b to 3b :))
This is a great video. For the first time I know what kind of hair type I I have. And I love my curls.
I took the quiz and it said 3b. However, my curls are transitional and are really mixed looking 2c to 3b and they are not pretty. I hope when all is said and done, they look far better. I have straightened my hair all my life and am in my 3rd month of transitioning. Really trying to enjoy the journey but it is a lot to learn.
Dang I wish I had your hair, but I got 3c hair so it’s cool I guess
Ecks Dee I wish I had your hair type!,
3a/3b hair :)
3A here! 🙋🏻♀️ Finally figuring out my curls but still struggling with lift at the roots…
I'm closer to 3C with a little bit of 3B. This video was so helpful!
Someone please help! My hair has curls like hers but only at the back and bottom of my hair. When I diffuse it the front and sides a flat a wavy and whether or not I use product it gets really frizzy and feels like stiff or like there’s a lot of product in it my roots are also flat and I have zero volume. HELP what should I do? I want my whole head to be the curls I have at the back of my head.
3b curly here . It took me like 15 years to know my curl type and what curl creams work for my hair type.
3c/4a girl here ✊🏼 4b if I do curly girl method
i think im type 3c and 4a i really dont know cause my hair confuses me at times 😩😩
I personally think you showed 4a coils for 3c, but I really enjoyed the tips 💗
I'm transitioning and my hair is 2c/3a now, but my new growth is 3b😁👌
