was expecting the candy to be then crushed into a fine powder befor tossing it into the cotton candy machine. mind blown when you can get the same effect from solid pieces! japan seems magical.
In the end all that matters is that the sugar melts. Likely takes a bit longer to get going, but in the end it works out the same. What I'm more mind blown by is the matcha cotton candy. I didn't think such additives could have worked, with such fine threads of candy I thought the powder might be too big and interfere with the thread formation.
I have seen and have eaten a lot of cotton candy or fairy floss in my life. But I can honestly say this is the first time I have ever seen it made with hard candy and put into a jar...that has to be the smartest and prettiest way to show it...

I got my Old Time cotton candy machine at Walmart for under $30. It takes any kind of hard candy or flossing sugar and turns it into cotton candy. Works great and the kids love making it. Jolly ranchers make really good tasting cotton candy. (you put two jolly ranchers in the middle part and it spins to makes a big huge ball of cotton candy) But what they put in that jar is only equal to about a quarter of a jolly rancher candy if that. That is some very expensive cotton candy. My husband likes the butterscotch, cinnamon and root beer candies to make the cotton candy.
Same here! Mine is pink and white. I think it’s made by the Nostalgia company. Ours was a little more cost wise but I can’t remember where we got it. It was like 10 years ago lol

Ours is made super dense, fluffy still, but there's so much in the bag that you can't see through it like this was before packaged. I was gobsmacked at how little there was in the jar, 2 bites is just not enough. But then again, we have the obesity issue clearly hahahaa
