Author here! I hope you guys enjoy this series as much as you seemed to enjoy my abandoned ship series! I wrote this just after the Emergency Broadcast Test last year, and it was a blast to twist it into something sinister!
By the way, a quick little tidbit of info for everyone who reads this. Sherriff Wake's name is a nod to the Alan Wake video game, which I very much enjoyed, and his actual character is inspired by one of the main villains of the Stephen King novel Desperation. Keep an eye out in the next parts for other easter eggs and nods!

There's a reason why I have more than a few paperback editions of his books on my shelf!
And the story's setting and shoutout is both inspired and due to the fact that I had just finished reading Phantoms before sitting down to write this. I love dropping little easter eggs and hints to things that inspire me in my stories, and authors that kept my imagination, love of reading and dream of becoming a writer myself in my stories.
I miss listening to MrCreepypasta. I'm only able to do it at work with SoundCloud but he hasn't updated in months. This is the first time in ages I can lis5en on UA-cam.

Seems logical to assume R.F stands for Radio Frequency and looking at the effects I'd say the Ultra is a reference to MK ultra. Everyone affected were probably on the phone since the noise coming from the car stereo didn't affect the main characters. Since all transmissions are likely blocked, their best bet would be sneaking out of town or find some way to smash whatever is transmitting.

Oh, hell yeah! Way to give me something to break in my new headphones cable, my guy! First time in months that I've actually tracked one down that works - direct from the store or foraged from around the house - and I'm ecstatic to finally be able to hear things again (things are too tinny and distorted. My ears ain't how they used to be.) This is the perfect way to finally use them, and a great source of entertainment while I'm stuck with the ever droll task of making a blanket. On a vaguely related note - I never think that it's possible for you to somehow add things in or just make the general listening experience so much more astounding, incredible, and full of depth, but you manage to do it every single time, and I'm still blown away twelve years on after finding you on my first (now defunct) account. I can still remember the first iteration of Ashley Kansas, listening avidly to your take on the Slenderman tales, and having some of the most peculiar set of nightmares from your reading about the Rake as a lil' baby preteen and thinking that it was the most phenomenal thing I could've ever found because you blew my little brain away to the heavens. Was absolutely hooked and thinking that, no, nobody could EVER do it better, and that this human is an artist simply by his talent for story-telling and sound design alone. But you exceed any expectations you previously set with every one, and it's been an incredible journey listening to you evolve and grow as someone that really, truly can immerse someone into a new world. You've also made me so incredibly fussy about who I'm willing to listen to as well, lmao. There's only 4-6 others, I think. They have to meet the same standards or thereabouts just because I've spent so much time growing up with your audios and you really are unique and catch your listener's attention like none other.
Listen to Danny's Story by Chilling Tales for Dark nights. Its peak audio and probably the scariest pasta on the internet
If you like that, Google the whistlers. It's on a No Sleep podcast that can be tough to find. It's done by the same people and it's also terrifying.
The first one is about a man who's being stalked across the country by an entity with a huge twist that I won't ruin, And the second one is about a team who go to the extreme Northern Wilderness in Canada.
And I'm sure you know about the dark somnium who's probably the best sound designer who isn't part of a team like Chilling Tales for Dark Nights

I grew up in a town called Mendocino population 1 thousand people. N Cal coast and was born in a city with 6 thousand people. So I love stories like this with small creepy towns. 💯👍🇺🇸

@@Emerald_Raven08 it's walking us through every action in his day, even the ones that could be glossed over or simply implied. (Just say you grabbed breakfast, no one cares what you had).
The use of language is also very repetitive and bland. Using more flowery language could alleviate some of the drudgery.
I've forgotten my main issues with the direct writing (it's been a month, and the prose forced me to retreat). I hope my somewhat general and vague answer, explained my comment.

It was MCP who narrated it, and it's titled This is Not a Drill. You should find it under that. I remember that story, and really enjoyed listening to it two or three years ago, before I began writing myself.
