Love watching your dogs curl up with you in the tent. My favorite part of camping is making the fire, cooking over it and then enjoying sitting by it. Great way to relax.
Jason, I like watching these old video to see where you’ve come from. Your knife, chainsaw, skillet, pot to boil water and your pups are staples in your videos. One interesting comment... if you shot your cooking and eating breakfast without the truck, you could have been in a mountain-men video. The campfire smoke swirling around you was magical. Peace. Skillet
Miss them day's, used to go hunting with my pops all the time. And never went to hotel's, we roughed it like men. Rain, snow, didn't matter. Good time's and good video too btw
im glad im not the only guy that does winter camping. folks look at ya sideways when you tell them your into it, makes ya not want to share your experiences. ... thanks for sharing!
I love winter camping for the most part, and I know what you mean most people think I am crazy when I say heading out to go camping, lol. Thanks for watching. Jason
Wheeler is almost drooling staring at your breakfast. Lol. We hike back and have lunch in the bush somedays. We always get the big stare down from Panda and Marley.... but they know they are going to make out like bandits! We love how you take care of them❤️🐕🐕
I enjoyed your wintery overnight. I have travel 100s of miles many years ago in what was called the Air Camper car top tent....probably one of the first "japanese fan" type opening. Great fun. Love your two companions.
NIce vid Jason! I like the tent...I bet the dogs get big smiles on their faces when they realize your going to help them in when it gets dark...AND cold! Take care!
+Tim's Bushcraft and Outdoors Thanks Tim the dogs really seem to enjoy the tent I think it's because of the 3 inch foam mattress inside, lol, Thanks for the comment I really appreciate it Jason
The beginning of this video had a real cool remix feel, really liked the intro sequence. The morning of day 2 looked nothing short of perfect even with the wind
Thanks, Aaron I glad you liked the beginning, the second day really was nice, considering the weather report called for freezing rain so I will take sunshine and wind any day. Jason
This old lady just subscribed! I'm 60 now and if I didn't have such a horrible back I would take off! Enjoy your life and health and God Bless your journey.......Cathy Wv
Great video! I have the same tent for my Nissan Xterra. I'll set up the annex and then run the Heater Buddy on low down below - hooked up to a 5 gallon propane bottle outside the tent. It keeps the tent toasty warm. This past September, I was camping in SW Colorado and something came along and was rubbing against my vehicle. A strong downpour started just before dawn, and washed away any tracks it may have left. No cattle were being run in the area, so I can only wonder what it was - big enough to make the vehicle rock, whatever it was. Bear, lion, elk, moose - all possibilities. Then, to top it all off, you made bacon over the campfire! There is no better breakfast when camping. Plus, the smell of bacon frying in the woods is about as close to heaven as one can get.
I need to get the adapter to hook a bigger tank to my Mr Buddy, I have yet the setup the annex on mine, but I plan to try out soon. It would have interesting to find out what kind of animal it was. Thanks for watching. Jason
Subbed...Really like your style man. Mellow and in touch. Love cooking in the wild...food never tastes better than that. Thanks for your hard work filming/editing/downloading...Be well...stay warm! Woof to the dogs!
living the dream, those tents are great. I have one mounted to the rack on my chevy van, it is where my 2 boys sleep when we are camping, only in the spring and summer months, not the snow, maybe one day.
That sounds like a cool setup, we have so much snow right now I am looking very much forward to spring and summer right now. Thanks for watching. Jason
You are more then welcome. Keep doing what you are doing. I just grin when seeing young guys like you are still coming up the ranks. These days you sure dont get to see good young men like you much any more. I will be subbing you. Cheers.
It funny hearing you call me young I am 44 going on 45 here shortly and I don't feel so young anymore, and I wanted to get out and do as much as I can while I still can. Thanks for the support. Jason
I love this I will be using your video's as part of my training to prepare myself for free living once my daughter graduates from High school. I've been making a small list of things to purchase. I never thought of a roof tent, this would be a good way to feel things out on a weekend or overnight camping trip. Thanks for sharing
Jason, I'm always impressed by your videography skills, but this episode really blows me away with the amazing array of camera angles! I know from experience how much work you put into this production! If I didn't have video making on my mind, I would have been completely engaged in the great story you tell here! Outstanding job my friend!
I always appreciate your comments, and your praise of my videos mainly because you make great videos yourself with lots of great camera angles, that make your videos very engaging, and that is why I do my best never to miss one your videos. One thing you do that I definitely need to get better about is being more consistant with getting videos out, that will be my resolution for the New Year. Thanks for all the support you give me and my channel. Jason
Hey, I really like your video. The dogs seems like great companions though one of them I think was wanting a couple bits of your breakfast! Thanks for sharing. We need more people like you in the world with a good head on their shoulders and of course a love for this earth and nature.
Thank you Kaya, I have received a lot of comments about the dogs wanting some of my breakfast, so I have shown the dogs getting fed in every video since, lol. Thank so much for the great compliment. Jason
I really enjoyed the entire experience. Your video really answered a lot of questions for me such as would the Little Buddy Heater hold up for warmth, concerns about bringing the dogs and how it could be done, how simple/difficult would the set up be and so on. Your experience is just the kind of experience I'm looking for ...including breakfast with the dogs :). Thanks for letting us know that it can easily be done. :)
Wow, thank you, I am glad it was so helpful, I really enjoy having my dogs along, its not so easy to lift them into the tent but its small problem. The Thule racks made it possible for me to mount the tent low enough for me lift them in, I don't think I could do it if it was mounted on top of canopy. Thanks again for the great comment. Jason
It is nice being off the ground and I didn't have to clear a spot to set the tent either which is nice, thank you for watching and for commenting. Jason
I have to say I watched a lot of videos to try to prepare myself to fulltime as off grid and primal as I can. But I really like the way you camp and your ideas. I’m starting out in four months and staying local during summer before I head west . I plan to travel the weather and boondock a lot in short, thanks. ( I do like any ones vids without the music ) unless it’s country of course
I finally got found the book Wilderness Challenge and read it. That guy was definitely committed. I don't know if I could do 2 weeks by myself let alone a year, but I would want to take some classes like he did . Great book though.
Thanks buddy, great video. Copied a few of your techniques over the past year - including the heater buddy, tool box, water container and breakfast. Heading out tomorrow for some BC winter camping in the Tepui tent and ice fishing. Keep it up!
Let me tell you, something so simple but so well done and your little adventure helped me relax...I think my blood pressure went down 20 pts lol. I'm a city guy wondering if I've wasted too much of my life in the concrete jungle.
I am really glad you enjoyed it, and found a moment of peace, I find the outdoors almost like a drug the more use it the more addicted to it I get. Thanks for taking the time to watch and the comment. Jason
+Pat Myott Thank you I appreciate the compliment, the dogs do seem to enjoy the tent, I think the 3 inch foam mattress that comes with it has a lot to do with it, lol. Jason
Excellent video sir. Thanks for exporting the awe inspiring views of our great state to the rest of the world. Love your drone footage. Wishing you continued success. Have a good one.
I know this one is older..I’ve watched quite a few of yours..old to recent..but this was great! Made me long for the West Coast! Great work on this one.
Fab and inspirational vid..neat gear and location challenge. Luckily the bears were hibernating; the smell of that bacon had your dogs salivating. I hope you fed those critters the leftovers👍🏾
I am glad you liked the video. There are bears in that area but I have never had a problem with them coming into the camp they are pretty skittish of humans around here. The dogs always get extra treats when they are out camping :). Jason
It wasn't too bad especially the next day the weather was a little better than expected and it was pretty nice. Thanks for watching and leaving the comment. Jason
I am not really sure what to say about that, lol, but you don't need to be me or have what I have to get out and enjoy the outdoors, but thank you for the nice comment. Jason
I love your set up wow yournot on the cold ground your up in your truck nice and warm now that s what I call cozy you got the right idea and the dogs are happy cool . Love your video wish I was there with you enjoying the outdoor camping . As a friend nothing more in case you have a girl friend I didn’t mean no disrespect. Omg I had a skillet like yours I don’t have it anymore reminds me I need a new skillet for sure . Two thumbs up
Marian, I do love the setup and it is nice being up and off the ground. I don't have a girlfriend, so you don't have to worry about offending anyone, most woman wouldn't put up with me being gone in the woods every weekend, lol. Jason
Jason finished watching your q&a vid. I think this video does so well is because the narration feels fluid both through your narration and the sequence of the shots that you have put together. It also helped that actions that were shot feels sequential like I would have done the same sequence of setting of camp like I was there. Keep up the good work man cheers!
H Mura: congratulations on your retirement and thank you for your service to our great country. I retired from the Air Force in 1995 with 26 years. Good on ya.
Nice, I'm going to check into the roof toppers. "for a van." I would highly recommend a larger shovel for the sake of our backs. A catch 22 with the propane bottles. I have on many situations found that those bottles don't always work in cold environments! Seriously, the only time I need them is when it's damn cold and they don't work! Even a brand new bottle. Don't be suprized if this hsppens. Then propane will make everything sweat. Everything inside will have a aggravating dampness.
Lol, it is really nice your noticed, I had to make a wide circle through the trees to keep my foot prints from being in the shot. I lift them in, not easy but do able for me. Thanks so much for the comment. Jason
I'm a professional photographer. I tend to notice the 'little things'. I knew how you did it, but few take the time or effort to do so. I was afraid that carrying your friends up the ladder was going to be your answer. My companion is always with me. I had considered a roof-top tent for when I am not in the mood to back-pack but with arthritic hands I would be wary of attempting to climb a ladder while carrying my dog.
I think I've seen some tent units for truck beds, or people have modified truck toppers as campers, you could perhaps get a simple ramp that would drop down from the tailgate for your dog to go up into your truck? Just some thoughts.
I have a 90 pound hound that I set up the drop room for with a heater buddy and winter dog bed that works a little easier than lifting him up the ladder ...great video by the way keep up the good work
subbed , great job on the few videos I've watched. You obviously know what your doing. I'm one who doesn't mind the longer videos , I watch bushcraftbartons and his are near an hour long sometimes. It never gets boring watching a good winter over nighter or a trek out to cook around a fire in a snow storm or hanging in a tipi etc.
I really appreciate the nice comment, I will see about making some longer videos, again, in the early days of the channel my videos were longer, but I have pretty much got in the habit of not letting them get beyond 10 minutes. Thanks so much for the input. Jason
Just sub'd. Thanks for sharing and the inspiration. I use my heater in my Mt Shasta too on those chilly nights right before I turn in and I wake up. Makes me wonder how I never bought one sooner.
I know right, I even use mine to make my coffee in the morning inside the tent, I just hang a pot from the center pole right over the heater, works pretty good. Thanks for watching. Jason
Love watching your dogs curl up with you in the tent. My favorite part of camping is making the fire, cooking over it and then enjoying sitting by it. Great way to relax.
I like how you never let weather or anything else get in the way of your next adventure.
Love going back and watching these older videos
Great video. A brilliant alternative to putting a tarp up. Nothing better than a man and his dog in the wilderness
Thank you, it was a very fun and relaxing trip and I always enjoy being out with the dogs.
Jason
Lol your dog is just screaming give me some of that breakfast!
Peace. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one that does stuff like this on the spur of the moment,
A man, two dogs, and his drone. Good camping.
Agreed, I very much enjoy getting out like this and spending time with dogs. Thanks for watching.
Jason
I actually forgot I commented until just now. Also all that freezing rain made it a two dog night, three without your heater.
Nothing like winter to get some peace and quiet.
That is very true, thanks for watching.
Jason
Nothing like Bacon and Eggs on an open fire!. Shasta looks stunning this time of the year TY for the video.
Thats a very fulfilling camping experience. You don't need local guides, dogs are enough and will give uou peace of mind in the forest
The guitar music background and the beautiful scenery worked great together.
Cool I am glad you enjoyed, thanks for the comment and the feedback.
Jason
Now that is living large. Another great video. Appreciate the book shout out.
+William Collins No problem William I am really enjoying it.
Jason
Not sure how I came across this vid, but it was well worth watching. The pace of the video and music really matched the surroundings.
I am starting to wonder how so many folks have found this video also, but I am glad you enjoyed and thank you for the compliment.
Jason
Miss them day's, used to go hunting with my pops all the time. And never went to hotel's, we roughed it like men. Rain, snow, didn't matter. Good time's and good video too btw
Love your content man. We need to remember to slow down. Enjoy what we have around us. Unplug.
dillbone34 absolutely!! I need to do that

You really know how to marry comfort and raw nature. Amazing. Awesome background music. Thank you for such beautiful upload.
Great video. Love it. It's not just watching on a screen.. it somehow captured the feeling of being out there in the woods. Serene. Good work!
2.43 to 3.17 - You and the dogs look so cozy & warm! I'm envious :)
Nice camping, good truck and tent, excellent cooking and two good camping buddies! Good job!
Thank you I am really glad you enjoyed the video, it was nice little trip.
Jason
Holy crap. This is video is almost as relaxing as my AM yoga. Great job.
Thank you! I've got the next few days off and I've been waffling about going camping or not. You reminded me that its always better to go!!!
This old lady just subscribed! I'm 60 now and if I didn't have such a horrible back I would take off! Enjoy your life and health and God Bless your journey.......Cathy Wv

Outdoor food is always the best tasting food!
Really like the simplicity of the video and not hyper expensive gear to go enjoy the woods. Well done bud
Can't wait to do this when I'm growing up

Great tent, off the cold ground! Made me feel really hungry! Good video thanks for sharing.
It is nice being off the ground and I didn't have to clear a spot to set the tent either which is nice, thank you for watching and for commenting.

Nice 👍 over night video doggies looking like they really dig the new tent I have a larger TEPUI rooftop tent and I love it plenty of room
I really liked your book reading in this video .

How do your canine companions get into the tent?

Thank you, with that Mr Heater in there it is warmer than my house, lol. Thanks for the comment.

subbed , great job on the few videos I've watched.

Primal Outdoors it's your channel my friend , do as you wish , either way , I will tune in.
Happy New Year !!
Cool video bro. Different than most I've seen from others. Shows a look at actually camping in a roof top tent . Look forward to more.
Cool video, awesome weather!
Really nice work on this video! Drone shots were cool and that breakfast looked dank.
Dankeroni and cheese
Good on ya, man! Love your setup, and that you took your dogs with you. Keep it up!
I am glad you liked, I try to take the dogs as much as possible, they enjoy it and I enjoy the company. Thanks so much for watching.

Awesome video! I'm really looking forward to picking our Mt Rainier up in June!
Thank you I am glad you liked it. The Mt Rainier will be great I think you will really enjoy the extra size I sometime wish I had that one.
