oculus support didnt help me but you did.. after a month of trying and trying nothing seemed to work i even tried manual adb commands to update which failed as well.. but you didnt fail me.. after plugging my headset for almost 17 hours with the battery completely dead/drained at start i came back from work and the greenlight was lit.. the headset did self reset i didnt reset it.. ive done 2 updates and so far it works like a charm.. you are the best..

Okay thanks for your answer. I have a mother issue but also with restarts. After 1-5 minutes after I start my oculus it restarts all the time and came back to the point where I was after that, but I cannot press any button, because it’s restart itself all the time. Ive done Factory reset and all that stuff.. it’s my first day with my Quest 2 and I was not able to play any game 😒

I'm having this problem right now, i left my oculus quest 2 for 12 hours and it ran out of battery but before i got the problem i had charged my oculus for 1 and a half days i think. Do i just need to leave the oculus quest 2 on the charger and let it stay on or how?
No keep it off if you let the headset die the loading screen will go off then charge it again then try turning it on if it doesn’t work soryy

Thank you so much for posting this, it worked perfectly, my Quest 2 finally made it to the home screen after I watched your video, while I was reading the comments below. This behavior started right after I finally got the "Metaverse" update (blue infinity loop instead of white oblong circle). I was out of town and also went camping, that's why I only now received the Facebook logo metaverse update. AWSOME WORK 😀

@@Fwthechicken Exactly what the guy suggested in the original video said to do. What it comes down to is the Metaverse (Face Book) update, where the Oculus Logo (a white horizontal oval) changes to the Facebook Metaverse Logo (a blue infinity loop logo) when you first turn on your Quest 2 takes a VERY long time to install with absolutely NO indication that your Oculus Quest is doing anything. I just left my Quest on and set it on my desk and waited about 15 minutes. Then my Quest 2 was fine. I hope this helps 😀

The Blue light just means that controllers are connecting
you started talking about copying folders and i connected it, wanted to acces it... and my headset just started working :D thx for advice btw.
After updating I got the circle of death for hours. When I checked it again it was a red battery, I charged it, it made the noise like it was turning on, I got a 2 second shot of the guardian circle and my screen went black and then nothing. I've only had it a month, have never spent this kind of money on a game for myself and now I'm just nervous that I got ripped off. Anyone with helpful suggestions, I would greatly appreciate your help.
it must be still under warranty , so the unit is covered unless you bounced it of a wall.

hey i have a problem im wondering if u can fix it, im using my brothers vr + account, and when i turn on his oculus it shows the logo of oculus, then goes to a screen with a upside down folder with a arrow thats upside with 3 dots on the bottom and the right and left, got any idea how i can fix it? i even tried turning back on then off but doesnt work, it loops im trying everything but nothing works so can u help?

Bro! Thank You! I went through the same motions as you, however when I searched, your video popped up. I listened to you even though it took over 20 min. But just as you said it ended up resetting itself and was fine. They really do a horrible job of letting folks know that the system is updating

@@urmom9275 yup sure is and the thing will turn back on when its done. Has happened to me several times. The first time it happened i factory reset it thinking I had done something. But after seeing this video I followed the advice to just leave it alone and wait, its came back on updated each time. The do a bad job of letting us know what is happening with the headset
Also check to see if your controllers need firmware updates. That's what did it for me.

I have had this exact problem just the light was not blue it was still white it was on about 90% when I tried to turn it on and while it was booting up I plugged an external battery into the headset and it would just stay on the booting screen, when I tried to see the boot menu it would just bring up a picture of an "android' with a little plate opened in its chest and it said "no command"?

Brilliant video. Mine froze and I reset, saw downloading screen followed by a pulsating oculus logo. Followed your guide. Left for two hours whilst oculus logo pulsating and next to wifi. Nothing.
Put on charge, Reset again, saw the same as above and heard a crackling noise in speaker and left overnight. Still the same as above - so did a factory reset, all the above happened and now it’s stuck on pulsating logo screen. Have submitted a ticket but have to wait up to 2 days 😪. Any help or advice?

Unfortunately after it completed it showed the download icon again (which completes in green every time) then to pulsating logo.
My total transfer was : 1.00x where I see yours is : 2.00x - I followed procedure again but again mine is only 1.
(Bare in mind I was playing a game when I was thrown into this loop) now I’m getting worried 😟

@@LaBaiaDiBen update: as I ordered from Amazon. I had until 28/2 to return for a refund. Seeing all the negative reports ref support I decided to return it and order a new one. The New one was delivered and set up the day after and I’m playing my heart out once again 😍

When you factory reset you are prompted to pull once again pull out the new tag that was placed in the system thus this is impossible as it is a one time use pull cord they sent in the system.. so how did you get passed that?
My headset keeps on turning on then turning off and I can’t power off it and it is fully charged and I did wait for about idk 30 minutes but it still does the same thing so do you know any way to fix it

Holy cow, it actually worked.
My issue was even worse than you described: On boot my quest 2 prompted me "ShellEnv keeps stopping", before restarting again. I guess that ShellEnv is the main menu area.
Now that it works again I can see that the main menu has changed since before the issue. Therefore I think that an automatic update broke the system. Auto updates FTW...
I wonder why support so often resorts to factory reset when this method seems to be working for almost 2 years now.

Thanks a lot. The same thing happened to my quest 2. It was on firmware v34 before. After leaving the headset alone for 20 min, it automatically turned itself on, but no sound (even in game). A simple reset after that brought it back to normal.
Sometimes you just have to be patient.

@@keastyboii6105 if it still does not work put your finger over they face sensor in the headset for around 20 seconds then let it rest for a couple seconds then put it on that's what I did and it worked
the light that that is stuck on mine looks white not blue ... do you think this is another problem.. ust hit up support for a ticket...

This has been happening with me for 14 hours. Left it on overnight and nothing. This isn’t the first time I’ve had problems with oc2. Shoulda got one that was made by oculus themselves.

hey world.... quest 1 256GB, my set is stuck on logo screen , no dots.... the light on the outside is white. it won't even turn off..... i have to let it power down (3 hours), then turn on and same thing. i do have access to the reset menu, but don't want to loose my game progress.. I hate this new cloud update they are doing. Before that, i had no problems... did they just make quest a device that we need to backup..... OMG>... i'm telling everyone to back up their data now. any solutions?
I have similar problem, i left it untouch for 2 hours and it finally started... But im stuck with oculus logo on background, i cant restart or factory reset, every time i try it, the headset will come to the booting loop again... So i was playing even with that annoying logo on background and after week the screen start to crash... From several lines to the point its unplayeble, i wrote a ticket to support... The biggest problem is that i get this quest from belgium and im from slovakia so im really looking forward what will happen... Wish me luck guys
@@LaBaiaDiBen basically after 1 week chat oculus comes with solution :D even when i bought it from belgium the quest have code from switzerland so the only option from them is that i must give them switzerland adress :D love oculus support... i hope i can manage something else becouse this feel extremely stupid in Europe... i cant deliver it even in Germany

Hey there, I've got a quest 2 I've had for a few years now with a similar but different issue, and hadn't used it since prob early last year as I just used it for PC VR games via Airlink so it just sat in a dark corner of my room, and when I tried using it this week it wouldn't turn on at all so the battery was flat, went to plug it in and it doesn't light up the LED, but every 5 sec or so flashes the oculus logo in the screen for like half a second consistently until I unplug it.
When unplugging it, it stops bootlooping, but still won't turn on. I could never get into the recovery menu at all during this either to reset it. And I've also tried using different USB c chargers and cables throughout my house as some forum posts suggests the 10w wall adapter one it comes with might be underpowered... Got any suggestions?
I Always suggest to use Wall adapters with the same speciphics of the original One. Try one

My oculus deleted all my games and nothing was loading. It all started when I put my oculus charger into my pc and in the charging system while trying to charge it

so , i've got a new oculus quest 2 and the screen freezed while i was in a game and then got black and couldn't see anything. i tried to shut it down but nope. of course , the sound of the game was still on when i powered the vr on again. But now i can only hear a sound that makes every electronic when it's open and working. but no light can be seen even when i try to press the start button , what should i do?

Did not work for me. What worked was a factory reset, but given I was starting with a blank device it was an easy choice that did not require using a PC/transfering files. In my case I suspect the never ending load screen was due to the lack of internet connection (apparently the device disconnected during setup). Once I did the factory reset and re-enter the wifi info everything was working fine. Onboarding on the first generation Quest was much smoother. My advice is "religiously" follow the instructions. Have fun!

When ur factory resetting make sure u games are on quest app. Your deleting your headset data not your account so just make sure to have the phone with all your games then connect the account to the FR quest and that’s all that u have to do.

Does boot device log you out of your account and make you log back into your account or does it just already have you signed into your account

My oculus q2 stucks in endless loop. Then i try to reboot and factory reset it still stuck in endless loop. After i look at your video i try to do sidequest update. Then after finish sidequest updateV31. My oculus screen go to boot screen and stuck in booting loop for 5 minute then the screen shows 3 dots at center of screen. Then the screen come to black screen. Now i try to turn it on but my oculus screen still shows black screen.
