I think they just want you to buy a new one for your kid that is very upset and Xmas is right around the corner….. If the factory reset didn’t work then they would have to warranty the product so of course it does! How many other are near Xmas when this happens?? 😢 Edit: seems common, a factory reset fixed mine. No you have to hold the power of button and - volume button for 10 or 15 seconds and move with the plus button and select with the off button and press power of and charge for 24 hour!s hopefully that answers your question
My problem is: I can press power and volume down until I get the sub-menu. I select "Power-Off" and the unit shuts off successfully. As soon as I connect a charger, it automatically turns itself back on to the same meta logo and resumes the boot-loop. If I hold power and volume down and select "Power Off" with a charger already plugged in, It will act like it shut off and then within 3 seconds, it brings up the blue Meta logo again and resumes the boot loop. If I let it just sit with the charger in and let it just try to correct itself, the headset gets warmer and I don't think that is a good thing either. WTF. This is my second Headset. This can't just be headset after headset just malfunctioning can it?? I see so many complaints over this issue. I must be doing something wrong, or the thing is updating or something but I have no idea how to tell and I find a boot-loop a strange way for it to attempt an update. Same I am fucking done with this company, you have billions of dollars but no quality control I’ve had to get 4 new controllers and a replacement headset for them to just breach not even a month after receiving them.
@@Jxsey I didn’t. I had a protection plan from Wal-Mart on the last one so I returned it for a new one. This is now my 3rd! headset. I’ll let you know how this one goes. I’ve had the same problems, i did “everything” i could to make it stop, but all i see is this hypnotizing meta logo glowing for hours and hours without stopping… Shutting it down completely , reset factoring it… you named it, none of them worked for me. I’ve tried to link it with my phone but since it’s stuck in the “boot up” never ending loop, it can’t be connected to the internet/wifi so it’s basically useless. My headset has been turning on and off for the past 2 hours and the volume and power button menu pops up but when I let go it just disappears even when it's completely dead it's trying to turn itself on
Thank you SOOO MUCH btw I think this is the most common reason for boot loop it's because if you reset your head set while it's about to die it will cause a boot loop tell me if I'm not right
Good guess but actually for most people it's because their hard drive is completely full and there's no room for the random access memory to access the startup processes. It's a dumb problem that should have a failsafe like extra storage that you can't touch.

You don’t have to factory reset and lose all your progress. If you have the oculus app and sign in there all your progress is on the oculus app and when you restart it, you can sign in in your progress is there

I cant even get the boot menu to show up. Its just flashing the boot logo if its plugged in. Or its completely dead and wont do anything if its not plugged in. left it charging overnight too. I have a super strong charging block USB C too, doesnt help.
My solution was to contact oculus support and following all their instructions. They sent me a new quest, even though i was out of warranty. They know this is an issue. Contact support, they have live chat
I did a factory reset but had all games and cosmetics saved in the Meta app on the phone 🎉 and it worked i didn’t lose anything. Just “reset “ then connect a new headset (even though it’s the same) to the Meta app . Thank goodness 😂
Hey guys I just had the meta logo constantly shutting down and restarting until it drained nothing fixed it until I plugged it in to my laptop went to the oculus folder in my laptop so this path (Oculus > support > oculus-diagnostics > ETW > install) double click while your headset is connected then reboot after it finishes. It reset mine and I finally can use it again! I hope this helps someone! Good luck guys

You asked offer other solutions, and I have one: I tried the black menu power off and didn't work and did not want to factory reset. So, I think this problem is because there is JUST enough battery power left to start a reboot, but then the recharge is too slow to keep headset powered during boot so then powers off, waits a few minutes for enough power then repeat. So what I did was leave the headset for a day unplugged so the battery is even more drained, then plug it into the highest ampere rated charger you have, often they are 2 or 3A and I switched from 2 to 3, and seriously, it was enough, I left the headset a day and it wasn't recycling and then it got to 100% and fully rebooted.
When i enter the boot menu, it just shows the no command screen Edit: I realized I was holding down the + and power buttons and not the - and power buttons. Letting it sideload an update and seeing if that helps with my boot loop Edit 2: Still on the boot loop. Might factory reset :( Edit 3. New oculus coming tomorrow :)
If anyone wants to contact me I feel i have the solution to this problem. It’s a more powerful charger. The minute I switched to a higher wattage charger it started up right away. Before I would always charge the headset fully after using and then i would remove the charger and let the headset sit there until I wanted to use it again. That is a bad idea because the power is constantly draining even if the headset is powered off. There is a slow residual power draw from the headset even when powered off. The result is a dead headset. I would try to boot up but the amount of power being provided by the stock charger wasn’t enough to get me past the Meta Logo because the headset was trying to do it with like .001 hertz of power. Enough to bring up the Meta logo, but not enough to bring up start up. Hence the illusion of a boot-loop. The second I connected it to a more powerful charger it powered up immediately with no issues. I was on my 3rd headset! It’s not broken, it’s just poor design. Hit me up if you dont know what charger to buy. I haven’t had an issue since. There’s hope! The stock power brick and USB-C is trash, shame on Meta

For some reason, while playing VRchat, my quest 2 made a popping noise and died. It wasnt even low battery. It just crashed. Is this a problem, and is it easy enough to fix at home?
There is a setting on the mobile app that is save data and it will save your data. Some games won’t save the data, but only one for me did that. NOTICE: THIS WILL ONLY WORK ON THE OWNER ACCOUNT IF TURNED ON IN THE ACCOUNT. But I just say that with my experience.
You should warn people that if one of your controllers is broken or both of them and perhaps you're using hands-free mode then you should not factory reset your device. You cannot get past the setup menu without both controllers working. Thanks for this video my quest two is stuck at the setup screen because my left controller is broken.

Didn’t work :( because when my thing turns on it shows the meta logo then loads and it says smth about app info and something else but I can’t read it because it shows it not even for a second it’s like really quick then it would just restart and the process is forever until I turn it off. :(
I think I have a different problem. When I turn my headset on, the meta logo pops up, and then it starts to update, and when the update finished, it shuts down for 4-5 hours, and wont turn on.

I don't know whey there are so many issues with the Quest 2. I have 5 other headsets and did not have this many problems although the GO did have overheating issues. My issue is wih the battery light and now the boot loop problem. Step 2 didn't work for me so I am waiting for the 24 hours process now. If I have to factory reset how do I know this won't happen again?
I could not get mine out of the endless loop even after a factory reset. Once I attached the Elite Battery it started looping again. I have had nothing but problems since I bought mine after the very first software update.

There is a setting on the mobile app that is save data and it will save your data. Some games won’t save the data, but only one for me did that. NOTICE: THIS WILL ONLY WORK ON THE OWNER ACCOUNT IF TURNED ON IN THE ACCOUNT. But I just say that with my experience.

You should warn people that if one of your controllers is broken or both of them and perhaps you're using hands-free mode then you should not factory reset your device. You cannot get past the setup menu without both controllers working. Thanks for this video my quest two is stuck at the setup screen because my left controller is broken.

None of them worked for me, and I don’t wanna factory reset because I’m too scared to lose cosmetics and stuff on Gorilla tag and progress on games. And it’s worse because my “glasses” so I can see while playing on the oculus are gonna be here today/tomorrow :(

Didn’t work :( because when my thing turns on it shows the meta logo then loads and it says smth about app info and something else but I can’t read it because it shows it not even for a second it’s like really quick then it would just restart and the process is forever until I turn it off. :(
I think I have a different problem. When I turn my headset on, the meta logo pops up, and then it starts to update, and when the update finished, it shuts down for 4-5 hours, and wont turn on.

I don't know whey there are so many issues with the Quest 2. I have 5 other headsets and did not have this many problems although the GO did have overheating issues. My issue is wih the battery light and now the boot loop problem. Step 2 didn't work for me so I am waiting for the 24 hours process now. If I have to factory reset how do I know this won't happen again?
I could not get mine out of the endless loop even after a factory reset. Once I attached the Elite Battery it started looping again. I have had nothing but problems since I bought mine after the very first software update.
