Fun and enjoyable episode! I was in a multiline (Rolex, Patek, Omega, Cartier, etc.) AD last week to get warranty service on a watch, then I tried on watches for 2 hours. No other customers in the AD the entire time I was there. I overheard two employees discussing that their luxury watch business is dead. This AD was jammed with customers every time I visited in 2021 & 2022. I think pre-owned prices still have lots of room to fall as demand is down in the U.S. Cheers!
2009 I got 10% off dj2 Roman dial flutted, wedding gift…. 2017 I waited 2 weeks for Batman, medical degree gift… bought 4 Rolex (sports ss models) past 5 years from AD… during Covid definitely harder… once the flippers leave the market entirely, we’ll go back to normal… seems to be heading that way… but I agree, if you love the watch and it’s sentimental value for the current time, then buy secondary market from reputable dealer.
This was a great discussion -- interesting, informative, varied, and more. Thank you for taking the time to film and then post it, and thank you for sharing your breadth of knowledge and gut senses, too. Please keep this kind of content coming!
Hi guys, love your channel. I wanted a Batman or a Skydweller blue dial from my AD. I got the Batman after 18months which was perfect, as it gave me time to save up 😂. Hopefully the Skydweller will come in another year or so. I was never asked to buy other items to bump me up the “list”. Great AD experience.
Thanks for the video! How hard is it to sell watches to clients in other countries? What are the obstacles (if any), the concerns, the benefits? Take care!
I love watching and listening to your videos positive, genuine, honest information wishing you all a healthy, positive, productive, abundant week & year ahead best wishes
Hi lads, I absolutely love your channel! I missed the timeframe to send in a question but if you get a chance. I have a Rolex sea dweller bought from AD in 2016. I have a GMT rootbeer bought from same AD 2023. I have my name down for a Rolex 41mm OP Celebration dial. Question is, do you think I will get the call? Do you think the grey market will ever come down a little? Cheers. John
I remember in 2016 my AD having 2 SD4k in the window and was offered one with a discount but declined it. Have been kicking myself for the past few years now.
Damn. SD4k is a future classic! Only 6 for sale within UK. I'd say prices should climb within next year on this model as more people seem to becoming aware of the rarity.
Great episode.... just wondering if you could advise what would be a fair price for a newish, unworn Rolex GMT bracelet on today's UK market? Many thanks
@@Watchtrader I sent it to Rolex for a service 2 year ago and £1050 lighter but came back perfect so was pleased overall. I’ve been a collector for many years and still have all my watches

SK Blue dial and Sprite (Oys or JuB) is a loss for a Panda swap. But.....to each their own, I cant even get AD to call me and have been waiting, so I understand. Enjoy your timepiece 🙂
Every bit of advice given, you can see the eyes spinning thinking, what side of the line are we on here. Look at the John Mayer topic. Basically the purchasing guy on the left, didn't want to say that the market is soft, and will drop.
Being told to wait and wait and wait 5 years for a watch that trades on the grey for 1-2K over retail on the grey market is dumb AF. Gotta watch the authenticity, but people are done with the AD games. Hope those days of having to buy watches you don't want, jewlery for the wife, etc are over with.
Will you be able to walk in a buy a Rolex on the spot? “No probably not” Hey my ad just offered me this watch, should I buy it? No, that’s selling for less than retail. 😂😂😂 typical gray market dealers hanging on for dear life.
@@Watchtrader I mean your statements are slightly contradictory. Watch market is down and there are plenty of Rolex models to go around. My prediction with the increase in production, you will likely be able to buy most Rolex models on a walk in. Dealers are running out of room in safes. Sure some big cities will have less inventory because they have larger pools of buyers but overall Rolex increased production by 30%. That will eventually take a hold on the market in another 6-12 months. I remember walking into Rolex in 2014 and you had your pick of pretty much anything you wanted, I even remember the salesman telling me to buy a breitling! As they were better watches! How the tables have turned🤣🤣

The landscape has changed a lot over the last few years. However, many luxury brands seem to be sticking with their sales scarcity strategy

The Tudor Ranger in my opinion is a perfect daily watch. The T clasp is just so useful. What’s the price new from you guys.
The price on their homepage is quite reasonable.
We have a 2023 Ranger available for just over £2k
Agreed its a great watch

What Patek aquanaut model watch is Stuart wearing in this video?
Great vid guys!
According to the new Submariner book there were only 27,000 of the 116600’s ever made 😮
Interesting, thanks for sharing that
Great video guys 👍👍
Tudor pelagos Lhd I have one and being titanium is really light, (my dj41 is heavier) so that would be my choice for a £2-3k watch
Fair choice, thanks for sharing
Love these type of video, I know you can't do these every week, but really enjoyable
Thanks for letting us know
What is your opinion of the future collectability of the DD Gibeon meteor dial in white gold, 228239?

Good choice, some great value to be found in pre-owned Omega

Stuart’s watch is gorgeous. PP LUCE
116600 SD4k - rare within uk. I suspect this piece will increase in price over the years. More and more chatter around this piece I keep seeing.
If you buy for 10.2 today, and wait 2.5 year, probably the retail will be 10.2 by then…
The Greek warrior could go for Panerai Submersible 😎👌🏻
Good suggestion
Great video. Would you pick a sub no date or date and why
Date is slightly more useful. No date has pleasing symmetry. Depends what is important to you.
No such thing as a sub no date.
