Here's a vocal technique I've been hearing everywhere in 2023 used by Fred Again, Skrillex & BICEP just to name a few.

Is there a way to ask you a question on how to do something I found in a song I want to replicate? I'm not sure if you've got UA-cam setup to delete comments or if you allow all comments?
Hey, thanks for using my vocal sample! ◡̈
This sounds really cool!!
Fam!!! 💙 @LINNEYofficial
i’ve literally made like 10 beats w your voice dude thanks for what you do
Got introduced to you through your new track with Au5, "Bridges". Amazing voice you have! Keep it up!
Aw wow thank you so much! Glad you like "bridges"@@siddi47
ahhh! I love that! glad I could assist with the creativity! ♥send me links x@@hunterhawkins8754
temposync tremolo with a custom shape basically. seems like trance is making a come back :)
Been using this with my music for ages. I make electro but miss trance vocals
Definitely, midi triggered gating does allow more precise control over the rhythm and swing than a typical tremolo though
@@SynthHackerTV I need this knowledge. If you come to Dallas I got us on steaks just for how solid you been with putting out content for the past few years. Your knowledge is greatly appreciated.
What about compared to a plugin like Tremolator from Soundoys?
@@thelouisbisson sure
Tremolo/gated vocals were popular in mid to late 90s aswell. At least here in europe. I guess it came from trance and then spread into mainstream eurodisco.
See this is the tutorials i fucking love. short, simple, straight to the point. I hate having to hear the persons whole backstory on how they were born and got into music and how as a kid they heard this sound and they took 15 years to find how to make it, then the last 2 mins of the 30min video is the actual tutorial.
you are always top notch with your videos but this is incredible! true master of your craft, mad respect :)
Thanks for the kind words! :)
Unreal simplistic demonstration mate! Well done 👏🏻
Great video!
Brilliant Video
Always love your videos. Quality uploads every time.
Appreciate it thanks for watching!
This is a great vid dude thanks so much!
Love It!!❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
FL users can do this by putting peak controller on the mixer track of the rhythm source and linking the volume of your coval mixer track to be controlled by the peak controller.
Amazing! will use this technique for sure! Loved how you used serum just for the dimension effect that wild hahaha
WOW this is a crazy nice technique! I’m also a sound designer, but never thought of this. Thanks for that, much love from Germany 🤍
Appreciate it!
amazing. i used to do this by hand years ago with the ableton clip view envelopes and this is such a nicer and easier way to go.
Excellent video mate, thanks for the eye opening session
Super slick sound!!!
Really dope video man
Awesome trick, thanks 😎
awesome! thanks a lot!
Amazingggg!
awesome!
thank you very much for showing this technique, i'm now gonna utilize it in my tracks, it's mental1!!
Nice touch!
Excellent
very cool. Thank you
I was thinking about looking this effect up for some days and now it just poppep up in my for you page. Thanks mate!
Glad I can help! :)
Bloody great video
This is sick!! I have an entire playlist where all the tracks do this. Thanks for showing us how it’s done!
Drop the link
Hear this "genre" is called Stutter house these days
That was an awesome video, and I never comment on such videos. Thank you so much 😊
Appreciate that! :)
Great Video. Straight to the point :)
thanks man great video
im apparently already subscribed to you but im hitting the bell now! This is one of the best producer-tip videos I have seen ever. Much love from Oregon! :)
Appreciate it! :)
Thank you!
Love this thanks! 🙂
This is sick! Def giving this a try. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed! :)
Your videos are so useful, I’m begging you to continue making content!
Glad to hear it!
Word
This isSOOOO SICKKKK
formant trick is so sick, thanks for this vid
Glad you found it helpful! Thanks for watching
you don't drop content "consistently" based on the standards of super aggressive content marketing techniques from nowadays, but when you do... it's high quality 🔥
Awesome thanks 👍
Thanks for watching!
Subscribed, just from this video. Gonna make a track using this technique!
Nice one dude 👌🏽
Welcome :) Happy producing!
Thanks .
doode, first off, many thanks. top vid. But i'm not understanding the Noise Trigger Setup part. where do i find the plugin you're using in the video?
same just very bad explained
0:37 - I use it and highly recommend for stripping out vocals from a song.
great hack!!
sick this
Thanks a lot! I've been trying to figure it out myself but I used sidechaining instead of a gate and it didn't work like I wanted to haha. Great tutorial btw. Not too long and nice edits 🫡
Glad it helped, thanks for the kind words! :)
Love pluko! So cool hearing his music in a different context. Definitely going to try using the AI stem tool as a learning tool to recreate some of his tracks.
It's such a game changer for analyzing tracks for sure!
Pluko got me into dis
Hurray 🎉🎉
🎉
Need the full track🔥🔥🔥
Kilohearts trance Gate is a quick and simple way to achieve this effect
true but it's kinda hard to add variations
Gated vocals. Back to the 90s
I heard this and similar in Trance music 15-20 years ago
bruh. this was g o o d
3:32 i was like why does it sounds so much pluko damn man thanks for clearing that out
This is the sauce
i mean this is just what you do when making a synth patch and if you have custom LFO shapes like on the minifreak. i can make a rhythmic unique pattern with no sequencing or arps, just using the lfo to act as a sort of looping gate pattern
Nice
Nice
Love this! Any chance you could do some UK Garage? Perhaps Sammy Virji or Interplanetary Criminal? Thanks
hey this is dripment, do you do any lessons showing how you edit your videos like this?? i wanna learn 😊💧🐬
Opened up a sub genre called stutter house, its very good
Its basically old skool Trance sauce.
Awesome video. Great technique!
I use the Infected Mushroom Plugin Bundle (Gatekeeper + Manipulator) to achieve a similar result. Less work and a bit faster in my workflow. :)
I knew I heard that Pluko bass 😄
Hang on, how did you add serum further down in the effects chain?
this guy knows wtf is up!!!
you do get a more smooth swingy grove using a gate this way instead the good old trance gates of old goa trance etc.. yes... "new way" to do "old things".. i like it that psytrance stuff is getting more mainstream
like putting kites on a cargo ship to reduce cargon emissions
Trance gate
have you tryed ripx for vocals
Wow amazing. Can you do this in logic ? Can I pay you to teach ? thank you :)
That’s sweet! Feel free to reach out.
Popular effect in trance of 2000-2005
What Key Command did you use to swap the audio clips in real time @ 1:44 ?
Is there a way to do this on fl studio and are there tutorials?
Any ideas how to do similar stuff on Fl Studio? Blessings for help :)
Also... let's not exclude classic step sequencer type filters as a method for achieving this technique. Although they're not generally triggered by midi, they are usually major tone enhancers and work with envelopes in a very analogue and musical way. Arturia's SEM Filter is a beast as is the Oberheim. Some of my fav plug emulations from them
I ask, how to 'birds in the sky' -Newera vocal parts
Kilohesrts actually has a trance filter
How would I go about doing this in FL?
Awesome, thanks. I bought Rip X for vocal separation but it was inconsistent and contained loads of artefacts. Been playing around with Lala and it seems much better... and if you are naughty then you don't really need to pay for it. Great video, gonna try this technique on my new track.
For this on steroids see “Stutter Edit” by BT 🤙🏽🖤🕺😎
hi tom! how do we access the packs if we already bought the course some time ago?
There’s a link at the top of the course called ‘Free Downloads’
@@SynthHackerTV i see it now! thanks tom
Can I listen to this song anywhere?
Hey can I know if I use some AI samplers that can I still release my music on some platforms? Thxxxxxx
how can you replicate this in fl studio ? midi is so flexible i know it's possible with any lfo tools but to add variations midi is so good
If you're comfortable using Fruity's Peak Controller, you could write a long midi pattern (or several short ones) that are played silently, but that control the volume of the vocal track. The technique is very similar to sidechain volume ducking the bass with a compressor, but you use a customized MIDI pattern instead of the 4/4 kick drum to do the ducking. If I wasn't in the mood to do automation with Peak Controller (it can get complicated) I'd probably just make multiple variations of the chop patterns with Kilohearts trancegate and then render and recombine them as WAVs though.
Well, if you can already hear it in 2023, it’s probably time not to stop doing it.
Can you do us a favor and show us what Pluggins you have for this entire thing. Like exact names pleaseeeeeeee
A lot of the stems were from a Pluko track and mostly stock plugins used but third party plugins I used were:
DS-10
Fabfilter Pro-Q3
SerumFX
LittleAlterBoy
Skaka
Kontakt (Choreographs)
Gulfoss
ValhallaPlate
ValhallaSupermassive
That's everything, I wouldn't read into the plugins too much though and don't feel like you need them!
Can I do it this easy in FL Studio?
I would mute the white noise tho so its only a trigger
Simon Posford was using this technique in 1995.
Would love a technique that could be used in FL studio. Love how ableton has so many unique things that can be done.
Maybe with slicex
There are a ton of ways to do gated chops in FL Studio. The method I'd probably use would be to program a midi rhythm that gets fed into Peak Controller and then use the output of that to automate the volume of the vocals. There are plenty of free "trancegate" plugins that make it even easier.
Could probably use some presets in Gross beat
I think you can do this efect even simpler by using Lfo Tool in midi trigger mode so there will be no need for additional channels and noises.
Does anyone know how you could replicate this on logic?
Anyone with an idea how to replicate the noise trigger sidechain technique in FL studio?
also tryna figure this out
It's too complicated to explain it all in a comment here, but Fruity's Peak Controller is one of the many tools you can you use for sidechain volume ducking with FLS. It's the "LFO tool" that most FLS user don't even know they own.
got it - get a white noise sample and make a midi pattern and then add a fruity peak controller to that channel
on the vocal sample channel add a fruity balance and right-click volume - link to controller - link to the peak controller you just added
@@alakazamaudio Yep, that should do it. You can do all kinds of clever stuff with peak controller once you've worked out how to do the routing.
Hey Synth Hacker
you Course is still active right?
Kind regards
Of course! Currently recording some new content to be added soon!
@@SynthHackerTV AWESOME
so you are using gate not auto pan non ?
This might be a lot to ask but I'm trying to figure out how to do it on Logic :/ Anyone knows how?
love this trick. any advice on how to achieve this using logic pro x?
