Hi for marking I did used tailor chalk and for sewing I have used fax paper to make it smooth run, but if you have foot with ball underneath which we use for net fabric. That's more best, this tip i have show for those who have simple sewing machine yet they can run fabric smoothly. I hope this help.

Can you share what is that clear grid marking thing you use for chalking your hem?

Absolutely if you have matching fabric or even net laces also work, like I have on my sleeves I'm wearing in video to increase sleeves length.

I would have overlocked the edge and sew the hem with a twin needle. Different way 😊
