Stryder made his own big post largely debooking her claims and making it pretty clear (imo) she's a big liar. tl;dr - bpd ex flinging shit on socials over a mediocre relationship from half a decade ago. I hope Stryder sues her for defamation.
Your love for Paper Mario is so infectious, and it comes out completely in this video. There's really no point of absolute silence so its a video of a sick speedrun, of an amazing game, perfectly commentated. Absolutely perfect.

honestly I enjoy glitchless better than glitched or any% because it means we get to see more of the game. Plus personally I find glitchless runs to be a better metric of a player's skill to adapt to a bad situation on the fly rather than just being able to execute a glitch from muscle memory to skip large chunks of the game.
My family is full of smart a**es, and i did this enough times when i was younger, choosing videos that were 30+mins long, that my mom had to add "a reasonable Length" or add a cap, like " 1 ten minute video before bed"
This was incredibly entertaining to watch. You not only explained the strategies used in the run, but also gave some thoughts on the story, explained your mistakes and even gave info on some glitches. Overall a very good video.
Okay, 2 things - one: this is my fave speed run video. I know it’s very old but I think Stryder does such a great job at commentary. Really informative. Also i appreciate that it’s done for the UA-cam viewer, unlike most speed run commentary that is done for live-streams or live audiences. This is such a rare find and it really makes a difference in my opinion. And two - I think it’s so funny that Stryder hates that Peach cake segment. I remember as a kid my sister and I loved that Peach cutscene, and we would mess up the cake on purpose sometimes just for laughs. Lol good times
You know a video is great, if you were able to watch all 4 hours of it and injoy every part of it maybe its because Paper mario is such a great game. I absolutely loved this video.

+Stryder7x DUDE! I discovered a glitch by mistake! I somehow made Goombario fly at the beginning of the game! Worst of all, I meant to have this run be a glitchless run! I think I made Goombario fly after I put on the Hammer Throw badge.
+Stryder7x Yes, when I obtained Hammer Throw. (For some reason I didn't know how to spell Prologue). I'm no Paper Mario Glitcher, so I recommend trying it yourself and try to figure it out. Also, I was using the US Wii U version. So I recommend trying it on the US Wii U to test it. But you can also try the Japanese Wii U version.
I think it has something to do with opening a Treasure Chest at a certain time after hitting a spring. Partners get kind of frozen in midair. I've not been able to replicate the glitch on my own, but I've seen people do it with other treasure chests.

Super informative in addition to being entertaining - Even though I've played this game multiple times and even started a playthrough on my UA-cam channel, I still found plenty of time-saving tips and tricks on this that I'll use for casual gameplay moving forward.
+Stryder7x I do have a theory of my own. Goombario didn't hop on the spring, and when I landed, Goombario jumped, so I think I paused the game while Goombario was in midair, I don't think the badge has anything to do with the glitch. And no, his animations had not been glitched, I actually don't know if he is even flying, cause when I standed still, Goombario used his idle animation, but when I walk, Goombario uses one of his falling/jumping sprites.
This is still a really impressive run, and you definitely deserved that WR. I remember how long the commentary took you, it really showed how much you care. Great job, now you just need to get All Cards WR :P
This has really made me wanna replay this game. It was such a big part of my childhood, and I love it _very_ much, (gonna have to get back into it soon!) Congratulations on your amazing run. I enjoyed the commentary throughout as it gave me something interesting to listen to even at times when my eyes were off the screen. It was also great to hear some of these old tunes which you so meticulously dubbed into the video. I'm glad speed running has given you something to do, and hey, if you ever run out of ways to challenge yourself with this game, (though a glance at your uploads suggests that won't happen anytime soon,) there's always The Thousand-Year Door to turn to! (Just a joke, of course! But still, it _is_ on the table...)

I don't regularly watch speed runs, but was feeling a bit nostalgic about this game. Great commentary, was a fun and interesting watch. thinking of doing a casual playthrough now.
The reason the boat lands in the airship docks and doesn't go up to peach's castle itself is because of parking laws. If he leaves it up top, it'll be hauled away by the sky police, mario would have to pay a huge fine to get it back, and it would be a huge infraction on the star spirit's insurance record causing their premiums to sky rocket. Just because the princess is in trouble doesn't mean it's time to be reckless, gosh.

I think it'd be cool to try speedrunning a game, but I have a learning disability that impairs my fine motor skills and essentially makes quick, precise inputs almost impossible. It's also why I don't play many fighting games outside of Smash.

BEEELEEE A little late, but if you're interested you could try playing some lesser known TBS games with less emphasis on movement and be competitive. Possibly some RTS's where you can be a little less precise? Some ideas, but not knowing your tastes I can only recommend so much.

And no, his animations had not been glitched, I actually don't know if he is even flying, cause when I standed still, Goombario used his idle animation, but when I walk, Goombario uses one of his falling/jumping sprites.
I'll have to try messing with it sometime so we can figure out what's happening. Thanks for the info!

Hearing the voice from Stryder of 2014 shocked me.
This has really made me wanna replay this game. It was such a big part of my childhood, and I love it _very_ much, (gonna have to get back into it soon!) Congratulations on your amazing run. I enjoyed the commentary throughout as it gave me something interesting to listen to even at times when my eyes were off the screen. It was also great to hear some of these old tunes which you so meticulously dubbed into the video. I'm glad speed running has given you something to do, and hey, if you ever run out of ways to challenge yourself with this game, (though a glance at your uploads suggests that won't happen anytime soon,) there's always The Thousand-Year Door to turn to! (Just a joke, of course! But still, it _is_ on the table...)
I’m gonna do a level 1 run and I’m using this as a guide for what items I need, so thanks. I don't regularly watch speed runs, but was feeling a bit nostalgic about this game. Great commentary, was a fun and interesting watch. thinking of doing a casual playthrough now.
The world record is better by just 1 minute and 15 seconds. If that goes to show how much each second matters.

The reason the boat lands in the airship docks and doesn't go up to peach's castle itself is because of parking laws. If he leaves it up top, it'll be hauled away by the sky police, mario would have to pay a huge fine to get it back, and it would be a huge infraction on the star spirit's insurance record causing their premiums to sky rocket. Just because the princess is in trouble doesn't mean it's time to be reckless, gosh.

I think it'd be cool to try speedrunning a game, but I have a learning disability that impairs my fine motor skills and essentially makes quick, precise inputs almost impossible. It's also why I don't play many fighting games outside of Smash.
