You could get digital read out bits, cost between 50-300. But the precision will be worth it, if working in parts of mm. otherwise just use a digital caliper and use that for measuring, very accurate devices.
What surprised me the most was the cost of a Zippo these days. As a kid in the early 60's we spent our spare change at the local carnival fair each summer playing the various games. All us boys tried our luck at winning new lighters for lighting off fireworks. A few vendors had actual Zippos but soon all gave out "made in Japan" copies. They looked and functioned exactly the same. All of the lighters including Zippos we're solid brass with a brushed plating outside. A summer of jingling around in your pocket with change and pocket knives would start to wear through the plating to reveal the brass underneath. I suspect I still got a few of those lighters in a box somewhere but had no idea they were worth much more than $10.00 bucks tops for a new one.
Mr. Roger, Beautiful work. Carveco works in 3D but the runs in 2Dish. Is thwre anything you need to do to compensate for the difference? Have you tried Lightburn with this machine?
If chaos reigns and anarchy rules it is the loss of fine technology like this that makes me cry. How long has it been since science and art came together so well? Yeah there's a lot of bad out there but there's also a lot of good 💯
NICE FIBER LASER WORK
will try the polishing wheel
😃👍Danke für das Video.
Sehr professionell gemacht.
Da werde ich mir wohl auch mal einen Laser kaufen müssen. 👍😃

My guy, just make a height gage from wood to the exact length you need. Something so small will make setups much quicker.

Hello, I have the same device. Can I create a mirror surface with it? Or how do I create a clean hack on creamy white wood? Or how to hack the glass?
Thank you so much for the video :)
You are so welcome!
Thanks!
Thank you ;))
I have 50W Fiber Laser Marking machine with 220mm lens.. Will you share with me the parameter to engrave on stainless steel, aluminum and copper?
why is your Fiber Laser sound so nice, and it's Engrave Everywhere and not a line pass engrave
Hi roger , simple question , what tyoe of wheel is used first ? When you start to polish ? I see you used 2 different wheels . Thanks

Very awesome vids Roger. What brand is fiber laser, and cost? Thanks Soo much for what you do:) Cheers!
I would only suggest Thunder Laser to you,
@@rogerwebb9600 Thank you.
What settings do you have your laser set to do this kind of cut?
subbed
how many total passes did you do?
Is the Zippo originally painted?
does the program come with the laser or is it a separate purchase?
Who makes that laser you're using what's it called how many watts
Wouldn’t it have been easier to use the machine itself to do a cleaning pass?
do you use a voltage regulator to plug in the machine? Thanks
WOW
How much does a laser like that cost? It's very impressive!
I got mine for about $2800.00 shipped with a rotary.
I have 220mm lense. What is its exact focal length?
What kind of material is this ?
the Zippo Lighter was brass
Hello Roger, simple question. What are you using to polish the lighter? Thanks.
It is a buffer wheel...You can get them at most hardware stores
I want to do this at home. What do I need?
A laser engraver, a computer with the right software and a zippo
What fiber laser are you using? Thats not a Thunder laser
Hi, its a custom made Raycus Fiber laser
@@rogerwebb9600 Thanks Roger. I really enjoy your videos.
I am interested in getting a similar model and using it to engrave aluminium to be specific. Is possible with multiple passes to go 0.4mm deep?
