    This guy is amazing!
I also appreciate that he is having an actual conversation with the audience about laser engraving.
Having gone through so many videos of phonies lately, this just feels so REFRESHING!
I've been reviewing the xtool, but trying to grasp the improvements that fiber can do over IR. Was particularly curious about stainless steel and Roger is bringing it home here. Thank you.
Call me agist if you please, but I wish more generations were able to be on these platforms to share their perspective full of wisdom on thoughts. I'm so tired of so many sell outs out there and people just constantly trying to make a name for themselves. Roger gives off a total "on the level" feel.

How do you prevent the rusting on the blade after you etch that allows oxidization ya?

Good day Roger Webb, I look on your whole video and try same settings and parameters but result is white. Can I ask if you or anyone else can why? Thanks for any tips.

Awesome Roger, love to own that laser... bit out of my budget. Great work looking forward to the Zippo video. Thanks for making.

You need to anneal a blade like that, running any dish cloth over a rough surface like that will leave fabric all over the design, and turn off mark contour. Drop down out of focus 3-5mm and you will get a much cleaner result.

I thought that as well. Doesn't engraving like this alter the surface of the steel, leaving it prone to rusting?

Great video.. How do you get a more brownish looking color on the engraving? Do you have to give a brown or a lighter source?

Fantastic Roger! Are you able to share any tips on how you could do this without turning the material black?

hi guys, in addition to your excellent tutorial if you fibre laser using a 50 watt machine like myself, using EZCad use 0.01mm line spacing, 2100 speed and 50hz seems to do the trick for me (finish the product using a damp cloth)

Hi Roger, fantastic video. Would like to ask you to consider a build of a CNC fibre laser capable of cutting stainless sheet as a project. Does not have to be a large bed size but it does combine the CNC aspect including the steppers, electronics etc with cutting stainless into specific shapes which can then be utilized for engraving with your existing fibre engraver. So developing more of the whole value chain of the process and equipment build from raw stainless sheet through to finished product but all CNC. Thank you once again. Kind regards Gavin Wehlburg

Is there a limit to the depth this fibre laser can engrave? Also, can it engrave onto high carbon steel and what is the max bed size it can cover? Thanks.

can the stainless steel rust after engraving on it? and I'm talking about black engraving and color (MOPA)

Do you need to wear special glasses when engraving, and/or is the area that the laser is working on able to be looked at?

    • @rogerwebb9600
      @rogerwebb9600  2 роки тому

Yes and only with special laser glasses

    I highly doubt the 22kW...
Can you show us the electrical wiring (Power Cord, Fuse, etc.)
I mean, this device should have a 3 Phase 400V 32A Red Plug.

This fibre laser works simular to a capacitor or a chain of many capacitors that work on a time frame of billionths of seconds. 100 billionths of seconds charging time and 5 billionths of seconds to fire in very quick succession
