Can’t wait fr this one! It will nice to have a modern kit of it the last on I built was an Aurora kit back in the sixties. This should be a big improvement. Thanks Thomas
@@BOABModels most times the model kit manufacturers do plan multiple versions of a kit to pay for the tooling costs. Let’s hope they do a stock version.
Thanks for the review! Nice to finally see the kit parts. It looks to be a fun build, I may get one, the main chrome tree looked really poor up close, not something I'd expect from a 2023 kit, same with the wheels and grille, it's possible to mold them open so it's a shame they didn't. It's not a budget kit after all.
Great unboxing, will definitely be picking one up. While the DB5 is the most iconic Bond car, my favorite has always been the Aston Martin V8 driven by Dalton. Funny story, my best friend had a Lincoln Mark VII in high school/college, and he used to tell people he drove a Bond car as Dalton drove one in Licence to Kill.
Thanks a lot. I really like Dalton's V8 as well and that would be a good one to make. Anything is a Bond car if you look at it like that - Daniel Craig drove a rental Ford Mondeo on Casino Royale! 😅
Great review. It looks like the body shape is pretty accurate (the main problem with past attempts at a 1/24 or 1/25 version of the DB5), and it has potential to build up into a decent model. Given the way it is moulded, it appears Revell focused on the gadgets for the 'Bond' version, and a full-detail 'standard' version is likely to appear in the future. I noticed that the engine bay moulding has some accessory details, and the inside of the body has a raised line under the rear edge of the bonnet - both of these details would only be there if they intended for the bonnet to open. Even if Revell doesn't do a full-detail model, it should be a relatively straightforward task for somebody in the aftermarket to make a detail kit.
Thanks Brad. I think you're right. I've also noticed that the interior has holes for the pedals and handbrake to be left hand drive despite the kit only having a right hand drive dashboard.
Seems like decent kit. I might get one for the heck of it. I really wish revell makes a standard version of this model and engine detail added. I've always loved the styling of the DB5. Did You know the original Goldfinger car is actually a DB4 customized to look like a DB5?
Thanks for the video! I have the old Monogram (DB5 or DB4?) Model kit and I wonder if someone can use this Revell body on the Monogram chassis or use the Monogram engine on this new kit. I guess I will need to get one of the Revell kit and see.
Thank you, great sneak peak. I would love to build this stock in the green version on your introduction clip. For me, my favorite car from the movies would be the Toyota 2000GT but Aston Martin is clearly Bond so the DB5 takes top spot.
That green is beautiful - a few of the cars including that one were ones I saw in person at an Aston event earlier this year. If I wasn't making a Bond replica, I'd be looking for that paint.
Nice unboxing, I like the Toyota best as used in you only live twice, although it was a special version of it. I’ve actually sat in the DB5 when it came here for the carnival along with FAB 1, look forward to the build, model on
Interesting kit, I'd like to build one as well. Looks like they missed the mark in a couple of areas but nothing that can't be overcome. Thanks for sharing, have a great week. -David
Sigh. For the brand new tooling Revell gave us a low detail, snap tight, cubside, covered in Bond gadgetry. That giant roof hole will need a lot of work to get filled right and not to have nasty sink marks under paint. It's a shame they couldn't give us a clean, full detail, gadget free DB5. Nice unboxing Thomas. I'm sure you will knock the build out of the park.
Great unboxing! I'm a Bond fan, and this is my favorite of his cars. That said, I'd love to build the civilian version of this car. I can only hope, seeing how this kit was designed, that Revell has ir planned.
Although not seen in the film, that handle in the door card is actually a telephone handset if I remember correctly. Might just have to add this to the stash
I can't wait to get one, but i'm a little disappointed, since it hasn't got a poster from the movie, witch Revell had promised originally according to the description on their website.
I'm a little disappointed in the lack of details. For me, the main thing is did they get the overall body shape correct. I plan on doing mine as a stock DB5 as I'm not really a Bond fan. None of the previously released kits have had accurate bodies. The Doyusha kit is really bad and the old Airfix, though better, was still not great. USCP has already released a beautiful set of 3D printed wheels and tires to replace the awful kit pieces.and they are talking about doing a replacement grille as well. Hopefully they'll do an underhood set with engine as they have for other kits.
I've seen those USCP wheels and I can imagine a 3D printed grille will be a big improvement too. I do suspect a non-Bond DB5 will be released at some point but can't say when.
The only problem I can see with this model is that there are tyre shredders extending from all four wheels, only the rears had shredders on the Bond car.
Thanks for the review. Too late for me though. £42 for a snap together toy,its not a kit! Very disappointed when i found out,and returned mine back to store for a refund. Youve shown the very limited detail, and no engine , for the over inflated price ,is very poor. I was looking forward to a great model. The red and orange clear paints would be useful, thats about it. All ok for a beginner. Good luck..
122 Parts (0:13) - that's MORE parts than the £100 Kotare Spitfire Mk I ...AND you get an engine which you don't with the Kotare! How much did this Revell model cost?
As a Bond fan, I am really disappointed. As a new kit, plus for more than 50 euros, it's really a low value for the money. I will not buy it for more than 30 euros.
What's your favourite Bond car?
Aston Martin DB5. 😊
Diamonds are Forever Moon Buggy.
The Goldfinger DB5. But the Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me is a close second.
DB5, I have the 1/8th version.

Great unboxing there Thomas, looks like a fun kit filled with details all round. Thanks for the share.
Many thanks to you, Karl
Looks like a fun build I’m tempted to get one myself
I've been enjoying it so far.
This is the first review I've seen of this kit. Thanks for sharing
You're welcome - my intention was to get this review out before anyone else.
Very nice looking kit. Thank you for the lesson on which car was used when. This could be a fun build.
I hope so! Many thanks, Larry
Love the car and will probably put my hands on the kit. 122 parts in an Easy Click, nice! Thanks for sharing! 🙃
122 parts is a decent count for this kind of kit. You're welcome!
Nice looking kit. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome, Mike!

Thanks Richard. I've seen that one listed online for a lot of money - probably pretty rare now
looks a lot better than the old Airfix kit I'm doing at the moment
Yeah, I built that one years ago. I think there was a mistake in the instructions about the placement of the dashboard.
Can't wait to add one to my collection.👍
Hope you get one!
Thanks for the early review Thomas. I’m interested to see how well the roof piece fits as well as the trunk. I’d like to build a stock DB5 out of it.
You're welcome, James. Hopefully with some filler you could make them disappear. I do wonder if Revell are planning a stock version too.

I didn't know it was a DB4 originally - I'd heard it was a prototype car and red when It was given to Eon.
Looks alright! The panel lines looks really light though. Won't be getting one as the price puts me off entirely.
I chose to bite the bullet - I really wanted to make one of these. Hopefully the price will drop over time though.

Time will tell I suppose. Is that one 1/24 or 1/25? I can measure the body of this for you if you like
@@BOABModels I don't have it in my hands right now, but I believe it is 1/24 scale. Thank you again!
@@thecrapgaragechannel.Should be ok. Revell use 3D scanning for their modern kits so the dimensions are usually correct.
Looks like a decent kit, wonder how it compares to the vintage Airfix 1/25 scale glue model?

Many thanks, David. Yeah, I'm already thinking of what I could add to this one.
Reminds me a lot of that old Japanese kit
I saw that on eBay for £200!

I got it for £45 which is a bit much in my opinion. It would be less without the paints I'm sure.
