Shoutouts to Lee Harrold, Deathrowboat and Dewill for helping provide crucial information for this video.
Current situation as of the latest patch (3/1/2023)
- The infinite money glitch has now been fixed
- The upgrade station glitch is still TBD, nothing was mentioned explicitly in the patch notes, but a couple lines of text COULD be interpreted as the fix for this issue. I have access to my main account once more, but unfortunately this happened a day before the patch, so it's current status draws no conclusions.
A definite 1/2, but hopefully 2/2. Time will tell.
ok
rip to the meme strat power trips, but hey, it was fun while it lasted
FUCK, here I was seeing this video thinking I could get a free tour in but nope
bro i used it an hour ago, no way
FINALLY. No more loud money noises like it's Mr. Krabs running into a pile of cash.
It’s really interesting how both an infinite money exploit and locking you out of using money exploit both became popular at around the same time.
Yes it is. the frame perfect strat.
Locking out was probably made by the hightours who got mad about it.
This sure does say a lot about society
It does make me wonder if they are connected somehow. Perhaps someone got so annoyed by the infinite money exploit that they took drastic measures to stop it.

but mr white this will collapse the economy
Yo yo yo mista white stop breaking our ears mista white
Zimbabwe tried it you all know how did that end up.
But Jesse it's infinite money
I can’t get away from these memes
Finally, they added infinite money servers to mann up mode.
Of course, they added "no upgrade mode" plugin in the same servers....
I mean, they've been around, just nobody used them
They balanced infinite money by giving half the players no upgrades
Here comes the money!!!!
Money money money

I swear to god, another couple of years and people will find out how to spawn a sentry-buster in spawnroom at the first wave with some console commands and duct tape
You can spawn a sentry buster as soon as the wave starts if that counts.

@@jh34 Now we just need to work out how to get it into the spawn room.
given how spawning objects and characters is already a known thing you can just do with the dev console I’m shocked such a thing was never attempted already
Don’t forget a coconut
The toxic side of mvm somehow manages me to shock me more and more
Seriously at that point im getting the feeling they trying out throne League of legends as the most toxic game despise the fact that it is just a mode
@@krabbecorkorn they are angry at the fact that in MvM you have to be peacefull and work with your team
It's weird that the only purely cooperative TF2 experience has everyone at each others' throats the most out of anywhere
@@bojanmarkovic4500 theyre mad that they didnt get anything after 1000 tours on 2cities
It gets on a whole new level as i see here. But it always was pretty bad. Even years ago if you went mann up or sometimes even casual mvm and you didnt have all right upgrades bought or whole set of meta items you would be yelled at and trashed hard, then kicked out through vote. Some guys took it seriously as hell. But these exploits are totally new to me i left the game A GOOD WHILE ago. Scary stuff. And sad. The competetive side of this gamemode always provoked some tension and clashes between players but this here... is some other shit im telling you.
Been streamsniped a bunch by those bots, but I decided not to make a video about it cause I knew that that’ll just bring the attention that they want.
But now hearing that they started to attack random mvm players, man. Yup, now I agree that people need to know this.
So are you gonna make a video?
In theory, shouldnt that anti upgrade bot be shut down by a full party of 6?
Its a lot to ask for you to always play with a full friendgroup just to duck this loser, but I'd be interested to see if it works.
I dont have friends :)
Technically yes. But that's not good enough.
I see one of three things happening. either A. doing so fixes the issue, B. The bot spams it so much that a 6th can't even join your party, or C. having a full party does nothing thanks to spaghetti code.
this is an interesting idea though, and it wouldn't hurt to try
I have actually tried that a while back with a friend and two of our alts each and sadly it doesn't curb that at all. The bot still invited regardless, which was a major problem if it couldn't be stopped by something like that. Still, that was the mindset I had, since you can only have a maximum of 6 people in a party in TF2.
@@ALPHAMARIOX Imagine you somehow got six people joining your party only to still be annoyed by bots.
I wouldn’t be surprised if these two exploits are somehow connected to the never ending feud between TacoBOT and PizzaBOT
Well if that's the case it would definitely come from the taco side of things
@@badasscrusader pizzabots are the contrarians here, their whole schtick is annoying tacobots. So if somebody were to spam these bots it would be them.
Tacobots would on the other hand target players they were annoyed by and purposefully spam the buyback.
@@duncanchillake8024 I thought pizza were all about just finishing tours as fast as possible with cheats and the byproduct of that was becoming enemy number 1 to taco
@@badasscrusader not exactly, though i can see the logic in that. Their history goes a little more something like this:
Tacobots kick players for not playing the game "the way it's meant to be played" aka their way, people get fed up with it, pizzabot is formed just to spite tacobot and do the verbatim of what taco bots hate.
In the end all of them cement themselves as lifeless neckbeards and innocent players get harmed.
@@duncanchillake8024 Pizzabot doesn't actually do any harm to anyone or target people. They just exploit the fun out of the game to win faster. I'd say that's the side that would spam buyback. I imagine if Tacobot users see anyone playing on a server with anyone doing buyback, they'd do anything to get them soft banned from MvM.
MvM just can't catch a break, can't it?
Yeah and it can't really catch an update either gottem
Tf2 moment
He said that already
The whole of tf2 can’t catch a break. I have seriously never seen a game be targeted harder by hackers than this one.
Funnily enough. It's fun when you do it in boot camp, The other I was in a server with some randoms where everyone was doing it and so was I. It turned from robots vs Humans to Robots vs Gods.
Yeah, coz boot camp is the fuck around version of mvm
Man vs machine to MANN vs machine
Tbf Boot Camp is the "real" MvM. TF2's specialty is being just a non-sweat, do-whatever game and that's the reason why everytime people meme Valorant and Overwatch, a person always mentions this game.
Games are meant to be fun, unlike that "maNn uP moDe" where crybaby stinky sweat lords spend their time gambling. 🍷🗿
I did this in boot camp and one guy got really pissed and kicked me lol
@@rane7784you can try writing comments like a normal person instead of a sweaty tryhard
MvM really is an entirely separate country compared to the rest of TF2, it's crazy. You could probably make an entire documentary about its history and wars.
That shit could be 5 hours and I'd watch all of it in one sitting
The thing about making videos covering exploits is that they're unironically much more likely to get Valve to actually do something to fix their game than just reporting the problem to them ever will.
It's the equivalent of begging youtube to do something on Twitter
reminds me of old delfy videos
@@badasscrusader You say that, but it's literally the only way UA-cam responds to feedback and criticism when it comes to their policies and rule enforcement. It's actually kind of fucking sad how they don't even communicate with people on their own website
I knew somebody at some point was going to report this bug to UA-cam or Valve. I have done this bug many times before in Boot Camp servers and discovered it thanks to one of my Steam friends. Changing your class after upgrading anything from another class after doing the glitch boots you from the server.
Why UA-cam?
@@sandwitchy0 I'm guessing they meant "someone will make a video on it or report it to Valve"
Another thing that can boot you out the server (or the game) is if you fail a wave after doing the exploit, I've discovered that after trying to solo Rottenburg as a Demoknight in my own server.
that's fraud my man
What if there really is a bigger connection between both bugs emerging at the same time? Hear me out, what if some scumbags who abuse the infinite money glitch to breeze through two cities trying to get aussies are behind those upgrade lock bots? In their toxic minds, they think everyone would use the infinite money to try and get aussies, so they try to prevent as much people from playing mvm as possible so only they can abuse it. Thats probably also why its happening to normal people and not just streamers, they see anyone playing mann up as competition, and try to get rid of them. Maybe the exploit to lock people out of upgrades has already been cooking for a while and they saw the infinite money as the prime chance to unleash it. I just dont think that two exploits, emerging around the same time and doing the exact opposite of each other, can be coincedental, even for TF2s spaghetti code that seems too much to just happen by chance.
Cool theory
I'll add that both are essentially able to be aimed, with the infinite money only usable by the one using the glitch, while the upgrade denial glitch has as mentioned in the video been famously used to deny specific streamers the ability to play, it's too convenient that both glitches are variations specifically able to target a chosen individual or only working for your own benefit. Sadly without solid evidence of this occuring currently found this is only a theory at this point and it could be just a ridiculous coincidence.
im 42 like, it has to be true
yes. because everyone who only plays mann up for the rewards and uses a glitch to make getting those rewards easier is secretly just anti fun, and will go out of their way to ruin the game for others to no benifit for themselves, just, because. and not only that, they're obviously orginized, and specifically didn't use an exploit that they already knew about just because they had a feeling that another exploit they could abuse it together with would come along. there's no way that all the infinite money users are just individuals who want australiums, and want them easily. that would be preposterous. clearly they're also abusing a glitch that directly makes it much more difficult if they're playing with someone who the glitch is affecting.
tldr: you're an idiot.
I don't see what benefit this offers to anyone genuinely try hard speed running mvm
their drop chances wouldn't be any higher, it wouldn't affect the lobbies they actually play in, and if it did, it would hurt THEIR team.
where's the motivation for a grinder to do that?
If you switch classes, it will often kick you. Don't try to switch classes too often for fun, bc you will disconnect and lose 4 waves of progress and requeue.
I remember that it used to kick me if i refunded money one too many times. Mostly in a wave 666 where you have a lot of it so maybe the numbers were an issue. But the worse one was when you refunded the money and it went to negative numbers and you had nothing... Well the number was there but with a nice green phat minus in front...
you can rejoin, but using retry in console command too many Tims may kick you from server with no rejoin option
@@mezzotrop8901 how tf you gonna refund in wave 666? Theres only one wave, and you cant refund during s wave
I find it really upsetting when people try to say that MvM isn’t full of toxic people, and then finding these things that people do. It’s really sad

I've got 117 tours. I don't like kicking new players and wont suffer cheaters or exploiters.
In a library, you can have 99% of people being quiet and chill, but it only takes 1 person screaming and running around to ruin everyone's time.
As if MvM couldn’t get any easier.
I gotta admit, I’ve done this- however I’ve played with a full lobby of friends so I don’t ruin the game for others.
I myself have 333 tours in Two Shitties, and this exploit just made me go “LMAO XD”. Cause essentially you don’t have to use your brain to play the game since you cannot die.
I’ve learned that skullcutter demo and stock grenade launcher is extremely fun. And many of my other friends have played with various different loadouts that sounds stupid on paper but somehow works because of this exploit.
Hope everything gets fixed pretty soon though.
if this gets people to appreciate the skullcutter, then it absolutely should not be fixed
@@Mate_Antal_Zoltan skullcutter is a good weapon in mvm, with or without the exploit. and it SHOULD be fixed. Hate every game i go into being ear rape and people just cheesing everything to hell.
there was an exploit like this years back with the Sandman, there's always someone finding new infinite money glitches on MvM, definitely not the first time it's happened, hopefully the last
hopefully not the last

@@fortnitesexman I'm not sure what lobbies you're getting into but people don't generally abuse refund that much. sometimes there's a high tour swapping 3-4 times a game but it's like once every 6 lobbies? in my experience at least
What sad pathetic people must make a bot account just to lock people out of playing a game mode?
Oh my god I joined a game and this happened for like the first second so I just thought it was source spaghetti code, now it totally makes sense why that soldier could've soloed the early waves with extreme ease
Thank you so much for pointing this out, both of these have been happening to me recently (for some reason i got targeted, I never knew how to do the infinite money thing so no coloration?)
im glad to see at least a handful of people are looking out for MvM
Honestly there is no inbetween.
1) People who wanna have fun already queue with full parties of friends and don't use it.
2) People who rage into the mic either leave or kick so that's a no go
3) People who wanna grind asap so they can use their real life time to better use.
I tried the exploit out on some Boot Camp servers for fun with my friends, but I won't try it in Mann Up for a few reasons. But... the exploit at the end that you mention seems WAY more scary. I'm probably gonna have to avoid MvM for a while now, which is a damn shame considering how much BS it's been dealing with already, but I dunno, the waters feel super muddied for the time being.
MIGHT keep doing the exploit in parties with friends on Boot Camp servers to test out funny loadouts and veg out, but otherwise, big yikes. Hope your account gets let loose soon!
Yeah, it _sucks._
I’m surprised tacobot members didn’t try and legitimately deafen people they didn’t like with the buyback exploit while it was still in the game
Let me guess: Delfy was the one who popularized it, right?
EDIT: I truly believe that these kinds of people who do exploits/griefs JUST to ruin the game for everyone else are forfeit of their Internet privileges. As in: they fully deserve (and should be) permanently banned off the grid. And all bots/scripts that automate this need to be wiped from the Internet. Delfy is VERY MUCH one of the prime suspects, followed by known bot devs.

Nice playing with you. I’m Five at 1:50. I knew about the exploit because some poor sap mentioned it on social media, and I wanted to see how true it was. Suffice to say, it was hilarious.
That being said, I know this exploit needs to be patched out. It fundamentally breaks the entire balance of the game, and it actually got very boring (at least for me) once the initial hilarity and powertrip wore off. Furthermore, I was totally unaware of those bots who target streamers and that’s utterly messed up. I’m honestly somewhat shocked that it wasn’t associated with a group like Tacobot in order to weed out players, but I guess we’ll see what happens seeing as how it’s much more public now
Still too early to say if it's affiliated with one group or not. Give it a week now that someone's talking about it. I get the feeling they'll take credit for their own handiwork.
@@risa1467 if I'm understanding you right, you're talking about people being kicked for using the money exploit. Was really only talking about the upgrade blocking bot. Particularly because it screams I want attention for doing a thing that made people upset.
The exploit itself is funny, but definitely something that either everyone should be okay with or it's not okay at all. IMO something you can take to boot camp if you really wanted to see for yourself. Slightly reminiscent of Pyro DF gas passer.
...and just when I started streaming and began thinking I might want to start grinding MvM again. Never cared for the community, and this just further fuels that dislike. I tried the exploit just for testing and how will this affect my sanity before delfy discovered it, I thought "Huh very obscure exploit cool"
That didn't aged very well
If I had to guess, the reason the upgrade lock-out exploit became so popular at around the same time as the infinite money exploit did was probably because some of these bothosters/exploiters are trying to counter or target the players that abuse the infinite money glitch.
The problem is that they're catching a lot of innocent players in the crossfire, basically getting dangerously close to holding the entire gamemode hostage until both bugs get fixed.
In short, I think we're looking at another MvM neckbeard faction war, this time against two types of exploiters.
It can also be the same people doing both as well... People who are using the inf money glitch and saying, 'Hey! Everyone can use this! Only I should be able to!' Then doing that to everyone else they see on an alt account.
No, it's just the same usual bot makers who started targeting MVM after noticing that Casual isn't the only gamemode.
Ah yes the "no fun allowed" game mode
Unless you are playing bootcamp, i remember topscoring as fish scout in that shit and nobody said a thing.
Mann up has a reward system, that's why it attracts manchildren
So sad to see MvM in such a state. It was supposed to be a flagship gamemode to tf2, not something to be so neglected. If this sort of thing were to happen to Mannpower or Passtime, it would be bad, but I would understand it, since very few people actually play those gamemodes. But Mvm? MvM is huge. It's so lame so this happen.
Boot Camp proving itself as the superior mode yet again
Something tells me that people are exploiting these glitches and bugs for the sole purpose of trying to get Valve to do something
I think you're giving these bad actors a bit too much credit.
Or they just like ruining games for other people. This is the exact same "logic" people used for the aimbot crisis; "Oh, it's to force Valve to focus on TF2!"
Spoiler alert: it wasn't, they just said that to make themselves seem sympathetic. You don't cheat in ways that ruin a game for others to get the devs to fix it, you cheat in ways that ruin games for others because you *want* to ruin games for others.

It's not just Mann Up mode, I tried playing a round of MvM boot camp today and the same things happened. A few minutes later the server lagged so hard it reverted everyone back to stock weapons. Idk if it had to do with the earlier buyback glitch or not tho.
Well, on the first part of the video. Played a tour in pack of 6 with my friends yesterday. Most of us are fairly experienced with MvM to not have troubles with it, so we started to use it since the second mission and well...
If you use it for fun - it's really amusing. Battle medic with mad milk syringes being viable? Demoknight running around with persian persuader and tide turner while being not a liability? Airstrike soldier on early waves? Hell, we've even made spy being really good.
As for second part... well, damn. Reminds me of that tacobot post of them threatening to spam bots to make MvM unplayable.

Thing is if you actually think about it, mvm hasnt been updated in any real capacity since 2014 so all these glitches that existed are bound to be found at some point, and well valve's job is to fix them
TF2 becomes like GTA V on PC.
Streamers, ytubers can't play GTA V, because their game literally being crashed instantly when joined the game. If you will upset a cheater there, or you are famous, then you are going to be unable to play GTA V on PC. PC only because there are no hack clients for consoles. But yeah, we got same situation here. Rockstar doesn't care so much about this issue, however I believe that valve will do something with the issue with TF2. And let's be honest, inf money glitch don't really need to be fixed, as much as that issue. Thankfully the problem only touch MVM players, you still can play casual. And TF2 is free game so you can create alt.

they probably already have an "exploiting retard" tag for things like this, or something along those lines at least
I don’t know if you know this but if multiple people use the exploit it can stop all bot spawning because of too much happening.
I would guess that it's someone who had access to tacobots user list, or if you used the bot kicking tool in the past, it likely logged you.
@@risa1467 My assumption is based on that they targeted me in the past in MvM, because the bot detector had a list developed for their bots and flagged for users who were toxic. You probably saw what I posted on Reddit. The buffer overflow happens when you spam that command multiple times, and after that (This happened to me after I finished a wave because I used the following bind), I used my bind to change classes. I did not even spam it, I just pressed it once. Then I got kicked out because of buffer overflow. I tried to go back to the server, and most of the time, I was kicked out after picking a class because of said buff overflow. But sometimes I did manage to pick a class, and when I did, weird things such as bot spawning did not work, rendering the wave unplayable.

Honestly, I'd just want to finish Mann Up just to get potential pan in 5 minutes
what if valve has it set so no pan for -99999 upgrade $ lel
Its about the money, not the gameplay
-TF2 2023
@@kings5218 Yeah because they do that. stfu.
Jesus Christ I hate this glitch. Tried playing some mvm today and my ears are begging me to never play again. If I do play again it WILL be with audio turned off. And it appears I’ve been targeted by some of the party bots. So that’s fun.
This is troubling news, indeed. Here's praying you get your main account back, Weezy.
I came across a server of bots the other day when wanting to play MvM. I immediately had to mute my computer to protect my ears from the loud barrage of noises the buy back bots were causing. Exploits can be fun but I would rather not have to fight two kinds of bots at the same time. I hope your account can be recovered soon
_This_ is why I have headphones with built-in volume sliders.
Sudden ear-destroying noise? One quick flick and it's muted.
The worst part is that people who aren't exploiting are refusing to vote kick and instead want free tours. Expert really sucks now because part of why I chose it is the difficulty.
I've even seen people who do it constantly from the second they join the server all the way up to when they get votekicked as soon as the two minute limit is up.
Edit: correction: the worst part is that some of the players I've seen doing this are so bad at mvm that even with the infinite money, they still can't win. No, soldier, having a maxed beggar's bazooka does Not mean you should shoot the Uber medics.
Why not just play boot camp at that point? It's for free and people have no incentive to cheese it out for an easy win.
@@duncanchillake8024 People still do cheese it out for an easy win, every server I joined yesterday had one person doing the buyback exploit.
ive been doing the dumbest shit possible with this exploit. last night i was using the soda popper with the bonk atomic punch and just flew around the map the entire time. its been a great time tbh.
4:16 HE SAID IT
I think the infinite credit glitch is something I feel could be at least a tiny bit fun for the time being with a little bit of communication. Not with a group of friend fully fine with messing around with it? Just ask everyone else if it’s cool to do it and maybe even if they wanna join in to just screw around. Most of them say no? Then either play the game normally or find another server.
As for the more important exploit, it’s crazy how far people will go just so others can’t have fun with a game
I remember being with my friends playing Mann up once the video on how to do the exploit was live, at first we were so confused but once it stopped and we competed the mission we didn’t think about it. But we realized it was literally happening on every other mission we been in, and new players were more or less confused in boot camp and they can’t even speak in chat to defend themselves, this is definitely not a good first impression for those just joining tf2 and if they get caught with not being able to buy upgrades then they’re likely gonna think tf2 is nothing but a lost cause
Reminds me of an experience I had with CS:GO. The first ever match I joined was full of spin bots. Never played since.
Can't deny I've had some fun with the newfound financial boost in mann up.
You can thank Delfy for showcasing this bug and causing us all headaches with the money exploit.
I think the funniest part about this exploit is that I have ONLY seen players who don’t know what they’re doing exploiting it. I had to do Empire a second time in my last tour so a friend who joined late could catch up, and the mission was SIGNIFICANTLY faster our second time, as opposed to the first time where our medic and engineer both abused this, and in fact we nearly lost a wave at one point because the engineer couldn’t keep his sentry up even WITH max building health, and the soldier and heavy were too distracted covering for that missing damage to stop a giant scout running past.
I was on my bi annual MvM spree just about a month ago and then this starts just a few weeks later. Lol glad I missed it
why would they fix the infinite money glitch first when the no upgrades glitch is more game breaking, easier to patch, makes the game have less players 💀
I just tried this 3 times and it's really fun. But then when I just want to play normal, almost every my next mvm use this infinity money. Damn every I get to the server, that one player didn't join first and just spam buy back until max or just to annoying others
you can use a vpk to override the sound and completely remove it
Yeah this bug has been a thing for a while and in my 10 years I've only ever come across one person who's done it, and that was 2 years ago lol. But whoopty-doo, Delfy just had to come along and get his greasy little hands on that info and make a video on it. Oh well, I take solace in the fact that it'll most certainly be patched real soon. No way they'd let this one hang around for long.
I will say though, there is a bright side to all this. That being queue times for Gear Grinder and other unpopular missions are now the fastest I've ever witnessed. And with pretty much a guarantee success, at least I don't have to wait an eternity for a mission, only to lose over and over again with players who don't want to learn how to play.
Oh and by the way, throwing this command in too many times most certainly causes a disconnect with: "Issued to many commands to the server".
Especially if you use a semi-colon to separate commands, so that multiple commands can be executed with just one line entered. When doing this, I maxed out the character limit on the console with td_buyback (repeated over and over to the max limit for one entry), by the 4th entry you get forcefully disconnected.
The sound it makes though when executing a dozen or so buyback commands, all at once at once, it's just beautiful...
so what your telling me is when theres a glitch that targets a mode that may harm the market place they fix quickly however when it comes to actually releasing content for the game and or fulfilling promises they just change their words. Strange how that works.
Finally, Battle Medic is viable
Jesus this is just sad man I thought mvm would be safe from the bots but i guess not. Kinda want to come back to tf2 to play mvm but i guess not now lol
That second issue is the kind of thing that makes me wish for malicious code to fight back with. Like, something you could send back to the invite spam bot that just melts its AI.
Simple, just making party entry not affect the upgrade station until they actually join the server.
To be honest if I were capable of coding, I would make some kind malicious code that would do that, and to potentially severely brick the computer or device the bot is being runned from if the computer or device so happens to have the Team Fortress 2 application open.
Ya can’t bloody abuse an exploit via a bot or even do such exploit at all if your computer so happens to start slowing down or crashing whenever you try to run the application the exploit is associated with.
If you *truly* want to Shitpost with this exploit, then now absolutely is the time to do so.
Valve is gonna release an actual update this summer and something like this will 100% be fixed.
Like Weezy said, now is your first, last, and only time to fuck around with unused weapons that aren't part of the meta.
So, go Shitpost, my fellow gamers. Shitpost to your hearts content!
Good lord let’s hope that summer update fixes all the shit that’s been going on in this game once and for all
