This will compete mainly with raised height Toyota Crown PHEV I think. Liking the sharp styling look of this Peugeot. Would be nice to see a back-to-back comparo review of this almost new segment. Great channel.
Crown is two classes above. Peugeot 508 would compete with the Toyota Camry/Audi A4/3series/C class, and the Crown would be A6/5 series/E class competitor
I love Stellantis products recently. Especially the 1.2 EAT8 130 versions of most of the European sold cars from the PSA side of the company. Cars like the 508, Astra, this 408, the slightly older c4 space tourer etc etc etc are exactly what Europeans NEED.
On problem with the design, as I found driving The 208 is, the rear view mirror is set too low. Driving in The UK, I couldn't see out of the windscreen clearly to the left without either ducking my head (neckache) or lowing the seat (arse on the floor). Why is the rear view mirror set so low? Needs to be placed higher.
Peugeot is just a brilliant brilliant car company. They've really gone upmarket, while remaining at a normal price point. VW and all the other mainstream makers should be scared. No VW for instance comes even close to Peugeot's build quality.
You are spot on, Andrew ! Many Brits won't accept to admit the truth, because it's a French car maker, but you have spoken the truth. Peugeots are absolutely brilliant cars.
@@garnray8568 They really are! Everyone is always banging on about how ford's offerings are better, but theyre absolutely rubbish compared with what peugeot has to offer

6:51, but wouldn’t the phone in that case fly “forward” (if it can move even more forward) instead of backwards towards a passenger? When you brake you’re also not pushed into your seat, but actually the opposite. Also, where is the central locking button inside the car? 😅 Good review! But Brian, don’t forget to put the head restraint up, so that the top of your head is aligned with the top of the restraint. I’ve seen you (not) do it in other vehicles, and it’s really important for your own safety. ☺️ Safety first!
I also thought this was odd, the phone would fly forwards not backwards in a hard braking situation, so wouldn't actually be hitting anybody in the face from that position under the infotainment screen.
Most probably the phone wont fall in someone’s face, Brian was just exaggerating, pointing out that open phone areas tend to not hold your phone tight enough
I have a Peugeot 3008 in the UK and I expected to use Google maps for navigation. However, I have found that the Peugeot navigator, with its Tomtom traffic feed is superior. Recalculation to avoid traffic jams is excellent and in the UK, I haven't come across any gaps in the map. I never use Sport mode. You do have to stamp on the accelerator to get going. I think Peugeot has done that deliberately to get good real world fuel economy. If I avoid pressing the pedal to the metal, I can get 60 mpg in hybrid mode, which can last for more than an hour's driving if you start with a full charge. When the battery is discharged it drops to around 40 mpg. If you want to overtake on a single carriageway, you just put your foot all the way to the floor and it does really take off and the engine tells you it's doing so. Now I've got used to that behaviour, I think that's what I want. 95% of the time it's quiet and economical, but then if you need to, you can get at > 200 PS.
Nothing beats the styling of the 508 gt estate but this is pretty nice. Shame the brand has such a low profile in my country, (lack of) after sale support would put me off purchasing one.

* That point brings me to the following: next year my 208 will not be allowed to enter the low-emissions zone of the city I work in anymore (it's a 2014 1.6 HDi, so stuck at Euro5 emissions levels). As replacements I'm either looking towards a Renault Clio V (petrol 133 hp automatic or hybrid, not decided yet), or the facelifted e-208, with the new 115 kW engine. i have a 2008 with the puretech 1.2L 130hp engine. as far as acceleration goes the car is pretty responsive for me. i imagine this car with the same engine won't be so bad either as it's probably lighter
This car is heavier than 2008
Yes, that engine even works okay in the 5008 according to What Car, who recommended that version
Sitges 😚😍
Interior looks awfully similar to VAG cars, which is sad look for Audi.
