Welcome back Brian. Good to see you back on Autogefühl.
Thanks
@@pietvelkens219 You're not Brian?? lmao
Brian is awesome.
@@carbonara2144 Thank you
185cm here. was afraid of the driving position but turns out it works perfectly for me too. i raised the seat a bit and lowered the steering wheel and was able to see the display perfectly while still being comfortable
Welcome back Brian......now Thomas can go on a well earned holiday! First time looking forward to seeing a Peugeot review, looking very good.
Welcome back, Brian. I bought a 508SW partially thanks to your review. Looking forward to this.
👌😎
I hate the fact that there is an engine gap. 1.2 130bhp and then you have to step up all the way money wise to a plug-in hybrid. There needs to be 150-180 hp petrol version for this car to compete.
Not that much of a difference between 130 and 150-180.
@@livolas there is still a difference especially if the engine is larger displacement with more torque.
the bigger problem is the small engine that is being turbo boosted. It won't last that much.
@@DeepSlice Depends how long you are going to keep the car. Some VW come with 1.0 liter engines. 1.4 Tsi has been full of problems.
No that would not make sense in Europe. That would put them above 120g co2/km and the new bar to optimally get under is 95g.
Yay! Our brother Brian is back! Having the video title and thumbnail announce your return goes to show how much of a significant and amazing of an impact you have left on us long-time _Autogefühl_ watchers. Returning like an amazing character that has been gone for so many chapters. It is great to see you again...still expressing your thoughts extremely well, and moving with those short legs and long torso. 😅 Truly giving a unique perspective with your "setup." 😅
But seriously, it has been such a long time, brother. I hope you and your loved ones have been doing well, especially during these tough times of Coronavirus. Stay safe. 💖 Also, rest in peace, Holga. Surely was a great man and member of the team. He will be missed. 😢
Interesting question about hybrids. I guess it kind of depends. I have driven a few hybrids like the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE, W222 S-Class, and A-Class, and I thought they were incredible. I think it depends on the vehicle I am driving, because a vehicle like the ones mentioned are not geared for performance, nor did they feel significantly heavier. Maybe I did not notice the weight, but I am not as weight-conscience when driving cars like that, and they did not lose control on bumps or road undulations. The A-Class was kind of noticeable, but not at all intrusive. I think it comes down to how well the car is engineered with the battery. Sometimes, they are afterthoughts-or feel like afterthoughts because they aren't developed from the ground up or aren't developed properly at all. It is kind of like when a big engine is shoved into a car, but the car is not further tuned to carry it. For me, whether hybrids are good just depends on the hybrid I am looking at, not all hybrids in general.
I have the older 2017 BMW 225xe plug-in hybrid that in a way used to be similar to what Peugeot used to to offer in the previous generation of their plug-in hybrids. But the BMW dynamics brings it to anther level. With some fatter tires in the back it's really sweet :P
Welcome back, the man with unbelievably long torso! :D
😁
Woooowwww, i´m soooo missing Brian, now he is back, the Return of Brian ... 🙋♂️
Finally a reviewer I can trust - driving 124 in a 110 zone and not hiding it - you're my kind of reviewer :-)
it was about time, welcome back Brian!
The new Peugeot models look really cool.
Oh, and nice to see Brian back. I love his analysis of the exterior lines and design decisions :)
It is wonderful to see you again on this channel! Welcome back.
Superb review Brian and a suberb car, Peugeot is nailing it lately
The new logo, the new design, NICE!
It’s great to see you’re back Brian!
I like the design of the new 308. However, I was expecting a larger (and newer) choice of engines.
Thank you
The hybrid powertrains seem pretty good at least on paper, though.
I was looking at this or the new golf , im going for the golf a big reason was the choice of engines the golf has loads and a hybrid option, the peugout has got a cool design tho but its not for me
@@jacobzimmermann59 very good
New Peugeot 308
I love the fact that both Brian and Thomas are sooo articular and balanced in there analysis to there reviews. I find others to biased against French cars which is rather childish and dishonest to say the least. I absolutely live the SW.
Welcome back Brian - missed your review style, your funky shoes and insights - more please
Thank you for the great in depth review and welcome back!
Brian is back, that's really great news!
Hi, I'm Brian, welcome to Autogefühl and welcome
to the hills just outside of Cannes. We come here
to bring you the brand-new Peugeot 308. Now, the
predecessor to this car sold over 1.3 million
units. So to suggest that this C-segment car is
important to Peugeot, might be just a little bit of
an understatement. We're going to take a closer
look and find out just what they've done to it.
There are so many changes that have taken place
with this redesign, but I think it's important to mention
right at the outset that there are 5 different trim levels:
the entry level is the Active, then you have the Allure,
the Allure Pack, the GT and the top one of all is the GT
Pack. The car that we're driving here today is the GT
and that's really important to note because there are
some styling differences that are quite significant
between the different trim levels.
Now, I wanna start here: the 2 key things that immediately
leap out at you are of course, this: the badge redesign.
Now, if you think this looks slightly familiar, you wouldn't
be wrong. But the last time that the lion's head featured
by itself without the body was all the way back in the 70s,
so this is a very new generation for the Peugeot and that
matches this very new looking grille. If you're familiar with
the predecessor to the 308, it felt a lot more standard. Now
usually, you'd expect the 308 to be competing in the same
sort of area as the Ford Focus and maybe the Škoda Octavia
along with a wide range of other cars.
I always loved Peugeots 405s&406s. I like this 308.
Really glad you are back. Great review - need more from you…
Welcome back mate! we missed you……
Great review, Brian!
the best youtube channel for car reviews.
Great to have you back Brian, great review. You have been missed sir.
🙏🙏🙏
Good to have you back Brian! Thorough, clear and great review, thanks!
Peugeot's colour game is strong with this model!
As always, this Peugeot sometimes goes way over the form over function. But I gotta say that this feels so much nicer than the VW Golf.
The design look better than the golf but not quality i own a golf 8 eveb tho its not as good as last year still very slightly better than this peugout
@@hiiiofficial8306 But it feels oh so bland.
@@hiiiofficial8306 where do you find that "quality" in a Golf 8? Infotainment is laggy and bugged, pretty much every button is put on an ugly piano black touch tile that collects fingerprints like mad, the ones on the steering wheel tend to have mind on their own, touch sliders for temperature/volume control have no backlight, they even skimped on painting the underside of the bonnet, not mentioning cowl plastics that are all loose, DSG gearbox takes ages to react to a sudden throttle input and it's the only modern car that gave me back pain after 3 hours of driving. I was genuinely shocked how bad the Golf 8 was when I first drove it, especially compared to the Golf 7.5 which I really liked.
In Warranty Direct statistics on warranty time issues the VW Group cars have been soon 20 years almost every year among the worst. PSA cars on the other hand better than Toyota and Honda.
@@hiiiofficial8306 Is it? Where did you try the new 308? I'm curious
Brian with regards to the HVAC controls, I think you can create a virtual toggle that includes all of your preferred parameters, thus enabling you to put those on in one touch.
I agree with you that it would still be better to have physical controls.
Still impressed by the quality of your reviews! Many thanks!
Welcome back Brian !
Finally you are here! Love to watch your review.
I really enjoyed this presentation. As an American it’s interesting to me how much time was spent discussing function. Seems like we just like how things look in general.
Welcome!
Good to see you back !!
I enjoyed watching the Video Review. I particularly like the Green Paint Colour and I also like the styling
Nice review! And nice Peugeot as well!
Thx keep tuning in!
Honestly love everything about this! One of the best looking cars in the market
Good to see and hear you Brian ;)) Good Review!
Welcome back Brian, good to see you back! I wonder how the Focal sound system sounds? Is it any good?
Thanks! Definitely enhances sound quality
Its one of those cases when a lower level trim is much more welcome in case of climate control use. 8:34
The 308 is the only Peugeot I have driven and I was very impressed. French cars as a whole are pretty good, but their residual values are absolutely horrendous - with Peugeots being the best, then again you pay more for them.
Cant polish a turd
over 40 years of driving (with 5 PSA cars and 1 Fiat in service during that span). I have enjoyed every bit of it, residuals were not on my priority list. Bought 2 (25 yr old) ZXs for my young sons and they have been doing 400km trips regularly with them. Buy these PSA cars for driving comfort and pleasure.
Well, if you buy the car and use it until you can't do it anymore, instead of going for a new one every 3 or 5 years, you will save a tonne of money and the residuals become irrelevant.
That's what I have been doing for the past 13 years with my Citröen C4 and loving the results. No problems with mechanics, the car is still nice to drive and I saved a lot of money doing that.
It has been so long not watching you, Brian! So nice to hear you again!
Good to see Brian back, very informative review.
Best looking Hatchback ever! Yh front looks futuristic and the back looks good if a little conservative. Love the interior but I wish the back seats had more space!
I have just order the 308 SW GT 225 hybrid based on this review so thank you very much.
Damn that car has some road presence
Hey Thomas, any chance of you guys getting to review the updated Lexus models? The new NX looks like it's going to be an amazing car.

Amazing speech and very good and to the point feedback! Thanks for this video!
👍👍
Welcome back Brian, nice to see you again ;)
Thank yiu
Who is this fellow? He's full of charm, well spoken and overall just fantastic!
(obviously recent subscriber here :))
That long torso though...
Love your review Brian !! Keep it up man !! Greetings from Barcelona :)
Honestly it's a handsome car.
god this car looks so gorgeous, it’s so low to the ground for an oem car and the profile is just insane, like if audi were to out-audi themselves
I drive a peugeot and the steering wheel and i-cockpit view is not a problem. After driving with this small steering wheel i cannot not see myself driving with a big steering wheel. All cars should switch to the small steering. The 308 design is cool but the front peugeot badge could have been a little smaller.
Welcome back Brian! Very informative review as usual!
Great to have you backBrian great review.
The new badge looks very nice 👌
Welcome back Brian. Great Return :-D
cheers!
I would actually consider the lower spec 1.6 diesel… it will be much lighter, less complicated and still economical
Wise choice going for the diesel.
Πολύ σπορ όμορφο αυτοκίνητο!
Έξυπνη αναλυτική παρουσίαση!
Welcome back Brian, good to see you back.
Puegot has done some brilliant styling in recent years.
True. The brand is roaring these days!
Good to see you again. Welcome back.
I have a new 5008 GT Premium. The heating system is very easy to use when driving. I love it. It's my first Peugeot.
"His, I am Brian" and "the Thomas Blue"...Two wonderful reviewers...
😊
great vid, love the 308sw, had a few. currently have the 5008 premium... perhaps you could do a vid on that one day... keep up the great content
Cheers keep tuning in!
Welcome back Brian but we missed Thomäs too! Stay Safe! 🌷🌿
Wow. Brian is back 🥂😎😀😀
Wonderful review... I love Peugeot
Cheers Brian - welcome back! great review as ever 👍🙌
🤘🤘
Welcome back Brian, awesome review
👌👌
great review as always. would like to know a little more about the low trim cars
Super looking car ..personally this is my #1 group that I love globally
Thumps up for Brian! :-) 👍👍👍
Brian! Great to see you back.
Fantastic video Ang great to have you back 👏
Thank you Brian, this review it's amazing, very good job! I love the car and the way you describe it!
🙏🙏
Good to see you again. As always perfect.
yet another great review. thank you Brian.
Nice to have Brian back!
Probably the best looking car in the segment! Two things I don't like - 3 cylinder engine and no physical buttons for AC/infotainment. It is getting to a point that I would purposely not buy a car with "all digital" cockpits.
I recently drove a 2018 Peugeot 208 and I was very annoyed with infotainment and the fact that thing is blasting light like crazy in the night. Thank God display can be turned off.
Very happy to see you back Brian! Lost a lot of weight as well I think, you look great :-)
Thanks 🙏
Very good test 👍
My favorite reviewer is back. Yay.
welcome back brian
Hybrid cars make a good deal of sense for anyone who doesn't have the ability to top off the charge on an all-electric car because they live in an apartment, for instance, but who also has to actually drive the car at real world distances. Hybrids really are the best of all worlds for "normal" cars. When it comes to enthusiast machines, we will have to hope that tubular-frame kit-type cars with motorcycle engines are still available (that is, not illegal) into the future because otherwise having fun in a car is going to be totally impossible due to the weight and size inherent in electrified cars.
Pleased to see Brian back.
Great seeing Brian again. Get him to review the new VW Transporter and combi, we know he loves his vans and pickups!
Welcome back, great review. Thank you :)
You have been missed! Welcome Back!
💪
The interesting thing about the cockpit display 3D idea is that a concept car from Saab called Aero X that featured such tech years ago. Amusing how little things like that is now catching up into real function.
Such an elegant car. Is Peugeot adopting a strategy similar to what Mazda has done in recent years by attempting to move into a more upscale area of car manufacturing? That space that straddles the economy car and luxury car segment is certainly an interesting one.
PSA cannot do spacious rear room but luggage space is superb
Our local police have got a lot of these lately and they look damn good. Not sure whether they have the hybrid or not but they look great.
My favourite short legged, long torsoed youtube presenter 👍🏻
I wanna buy the 308 SW diesel.
I wanna do a challenge in this from London to Paris and back on a tank of fuel.
Going to be coming out of a V60 II some time over the next year or two and want to 'economise'. I really liked the 508 estate, it looks brilliant, but wanted to save more money really. This sounds like the perfect car in theory, it maintains the great look of the 508 but should be more friendly on the wallet!
Edit: just seen the prices, not such an attractive offering after all! Hopefully they'll get strong discounts as they're ridiculously expensive for a focus-sized Peugeot. Volvo do the same, over-value the mrrp of their cars - list price for mine is over £46k, I bought it 1 year old with a couple k miles for £27k, 2 years ago.
Nice to have Brian back... more videos please...
