Ordered a 1.2 408 allure premium trim in titanium grey. Such a nice car to drive, it was the 1.2 that i test drove, and that engine pulls very well despite the size and weight, cant wait to get my hands on my own! Really liked this review as it finally included the 1.2 petrol version with its performance and boot space compared to the hybrid. Nicely done review.
Perfect description. I took my e208 in for a service last week and they had one of these in this colour in the showroom. Really is a gorgeous looking car and having sat in it for a minute it is indeed lovely, a bit wacky inside but I thought is was actually a bit reserved for a Peugeot - definitely more Germanic than French. Not the sort of car I would buy but definitely up there in the Phwooor stakes!
Good video - clear and focused without any personal prejudices getting in the way of objectivity. Beautiful car. Super design flourishes. My 2008 is excellent so I'd confidently expect excellent build quality, reliability and economy. Fun to drive too with plenty of zip when needed. Choices. This. Another 2008. The C4. An older DS5. Love French cars.
that's one stunningly beautiful car. Dramatic design. Love it so bad !!! Peugeot is already regarded as mid premium on the continent, going full premium with stuff like this. VIVE LE PEUGEOT VIVE LA REPUBLIC
I want someone to sell an aftermarket horn that one can equip to their car that screams "Bougez" in a French accent. Of course it also needs to be littered with mild obscenities.
Hi Tim - great review thanks - went to test drive the 308SW but made the mistake of taking the wife with me who fell in love with the 408 so ended up driving that one instead (hybrid version) and was well impressed so much so have ordered the 1.2 petrol GT - as you say should be enough power in every day driving I can remember from driving my old ' tuned up' mini that 100 BHP per tonne is enough and this car has roughly that so happy days and Happy Wife 🙂
I like it,I have an old 3008 and I love it,one day I would may be like used 408 but not so much keen on 1.2 engine, but if maintained properly should last long time. :)
Looks great and practical, love the quirky French styling. I just can’t quite get how a 1.2 petrol is powerful enough in such a big car. I need to test drive one.
I love the wheels on this. It reminds me of the very short lived Acura ZDX in overall shape, but Urus and X4 in its rear 3/4 particularly in the taillights. Great review Rodie!
Test drove the 1.2 gt and loved it, and it falls under the 40k even with extras, just cant decide on the blue or black? Love the blue but the black hides. The back bumper better, which would be your choice? Great channel.
When I was 4, my father bought me a little steering wheel, so I could ‘drive’ along whilst strapped into the rear seats. Good to see that somebody in the Peugeot interior design team has been looking at their old 35mm home movies… Flippancy aside, quite like the look of that.
Just ordered a 1.2 GT in red, took the 180 for a test drive, handled very nicely, plenty of room in there, am replacing my 2021 3008 Hybrid4 with this as really you need to examine if you do the sort of driving that requires a hybrid to start with (I love they Hybrid 4 but any journey over 50 miles and it really isn't worth the effort for being greener and the VED is £510 per year due to it being above a list price of £40k), the 1.2 is on the other hand, more than enough as long as you don't expect to be a boy racer in it.
After a 5 month wait I've just taken delivery of my petrol GT in blue and I absolutely love it . I was tempted to get the hybrid but found it hard to justify the additional cost for just 20 miles range so I bought the electric leather seat pack and 360 camera system instead.
@@TimRodieDrivesStuff If you and William hadn’t been punching him so much, he might not have felt the need to select his wife off the tele and none of this would have happened 😂
@@pauladams5673 it would make more sense if they had released the e408 ( before the e3008) by now instead of waiting another year for the electric version! The car had already been out for almost a year. I think they bit slow with introducing electric models compared to other car manufacturers. I have 508 phev but I don’t think there an electric version yet. Thanks for the feedback.
Hello from Croatia! I'm driving 407 SW from 2005., I'm the first owner. I was about to buy a brand new 308 SW but they said I should wait about 7-10 months. I said no way I will wait so long and I bought 508 SW GT 2021. year with 20k km. It looks new, it feels new and I'm in love with him😀 Have a nice day!😉
@@mustang7845 Congrats! 408 is stunning. What engine does your 408 have? I know that there is no diesel 408, only 1.2 petrol and hybrids. I'm very much satisfied with my 508 but I wish it was 2.0 hdi instead of 1.5. But its fine anyways
@@TimRodieDrivesStuff I hear them I hear that the Citroen is softer and a bigger car than the 408, and I would suspect that Peugeot will want to more premium than Citroen and Vauxhall. Still both nice cars.
Mais pourquoi is Peugeot so flipping slow to bring out fully electric cars? Tesla, Volvo (yes Volvo), Toyota and the Koreans have been producing them in droves already. Even Renault have loads of fully electric versions. Mais Peugeot - nut points? Don't see the point in hybrid as if you're gonna lug a battery around, why only have 40 miles of green range? Seems like the worst of all worlds. I'm still smoking the world up in my (gorgeous) 308 GT 2l diesel. Would be nice to move to the 408 but will only do so when I can do so fully electrique with a decent (400 miles plus) range...

It's just a shame the 1.2 sounds like a dihatsu charade under hard acceleration
Got my obsession blue GT yesterday. Simply the best car I've driven. Unreal looking inside and out. Amazing.

Enjoy it when it arrives!

Love it. Would love a 2 litre diesel more though 😬 or even a self charging hybrid
I'm quite a fan of the French wheels and pronounced rear bumper.
You can select e-save from the menu which will self charge the car when you are driving but you will lose fuel consumption.
I have the 408 GT 225 on order can't wait to get it,
2 litre diesel, oh my, I had the previous 508 sw with that engine, and I still regret getting rid of the car due to ulez.

I have the petrol 1.2 GT arriving in the next couple of weeks, in the same colour !
Give it a big glass sunroof to brighten up inside and it’s spot on.
Optional extra :)
I was tempted but at £900 i went for the leather seats instead
It’s available as an option.
Simply gorgeous

Just ordered my 2024 petrol 408 GT in white. They’ve stopped doing the pearlescent paint in white btw. Can’t wait
