Great video Gene. I've learned a lot watching your quality and informative videos over the past few years. Thank you for sharing your wealth of Bass fishing knowledge with us!
Out of all of the years you’ve been fishing, it is amazing to see you get super excited for a TANK! Good job man. Been watching your content for a while now. Keep at it. I will definitely be testing out the Tokyo Rig!
Wife and I keep coming back to you for your knowledge and entertainment...we just don’t comment a lot...we enjoy your channel and all of your content...
Thanks for the added info on worm fishing! Have been using this technique for a couple of weeks and caught atleast 10 this way thanks FM🎣
Great video, loved the excitement and Tokyo Rig added to my list to try for sure now.
Fluke you are definitely the cure for the winter fishing blues. What a day on the water for you. 7lber?!? Awesome info and watching your reactions is what its all about!
Always ready to learn from Flukemaster 🎣
Such a unique presentation, digging it! We always called it "the punch rig" awesome content Gene!! Best channel on UA-cam! Very sincere and genuine, keep it up flukemaster, you da man!!!
Awesome day for you. Iwas already using the modified version you talked about. Truely has it's place in my box.
That is awesome! After I watched a couple other videos about this Tokyo Rig I decided to see if I could make one myself. I actually had of of materials and ended up building 4 of them that are as near as you can get to the actual VM version. Can't wait to get out there and give them a try. After watching this video, I am really stoked about the possibilities. Thanks Flukemaster.
Well that was fun to watch. Thank you sir. Appreciate the excitement.
Its good to see you truly having fun and the true key to catching big fish is to show them something they haven't seen before 😎
Love to see you so pumped Gene. Spread the goodness!
Great video FM. I just made one of these the other day and haven't had a chance to tie it on yet. Look forward to giving it a shot
Great stuff!!! Will be putting that rig to the test here in central Texas.
Favorite part of the vid was watching you get all giddy catching that 7lbs. Thanx for sharing Mr. Jensen always enjoy your vids.
Good golly!!! An over 7 pounder! Amazing footage you have there Gene. And a delight to have watched! Cheers
Great video gene! Awesome catches! Looks gorgeous down in florida
Awesome video, nice catch, thanks for the tips, I’m gonna start using this right away 😊
Ill never get tired of watching Fluke catch big fish
Some chunks there gene. Thanks for the info on Tokyo rig. I fish a lot of ponds out of the yak up here in savannah. Will deffinently have to add it to my arsenal.
Amazing fish! I am definitely going to have to try this rig!
Wow nice catch! Must make up a couple of these rigs.
I have a lot of soft bottom lakes around me. I'll be looking for these now knowing what the do!
I bought the rig to try and fish deep grass when they are not hitting the chatter and clicked your video just to see how your useing it and you got me excited!
Awesome info, great video and beautiful lake!
Ike presents this Tokyo Rig but never used in the lake but Fluke you killing it that was a blast 🔥 video man !!!
Great video as usual. These rigs are easy enough to make on your own so you can use heavier wire hooks. I do really like your idea of using the 2 bullet weights facing opposite directions. I'll be making up some this afternoon.
Love it! I'll have to give it a try on my next jaunt to Fellsmere! Thanks for the great video Gene!
Thanks Thomas
Awesome catches!! You're videos are getting me thru the winter. I've learned a lot. Sister fishin' gal here! Merry Christmas!
Nice I fish ponds a lot so I’m going to put this in my arsenal. Awesome fish congrats 🔥🔥😊
Awesome fish, amazing video, thanks Gene
Great video Fluke! Havent seen you get that jacked up in a while!!!
👏👏👏👏👏 Great catch Gene! Love it! 👍👊
Nice job, can’t wait to try it
Great video gene, Awesome catches...
Great video, my son who is 7 loves to watch these!!
Thanks, you remain a great teacher!
Crazy catch. Love that you had on video too!
That sure shows the rig works! Nice fish man!
Really hard to get so I made my own. Some with a drop shot hook for nose hooking a finesse worm. Great fish 🐟
I haven't tried the Tokyo Rig yet but I made my own because it gives you the freedom to change out hooks and you can make it the way you want. But great video cause I didn't know how I should fish it.
wow your the man!🎣 I'm going to try it out.👍
@flukemaster you have to make your way to the Potomac river in the spring ..these tidal water fish are great. I'd love to show you around the river
Just stopping by gene my guy. Much love and thank you
Wow. Just bought this rig and wasn't sure what rod/set up to put it on and I, by chance, have that exact rod and reel haha thanks
Beautiful catches!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Gene, Alex Rudd has a good video on how to easily make your own Tokyo rigs which allows one to swap out the hooks and use whatever you like. Any congrats on that 7 lber!
Well dang ..... that’s definitely got my interest peaked now!!!!!!
All i know is that I just got done making my own (made with a trokar hook) and I tell you what, I'm super excited to see what happens this weekend.
Sweet day of fishing Gene!
Been making and fishing this rig for years. Very effective rig. Not sure when they changed the name to the Tokyo rig but it was called the “jika” (zeeka) rig. Just use 2 small split rings, one through the eye of the hook and then take a drops shot weight and connect it to the other split ring.
Got dawg man!! You had a good time with that rig!
Catching a Hawg while fishing with the Tokyo Rig is a good way to promote a product, thanks for the video
Dude, I AM SOLD! Damn Gene, that flat out catches the snot out of some toads! Great job bud! Many thanks
Fantastic video !!
Wow. Awesome video. Every second !
Awesome catches
Wow. What a video.... that’s awesome Gene... I bought a couple packs and haven’t gotten around to using them yet. I’m frozen up now but in the spring I’ll be tossing these around
Thanks Jerry
Nice! Love the bonus fish!
Your a beast bro! Thanks for the helpful tips!
That's a score-able bass - nice job.
Great video!
Great video gene!
Good fising tips .. my friend
Great fish! Great video!
Great video ..Flukemaster, toads.. I bet that was a lot of fun..
I've never in my life seen any bass that fat let alone a seven pound one. My goodness man, this is the first video I came across for the Tokyo rig an the reason why is a kid I fish with and pay him for lures he find along the bank have me it since I give him baits and advice all the time. Great video man thanks for sharing!
Those were two truly awesome big fat bass ya caught on that Tokyo rig! Congrats!! I stumbled upon that rig on Amazon as I’m always searching for ways to try new fishing techniques since I’m essentially a beginner when it comes to fishing artificial baits of any kind. I live on a brackish water canal where we have everything from bass to crappie to bream/bluegills which obviously are freshwater critters. PLUS we get saltwater critters from Mullet to Tilapia to Blue Claw Crabs! Ever catch an Armored Sailfish Catfish? I have a ‘family’ of five living near my plastic pier type thing I made from plastic shelving and anchored in the water at the bank in my backyard.
So much variety ALL existing at the same time in the same canal water!! The only clue to what might be biting is the water temperature. Right now it’s slow going with the saltwater fish, but it’s kickin’ butt with all the bass, crappie, and monster size bream/bluegills. Too bad we’re so far inland we don’t get any striped bass here. However, we also have a few resident 6’ alligators, 20+ lb snapping turtles, 25+ lb Alligator Snapping turtles and monster 30+ lb Mud Turtles who love nearly all the live bait such as worms, etc. plus we can use nearly ANY human food that will hold up on a hook to catch almost any of the various fish species here. And my personal favorite thing I never knew would work...Dry Cat food in a 1/2 gallon chum bucket brings ALL the critters except the alligator (thank god...LOL) in about an hour at this time of year when the water is in the mid 60s to less than ten minutes in the summer when the water is almost 90 degrees. I’m guessing other must know about cat food as chum, but I’ve never seen a video regarding chum that mentions anything about cat food. If you’ve not tried it for those without boats, kayaks, etc. and are stuck fishing from the bank...I strongly suggest giving it a try and see how it will bring any fish or other aquatic critters fight to where you are for those of us who don’t have the ability to go to places with fishing spots like seen in this video.
Perhaps I’ll invest in a decent GoPro body cam and make videos of the fishing I know how to do with live bait and other human edibles, plus how I’m learning from videos like this how to become a better artificial bait/lure fisherman. People here were blown away with a 2.5lb bass I caught. I as well as all here would likely pass out from excitement if me or anyone else caught a bass even close to your two monsters! LOL. Keep on fishing!!
Okay Gene, I think you convinced me this rig is worth a try! 😂😂
Holy cow! That fish was a BEAST!!!! Awesome stuff.
Thank you Nathan
My heart was pounding when I saw you hooking these monsters.... heard about the Tokyo rig trying it this weekend of opening bass season in upstate ny, hosting my first tournament of the year... Angler Addicts on Facebook. Let you know how it went, posted my first New fishing you tube video too last week. Going to video all my tournaments. Your an inspiration brother. Tight lines. Love the video, love Florida freshwater fishing too.
Interesting rig. I like a football weight and a swimbait or rage bug on it. Slow reeled.
Nice video brotha! Love the excitement when you land a big girl!! Just lets me know this thing we do never gets old!!
Thanks man. It was the best day of fishing that I've had in a very long time. My reaction was all the stress leaving.
Great video. I went out today and got skunked. Nice tanks at the end! Any advice for a slow moving river this time of year with 55-60 degree water temps?
I just got me some to try in the swamp, everything is soft bottom where i fish, i may have to try longer leader
Your the first one I've seen do the Tokyo rig. I've haven't had the chance to try it .
Going to BPS on Friday, guess what just got added to the top of the list😁
Congrats Gene......It doesn't get any better than that. I'm jealous. Good job.
Thank you Ken
Gene, PLEASE, I am anxiously awaiting a video on you molding your own weights. It is winter. Perfect time to be doing it. I appreciate all your videos.
I almost did one two days ago but it was raining and my barn has a tin roof. It was too loud to film. I am going to film it this week.
Nice rig gotta give it a shot
Welcome to Florida! That spot is a freakin drive for me, but I got an even juicer spot in the glades where I killed my expensive camera. It was worth it.
Wow that was awesome!
Never considered the soft bottom like that! Good stuff
That’s was a awesome bass man👍👌
Gene That was Awesome.....
Ppl give that rig a lot of grief bc manufacturers started making them...but like you said ppl have been using that setup for awhile and it does work. Ppl bad mouth it bc of the price. I am making my own with owner materials. Might start selling them on craigslist for half the price of vmc and make some money.
Great work Gene!
Very fun to watch. That was a trip hearing the guys in the motorized hang gliders that were on Old Lady Angler's video on the same day. Congratulations!
If I would have known that she was there I would have made it a point to meet her. I love her videos.
Flukemaster Well now she's telling me that it was the day before. But I remembered you saying you were making the Tokyo Rig video on a day I thought she was there. Well y'all nearly crossed paths for sure. The funny thing is I was just telling her that the Tokyo Rig was really working for me here pond fishing in Austin. Thank you for all you do and whatever you do don't let hateful people leave you holding their self hatred. As a therapist I constantly helping people shake that off. I appreciate your willingness to talk about your depression. You rule dude.
@@Flukemaster Ditto! I was bummed to hear you were there the day before I was! Let me know when you plan to go back. Would love to meet you. Your channel played a HUGE part in teaching me to catch Bass! Tight lines!
I will be going down for a few days right after the KBF Ten tournament at Bienville.
Was this the rig you alluded to along time ago, saying they showed it to you but you couldn’t talk about it?? 😮 awesome content!!!!
Ok Gene, you’ve convinced me to try Tokyo rig! Lol
You could buy some closed loop end wire from lure parts online and make your own rig. I bought two different gauges (25 pieces in each pack) for $10 shipped
Great video! Catching big fish and wearing shorts. Could not be more jealous!
I personally recommend taking a small piece of black heat shrink tubing and putting it down were you bent that wire and that not only ensures that your weights won’t come off it also makes it come through lily pads and grass extra well in my experience hope this helps.
Thanks Gene for this instructional how-to on the Tokyo Rig. Didn't really appreciate the last 4 mins of it though as almost all of our lakes up north here have frozen over. 😔😔😔
Well..theres a video for icefishing and also on weather which will explain to yankees that dont know how cold freezes water and to expect that with constant temps below 32° farenheit
Awesome video! Gotta admit I’m a little jealous of all those big fish! If you don’t mind me asking, what fluorocarbon do you use?
Looks like you had a good day.👍🏻
Nice fish brother!!
I got some Tokyo Rig hooks today and, as always, I came to Gene to find out how to use them. Farm pond in the backyard with some monsters in it. Here I come!
