My 11 year old daughter has always loved to fish but only wanted to catch pan fish or catfish. She basically just wanted to use live bait and wait for a bite. I talked her into trying a Bandito Bug once though and she tore the bass up all day long. Now all she wants to do is catch bass with her little Texas rigged “scorpion” bait!
lol sounds like my wife. She calls all her creature baits and rubber craws "My little man" and will say "oh darn something bit off one of my little man's legs" when an appendage gets bitten off.
I absolutely kill it with a Bandito Bug! Didn’t know Scott designed it. If you don’t have a Bandito Bug on your boat I don’t know what you are doing with your life!
I literally just started watching videos to help me learn to fish (My husband thinks it's boring) LOL. Unfortunately, I never really learned and now I'm 53 years old. I want to learn more for retirement! So for now, I'll be watching you and your daughter Hillary. Thank you both :)
Scott I love your channel. Been a fan of the Martin Family fishing since i was a kid watching your dad on Saturday and Sunday. I love the tutorial sessions. I moved from Georgia to the PacNorthwest WA. Your tutorials helped me apply concepts up here too. Solid stuff. Thank you.
Gonna throw out a little secret rigging these when the bite is tough. Ditch the bullet weight and tie on a weighted swimbait hook. The screwlock ones work the best. You can throw them in the deepest cover up shallow and not have to worry about it getting hung up.
Around here in PA, green pumpkin works great. A lot of dingy water. So I got with a black/blue trailer. Have had success with a green pumpkin jig, black trailer but rip off a chartreuse chunk of a senko and put it at the top of the hook to add brightness. A lot of hook ups.
I live in Louisiana, you ain’t lying about the bandito bug, a lot of times I’ll just put it on a hook, I’ve caught more fish like that this year then any other way
i could watch scott martin all day and not be bored. There's so much I've learned by watching scott martin , 1 thing i learned by watching scott martin is that every day that its overcast weather makes me want to cast the spinnerbait out guns blazin , the 2nd thing i learned from watching scott martin is the activity and depth of the bass during the 4 seasons and the baits to use to slay the bass during the 4 seasons.
Found myself running out of saucy swimmers the other day on a top water massacre. Thought my day was over till I looked in my bag and seen that I had a pack of bandito bugs. Work fantastically for getting me back into the top water action.
Thanks for the tips it helps a lot when you only have a few rod and reels! Looking forward for the next video on some more tips. A big shout out to Matt and Scott on the Classic it was great it came to Fort Worth loved it.
Great concept “Back to Basics “ love it love your vids! Over the years my go to color is Junebug I have all the confidence in this color whether I am drop shotting , Texas rigging or pulling a speed worm when I am not catching anything with other colors I always put on Junebug and I always get something in the boat! Thank you and keep up the good work!
Normally I'd call this a shill video, but I've watched enough (well, not enough yet) videos of yours, and seen you use a lot of these baits. It's cool that you have sponsors as well because I want to see a lot more of your videos. I need to get back out there myself. Thanks for your reviews Scott.
I love the Bandito Bug, and the Jr. I caught several 6 lb plus fish on them, Texas Rig, and Swim Jig Trailer. My go to color is the Green Pumpkin/ Purple, or Junebug, in stained water, with the sun peeking through, Okeechobee Craw, and Black and Blue...
The bandito really is a great bait...also love the rattling ned...green pumpkin gets it done on my lower reservoir lakes with a little chartreuse dye on the tips
The bandito bug is killer. I just bought my first pack last week and I killed them on a texas rig (flipping trees) with it and as a jig trailer. The only downside is how soft it is. One fish and it tears up. But I know the softer it is, the more action you get and it has a ton of action.
Hey Scott as part of this Back to Basics series, you made mention of how to pick the right fishing line. Could you also go into matching the line to the fishing reel/rod as well as the right way to put line on a baitcast/spinning reel?
I LOVE fishing a top water bandito bug. It gives an amazing action. You are the first UA-camr that I have heard actually say it. PSA- keep the back legs attached.
I'd like to hear some info on what to do when you're fishing a tidal fishery and the bite just isn't there. Is it just a timing deal or are there places you can go or baits you can throw and really get on em?
First ans foremost i appreciate your back to basics video... well every video series you make. I'm a struggling beginner kayak saltwater angler and am having trouble figuring out how to break down my fishery And finding the fish I know are there. Any advice?
Green pumpkin/purple fer sher. Idk if it's a newer color but just starting to see up in MI just recently. Love Em. Got me 4 keepers in a 3 hr derby with a huge cull in the last 30 mins
Green pumpkin with red flakes is my go to doesn’t really matter what soft bait I use I always seem to catch a lot of fish with that color combo where I live. Awesome videos man I like how you don’t try to push certain brands on us like other channels I’ve seen.
This is just the video I needed right now thank you Scott. I really enjoyed meeting you guys at the Expo I hope I get the opportunity again soon keep it up bud.
Scott, my favorite was always the Rage Craw but I bought some Bandito Bugs because of watching you with them and they are without a doubt my favorite now! Not even a close second! You did awesome designing these and I use the almost daily
I am in no way anything by marketing. I tried something that I watched him catch fish on and it works really good here on Lake Guntersville so mind your own damn business
Green pumpkin blue is my favorite for any bait dip the tail in some chartreuse and it look just like a bluegill I love doing that with the saucey swimmer
Thanks Again Scott, Bandito always comes through for me. Picked up from you years back and it keeps performing. Wonder if the scent has anything to do with it. Hard to put it down in many conditions
I have all the googan baits n multiple colors. The new green pumpkin purple works great and the new sprayed lettice color is dope too. I have different favorite colors depending on which bait.
One thing for sure. You can always find Googan baits. The bandito flat catches fish and is extremely versatile. Googan should offer it in a magnum size.
Hello Scott, what size magworm hook for the bandito bug? organizer decked system is really nice.I wish i have that.Great video! and i believe you will win 5 bassmaster champions.
Great Video,Thank you.. Yesterday Was my 1st time fishing the Bandito Bug and it wprked great,I cant wait to hit up Fast Break Tackle shop for more. Scott You asked for are favorite colors and mine is Watermelon Gold glitter if Googan Baits could do that Combination it would be nice,if not I really like the sprayed lettuce googan makes.
I use the heck out of creature baits where I live. Magic craw swirl from reaction innovations is my fav color. We have a lot of dark water here. Not dirty just dark and it crushes it.
I know here in Ohio when i throw jigs i have the most success with a black and blue football jig and a green pumpkin craw. Idk why that color combo works but the bass around southern Ohio love it
Only 17 Lb line for flipping? When is the switch over to heavy braid? Jw. I'm in Bradenton Fl, fish Okeechobee alot, but I thought braid was used mainly in flipping. Thanks! Great content and channel, fresh or salt.
Just nabbed a buy 3 Googan baits get one free at Field and Stream. Love the Revolver, and the Click baits. Bandito bug is my favorite punching/ flipping bait. My only complaint is, it’s hard to tell the colors of soft plastics in the store, due to the packaging. And could use some lighter colors other than white. Otherwise...great baits!
Love the how to rig, or instructional Vids. Always seem to use them. 👊🏻
👊🏼👊🏼
Such a good series

I love the Alabama craw color. Matches the craw fish here on the Coosa Chain to perfection!

Green pumpkin purple or plum are go-to colors in the slightly stained to clearish green water we have here in North Georgia.
I used it on a shakey head this summer and was killing them on it!
why are your line suggestions so much more dainty than power fishing suggestions? Love the trench hawg* and bandito bugs, love watching you compete

Green pumpkin, black/blue, watermelon red, junebug are my colors I use most of the time.
Got my Bandito Bug! Only thing that worked last week up here in Ohio! Thanks Scott.

i always had luck with the bandito bugs by itself on a Texas/Carolina rig or as a trailer
