You put the tiger stripes on wrong! They're supposed to run across the short dimension, to break up the length of the object into visually smaller pieces... It looks good the way you did it, but doesn't hide the outline of the rifle AT ALL. They're going the right way for the magazine tho', so there is that. [A non-issue for those of us behind the Granola Curtain tho', w/ our 10-rd'ers... :-p ]
You're literally an everyone's guide to understanding infantry and weapons. Professional, engaging, and informative. The marines are lucky to have you and so it this country. Btw, nice paint job.
Painted my first gun last year, a cheap shotgun. Had several people offer to buy it or wanted me to paint theirs. Just took my time and it came out great. That being said, your paint job turned out amazing! Great job
Pro tip: start spraying off the target and carry across, stop spraying off the target on the other side. Starts & stops are where most of the (too much) extra paint gets laid down, leading to uneven coating.
From camouflage to informational and instructional you are one of the single best channels I have seen. Hardly anyone else matches this straight forward and honest content. You rarely ramble on and on. I have seen many draw inspiration from your content especially the camouflage effectiveness but few have been able to mimic.
What I like very much, Sgt.Maj. , id that, You took the time to utilize a clean ,dry rag to police up any fine dirt and particles, as well as making sure that the barrel and the optics were not accidentally spray painted over. Semper Fidelis, Brent Downing, Xcellent Paint Job.🇺🇸🦅🌎⚓
Great idea to have these various patterns to work with and also if you want to get creative mix and match for something truly unique for you and your weapon. Great pattern and work as always.
I just think all of those spray colors basically look black at about 25 yards....that’s why you use the following colors: Dark Taupe = Coyote Brown Italian Olive = Olive Green Chestnut brown = mud/dirt brown Khaki is khaki Army green = greenish khaki Testors model paint use Medium green for a better leaf green With the above colors you can make your own stencils from rite-in-the-rain paper...then blend the different colors to make multicam or any other camo. When I was active duty, we used sniper veils with tan as the base, then a brown and a green. That’s it. The colors blended very well. Semper Fi USMC / Retired
Using stencils is not easy. Really nice job! Good mix of colors too. I have several rifles that will be done this summer. I’ll be using templates and lacquer paint. With a clear over. Hope mine turns out as well as yours did.
You should check out krylon camo paint. Particularly their woodland green. It's a little brighter than the green you would find on M81 woodland. Also rustoleum flat brown primer is an excellent brown.
Scout Master will be pleased with your work. Your weapon turned out really nice with the help of those stencils and the colors used. Great video as always. Love that Greek Lizard pattern, but not before Tiger Stripe what we love and cherish.

Yeah man, there is nothing wrong with rattle can. Dimitri told me a funny joke when I was out with him in the desert last year. He said the U.S. spent millions of dollars trying to engineer and develop a pen that could be used by astronauts to write up in space. The Soviets just used a pencil.
