By far the best home-rattle can paint job on UA-cam. The dish soap method gives very good results combined with a conservative approach to laying paint on. In turn Coupled with the fact that your colour choice was as good as it gets. it has a nice high end finish too it. I’d be proud of the end result. 👍
Thank you!!!
@@3KindsOfGuns How well does the paint stay on long term?
I have had it turn out pretty well but your method is so awesome I’d be outside doing it if there wasn’t a ft of snow out there can’t wait until it warms up your paint job really turned out so awesome!!
Lasts well because I baked it on.
Bro, that is probably the sickest back yard paint job I have seen. Very ballzie, but damn the final product looks legit AF. Well done.
Thanks! I will be doing my 12 gauge AK soon!
I paint a lot of rifles , interesting concept using the dish soap like a "liquid stencil " , most people don't realize that for good camo effect, that the different colors must break all the edges of the rifle to break the outline or silhouette. The dish soap does a great job of breaking the edges by flowing over them. I do exact matches of military camo's tiger stripe , marpat , multicam etc.
Another quick concept I have used is Sea Sponge Camo ! You just paint a base coat and then use pieces of cut sea sponge to dob on different colors of paint, each cut of the sea sponge gives a slightly different pattern for each color . Be sure to blot the sea sponge on something between dipping it in the paint and transferring it to the rifle so no paint runs. It's a great method for getting the colors and pattern exactly where you want them. WARNING ! Painting camo is addictive " none of my rifles are black anymore " and all my shooting buddies are jealous .
I need to try the sea sponge method! Video to follow!
Addicting for sure. Not to mention fun.
I painted all 17 of my BB Guns....all different...One custom for my Daughter...she picked 3 colors, Pink, Purple, and Gold...I don't think you can go wrong
Try sea sponge soap. Same method/concept as this but different result.
Are you pulling my leg ,L.O.L !
Been rattle canning my rifles for years, and I'm pretty good at it. Never seen this technique before. Very slick and I'm impressed. I freely admit I will be doing this next time. 😆
I was very impressed with the results as well, that was my first time!
If you have worked in a body shop, I've seen Dawn used before, spread out on windshields and body panel to prevent overspray from sticking, then run it through the wash station after curing.
Neat!
Hands down the best rattle can job I've seen on the Tube
Thank you! Please like, subscribe and post it on all your social media. Helps my channel grow!
I've been studying videos. On painting my AR 9mm this is the best one yet. Thanks ✌
Thanks!
I was skeptical at first, but I really liked the end result quite a bit, that's a useful technique that could be applied to a lot of different projects, motorcycles, dirt bike, old toolbox.
You earned a sub.
😀
Thank you!
Hands down the best DIY paint job on UA-cam. I am going to have to give it a try.
Thank you! Enjoy the process! Send me a picture on Facebook at 3KOG via messenger and I will post your results!
The results look absolutely amazing! Well done.
Thanks!
Definitely using this method for my SPR. Thanks for the tips.
Happy to help!
Used this method this past weekend on an AR-10 build and I could not be happier with the results! Thank you for showing us how to do this.
Awesome!
DUDE! That dish soap method works awesome for Tiger Stripe pattern! Simple, easy, cheap & versatile methods. I was already happy as hell with what he did 3/4 way through.
Thanks!
some one agrees with my opinion...
planning to soap tiger AR using your style, but not the final step.
new subscriber.
@@noretreat151 yup I also preferred the first coat
Same here, he did a great job tho
Why did you like the first coat more?
I've been up for the last 3hrs watching videos on this and this is by far the coolest and most simplistic breakdown on the topic!! Thank you so much for the knowledge!!
Your welcome! Hope your project turn out good!!
Definitely love the tiger stripe look. I did the sponge method on my first gpr which gave it a digital camo look. I'm gonna use this method on my spr for the tiger stripe drip.
I've never done the sponge method before.
I am amazed. That is about the coolest camo pattern I've ever seen. AWESOME!!!!!!!
Thank you very much!
All that sweet paint with a bonus gun cleaning instructional packed in. Nice
Thank you!!
Turned out better than I thought! Nice work!
Thanks!!
Very nice result, congratulations! I even liked the first coat better, but the second coat is also awesome!
Thank you! I was torn on if to do a second coat, and I was happy with the results.
Out of all the ways I've seen guns painted, this is by far one of the best results I've seen.
Thank you!!
I’ve recently received two…
I followed your directions.. and it worked easily. Thank you
Awesome!!!
Send me pictures on Facebook, I would love to share them!
3KOG on facebook!
Yeah, so that came out seriously awesome!
Thank you!!!
That looks amazing! Nice work!
Thanks!
Awesome results! It looks really good and I’m just halfway through!
Thanks!
Looks great! I use various mesh fabrics, a metal hex mesh and craft store leaves. All stuff that I acquire from my wife's craft area.
I use a matte clear over every thing at the end to keep the paint durable.
My first project that I did as a test as held up really well. It's been on there for 8 years and gets well used. It's a Daisy Red Ryder, of course.
The amount of stuff I have stolen from my wife's crafts to paint guns is pretty amazing!
It came out really good. Awesome concept.
Well done Brother
Thank you!!
I thought I had seen it all. Absolutely genius and amazing results
Thanks, I'm very happy with the results, and will be doing more soon!
Thanks for your pretty slick painting tips - take care and try to stay out of trouble!!
Thanks, you too!
WOW!! I gotta tell you. I have seen many camo vids. THIS IS THE BEST! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Appreciate the feedback!
@@3KindsOfGuns Keep it up! I sub'd.
@@hoofgripweightlifting6872 thanks!!!
I wasn't sure how this was going to work out but got to say this is one of the best, if not the best DIY rifle paint jobs I've seen. 😎
Thank you very much!!
Outstanding!! Love the finished look!
Thanks!
I like how simple this is and pattern looks amazing. Will give this a go on my ground pod base
Thanks! And good luck! I need to do another one!
The whole process is slick and the finished product is as cool as I’ve seen and better than most.
Using the drywall tape instead of burlap or similar is way better imo. You could probably do a similar process using leaves and less striping for a woodland camo design too
Yup, thanks, I am very happy with how it came out!
Dude this is sick. Nice job
Thank you!
that looks incredible
Thanks!!
Wow, great technique gives total random pattern. Love it. Will try on my next paint job.
Thanks, good luck on your project.
Came out great!
Thank you!!! I was super excited to try it out, and am very happy with the results.
Interesting technique, I like the end result. The drywall tape works really well, I've also seen similar done with a mesh laundry bag.
Nice pattern!
Yup, and the only reason I didn't use a laundry bag, is that I didn't have one laying around.
@@3KindsOfGuns In any event, the pattern came out awesome! I'm probably going to do a similar scheme to my AR-9
How did it come out?
Never of this till now. Thanks; it’s awesome.
Thanks!!
Without question, one of the best home camo jobs on UA-cam.
Thank you, another one coming soon, I just ordered some new parts for a different build.
I love it! 😍👍🏽
Thanks!
That looks really good. I think I would have gone a little more tan and coyote brown with a lighter drab. Maybe even a dash of light stone grey in spots but ONLY because I live in a desert region so it makes more sense for me and my surroundings. I've seen this same dish soap technique used for sneakers before as well. Very effective method, nice job bro. A tip though to anyone else looking to paint like this, lighter more misty multiple coats of paint tend to take longer to wear off. 4-5 very light dusting coats for the base layer works well in my experience. Thick coats will chip off alot easier. Also, if your colors end up a little darker than you meant to paint, you can hit it all with a very light coat of matte clear at the end to lighten shades up a bit and get a small amount of added wear resistance as a bonus. PS Rust-Oleum tends to last I bit longer than krylon in my experience, bet.
Good advice. I'm doing another one soon with a different color scheme.
I love this technique and outcome! Nice job.
Thank you! 😊
just did this, incredible technique, simple enough for an idiot like me to do, and turned out looking great.
Awesome!! Feel free to hit me up on Facebook @3KOG. I'll share your end results if you are OK with it!
Damn. I never would have thought. Looks badass. Check in after a few months and a few hundred rounds with a vid too please
Of course! Thanks for watching!
Great job!
In Airsoft gun first we need put out the gearbox, electronics, hopup inner barrel ect..
I think what other than soap can I use 🤔
I was thinking the same thing. Let me know what you come up with...
If you can't use soap, I would just use a more traditional method, like how I did my Recce rifle.
@@3KindsOfGuns can you give me a link ?
Low temp hot glue. You could create the same patterns as with soap but instead of rinsing the gun you should be able to peel the glue right off.
Interesting, have you done that?
WOW! That is just sick looking! Incredible job done 😎👍
Thank you!
I've watched several vids on painting rifles but never actually done it myself. Your video has finally convinced me to try it
Good! You just have to get in there and try it!
You could always do a practice run on something like an old springer airsoft or bb/pellet gun.
Yup, could.
Bro sick Idea. Gonna steal one of my kids tomorrow and try it.🤣 if it comes out good I'll just say I knew it would. 🤣👍
How did it go?
America, where hobby lobby and guns meet
Yup!
Wow! Good job. Thanks for the demo. 👍
Thanks! And no problem!
Really nice work. Must try myself.
Thanks
Best looking DIY paint job I've seen.
Thank you! Please subscribe, I'm doing another one soon!
Best I've seen as a DIY job !
Thank you!!
That's hands down the best home job I've seen, Can't wait to give it a try. Great video man
Thanks, I'll be doing a new one soon on my new competition rifle.
So glad I stumbled upon your video. Absolutely the best hands down DIY camo I’ve ever seen. You are a Freggin master.
Thanks dude! Doing another one soon!
Using the soap is genius, very usefull.
Thanks, wish I could say I invented it!
Thank you so much for this video. I wanted to paint my rifle but wanted to do something different than the stencils. I painted mine today and it looks awesome! Thanks!!!
Awesome, send me pics on Facebook at 3KOG, and with your permission, I'll share them!
Best I've seen yet! Thanks man. I'm going to try that.
Thank you! Good luck!
I’m so glad I found this right before I was about to go at it and have it not look this good! Thanks
How did it turn out?
Wow. 😮 I wasn't to sure but now I'm going to get bottles of dish soap. Omg that came out Amazing
One bottle is all you need.
This is an absolutely slick method (pun not intended). I've looked at a number of options with stencils, etc. I'm gonna rock this method this weekend. Awesome job man !! It looks great !!!
Awesome dude!
That came out really good. The areas where you have the circles, lines and blotches interacting with eachother creates a really nice depth.
Thank you very much!!! That's why I disagree with the people that said it looked best after the first coat!
That turned out really cool! I like it!
Thanks!!
Nice job man. Broke all the sharp lines.
Thank you!
Came out great! If I ever gather the courage to paint mine I will use this method.
Do it!!!
Looks awesome im going to try that method
Let me know when you do!
That looks amazing
Thanks!!
very very cool, so far the best pattern I've seen so far.
Thank you!
First time I've been surprised. This is something different. So many people just make the same video. I think this is the first weapon painting video where I learned something.
Thank you very much! I I understand what you mean by saying a lot of things are just repeated. I appreciate your view!
That came out really good!
Thanks!!
Turned out really good!!!
Thanks!!
That is very clean, sir.
Thank you!
Im gonna do this too my military cucv truck. That came out absolutely sick... Great job Brother
Good luck. For whatever reason when I tried this method on a helmet, it didn't come out nearly as good.
I have done some killer paint jobs on quite a few guns , I got to try this , love it , excellent job 👍
Thank you! I was very happy with how it came out as well!
HOLY COW!!!! AWESOME!! Good Job!

That came out killer!! 🔥🔥
Yeah it did, I'm very happy with the results. Thanks for the compliment!

I followed this tutorial while painting my glock! Super thrilled that the results was so good! A little excess paint on a few spots but in all very good! Thanks for sharing!
Awesome!! Feel free to send me pictures on Facebook @ 3 kinds of guns. And with your permission, I will share them!
Did you clear after? If it's your edc, I don't think it will last long.

best DIY paint job on UA-cam
Thank you!!!
Yo! That is awesome! Just painted one of my Rifles couple weeks ago. Glad I held off on my others because I am definitely using this method! 👍💪✌
Great!!
Very awesome, I am gonna have to paint my gun for the first time and use the soap method.
Awesome, send me a pic @3kog on Facebook when you do, I have posted a couple of subscribers results!
Reminds me of tiger stripe camo. Awesome job, brother!
Thank you!!
I'm going to do my 450bm with this method (maybe not the lower receiver just incase I use it for something else). But the color and pattern you ended up with is perfect for me. It's a deer rifle.
