- Boat Sinking Haulover Inlet 2024
Baker's Haulover Inlet is a man-made channel in Miami-Dade County, Florida. It connects the northern end of Biscayne Bay with the Atlantic Ocean. The inlet was cut in 1925 through a narrow point in the sand between the cities of Bal Harbour and Sunny Isles.
The inlet entrance channel is 400 feet wide and 14 feet deep. It's dangerous to navigate because it features:
Sandbars
Rock walls
Strong tide currents
Gusty onshore winds
There is no speed limit at Haulover Inlet.

Is wavy boats your other channel?
No, great channel, cool guys, by the way.
Not to ask a dumb question but was he working on the bilge or fuel pump?
Fuel filters. Started loosing power as he came in the cut and it died right as he approached the bridge. We’ve had some wicked outgoing tides lately cause of all the rain and it sucked him out into the surf before help could arrive.
In order of importance:
Cut out transom
No working bilge pump apparent
Sea drive.
just sayin'
Put plug in boat
Bilge pumps were working when we towed it back to the ramp. Also had plug in. Had twin rule 2500’s, way oversized for that boat. Issue was open deck hatch to try and fix fuel problems. You can see the deck hatches floating away in video opening up entire bilge to water as the boat goes down.
The guy with the ski,clueless
The transom was modified
I had one with a removable door for following sea.
I always had it on, easy to remove.
should have immediately thrown anchor
