Big Dan... totally agree with your comments about ppl using the ramp to load their boat with coolers, fishing tackle, etc. The other super annoying boat ramp issue is someone that can't back their boat. For the love of everything that is holy, go to a school parking lot and practice backing up ur rig! Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance!
hello from the Trent Severn in Ontario Canada. we still miss boating and I were there I would shake your hand on your positive attitude and good humor.Good days to you and yours.
Hey Big Dan, greetings from Finland! Just wanted to say that I absolutely love your content! You always manage to brighten my day. Wishing you all the best and looking forward to what you have in store for us next! Keep up the amazing work! 🌟
1:08 he might not be used to going to that boat ramp. It looks like that boat ramp you do not have to go as deep as some of the other ones but like here in Buffalo New York some of our boat launches you have to get your tires wet to get the boat in the water. They rebuilt our main harbors ramps so its not so much there as it is the other older places that are not well kept. The lake also dropped more than 6 foot in my life time so some of the ramps are still set for there to be 6 more feet or water. There are some that just drop off and if you go an inch to far your axels on your trailer will drop off the ledge.
When my dad first bought the 1989 Sunbird for the family in 2005 we had to get towed in all the time. Then in 2007 we got it dialed in and the boat started to grow on me. Ever since having the fiberglass redone and rebuilding the engine with an upgraded carburetor, it’s been reliable. And I hope we never have to sell it. Also update on my JetSki why it was cavitating: trim seal gasket in my ride plate needs replacing, I sucked up eelgrass I just couldn’t see it unless I took apart, and impeller is chewed up hahaha. I’m not a hot dogger but I do ride this thing a lot and I ride on a pretty sketchy piece of the Tennessee River. Well my company is busy right now my next day off is May 3rd so I found a reasonable local mechanic who’s going to rebuild my pump and repitch my impeller. This guy is pretty well known too the local marine police have him work on their boats too. Keep up the great content and have a blessed day, -Stuart P.
Dan, Thank you for sharing the content you make, it makes my day go by more easily. I really appreciate. Do you know the type of boat (make) that is at 25:11 ? I would appreciate you or anyone's help. Thank you, God bless brother.
A trick I learned when backing up with a trailer is to hold your hand(s) at the very bottom of the steering wheel. You then move your hand(s) the direction you want the back of the trailer to go.
The good one that I witnessed was a recreational boat with 12 Mexicans pulled out the boat and parked in the staging area. Brought out a small grill and started blasting music! Really in the staging lane!
Amen on your perspective of our rights brother! At least we're all still out here fighting to conserve our rights. No matter, LOVE seeing so many people out and off their phones.
Dan the Buskins 29 was built by the captain Joe Buskins. He has a channel fishbump tv and documents the build. Amazing attention to detail on it. Performs well with just twin 150s on it.

He has a whole build series on his channel fish bump tv! Super detailed and informative videos on the boat build and boat repairs in general. Definitely a good channel to check out.
I know this sounds silly to the pros but the best trailering tutorial is so simple. When backing up straight, if you start seeing your boat in drivers mirror, turn wheel towards that mirror while backing, if you then see it in passenger mirror, turn wheel toward passenger mirror. This will keep boat straight.
You are so very true. Everybody wants to take our rights away. I love your show. I remember when orange Beach never had a boat ramp. Maybe I'll come down and see what it's like now. Keep up the good work.
You're lucky to be allowed to fly a drone there, some other ramp watches aren't allowed to due to it being a park. ;-) At 15:15; that's why you should have two engines so you're not embarrassed, being hauled back to port. ;-D
Lol, doublewide of the sea…never heard that one before! I can’t wait until that guy with the jet ski shows up again. I’d park the drone right above him. Why couldn’t he just say that was me, and lol, I should have backed in a little deeper. Life is too short to get upset over small stuff.
The double wide of the seas issue is the short wheel base vehicle and a long trailer. Same thing with Jeeps. The smaller vehicles have the hardest time backing the trailer. Can also go other way, long wheel base vehicle and short trailer.

Anyone who films or takes pictures from a place where the photographer has a legal right to be, the video/pics are completely legit. You do t need consent to film those in public,no matter their age or anything else... Now, a private entity can restrict you filming on their property. But if you're not on their property but filming their property, there's nothing they can say.
The thing about filming people is those from the baby boomer generation didn't film people without their consent. It was a courtesy thing. And filming children was a flat no no. Some people still feel this way. Times have changed, some good changes some bad changes. I still think filming children that aren't yours is off limits. Thanks. I leave most kids out unless it’s someone I know or unless it’s a subscriber that I’ve spoke to. Once their 18, alll bets are off. There is a lot of DUMB 18-25 year olds. Lol
Keep a can of WD40 in the boat and spray down your gun with it for the trip home. It is cheap and will protect it for the short term. I don’t use it for the final protection, I prefer Eezox but wd40 is cheap and perfect to soak it down for travel after a day in the salt marsh.

I've got to wonder - haven't some of these drivers ever thought of going to a large empty parking lot and PRACTICING backing the boat? At least until you learn which way to turn the steering wheel. And I'll also add my thanks for your speech on free speech.
What was so funny that pontoon boat that was towed in and it did not have no power did you all see the guy turning the stear the boat lol he was trying to ster that pontoon boat it doesn't matter what boat it is if the engine not running in gear and someone is towing you your steering wheel will do nothing to steer the boat lol. Such a huge wide open boat ramp. The ones I go to are a lot smaller and if you go crooked you hit a tree or other obstacle. Not everyone should own a boat.
Trying hard to think of something to video here locally. We do have some lakes, but it's very seasonal, and not much boat traffic. Best I could come up with would be filming the idiots at Ikea trying to fit huge boxe of unassembled furniture into their little hybrid cars. However, that's private property, and they'd most likely trespass me pretty quickly.
You can see why that guy at 16.24 had to get towed, he is struggling to steer the boat, which won't steer if he has no motor. Probably forgot to put gas in !
