My dad has a 2018 Titan pro 4X and tows a 6500 lb travel trailer and it does just fine. Get the pro-4x, you can't beat that a hundred thousand mile warranty either.
Get a Titan. I've had 3 now and my newest 2020 is an awesome truck. Past 2 got me well over 200k miles and a hard life. Nissan cars are garbage but the trucks are awesome.
I drove a 2007 Nissan Titan for 13 years bought it with 8 miles and eventually traded it in on a Raptor this year. I'll tell you this much, that Endurance V8 ran better and sounded better...than the 3.5L Ecoboost ... I'm not 100% sold on this 3.5L twin turbo. Funny because the Titan is always rated at the bottom of the stack but is still a very capable truck. In those 13 years all I ever did was change the water pump and radiator in terms of anything major. They're pretty damn good offroaders too its the only other truck I would consider besides my Raptor is another Pro4x.
Thank you all for purchasing the Nissan Titans. I work at the manufacturing facility where we produced these models! We try our best striving to do our best to produce great quality! The 2020 Titan model has improved tremendously and I hope you all enjoy it
No it won't. I work at a Nissan dealership as a technician and I see so many of the Titans & Armadas coming in with major engine issues and the upper oil pan leaking very much. We even needed to replace a few Titans with new engines with around 30k-40k miles. One of them had just 83 miles! Like I said on my post a few days ago. If you want a good looking truck in your driveway? Go and get one then
Why is it when someone mentions the horsepower of the 5.6 in the 2020 Titan, it is alway brought up that it requires premium fuel to achieve maximum 400 hp, but they never mention that when talking about the GM 6.2, which I’m told the manual states that it needs 93 octane?
@Regis Riley I own a 2018 Titan SL and it’s by no means underpowered. It’s rated a 390 hp and 394 ft.lbs. At least we can say that Nissan tells you what the hp and torque numbers are, while GM only says performance will be less on the 6.2 using regular unleaded.
“Premium unleaded gasolinemeeting ASTM specification D4814 with a posted octane rating of 93 - (R+M)/2 - is highly recommended for best performance and fueleconomy. Unleaded gasoline with an octane rated as low as 87 can be used. Using unleaded gasoline rated below 93 octane, however, will lead to reduced acceleration and fuel economy. If knocking occurs, use a gasoline rated at 93 octane as soon as possible, otherwise, the engine could be damaged.” This I understand is from the GM manual. It sounds like you may have no choice but to run 93 octane.
@@ronaldpoley4357 Pretty sure it's 91 octane according to the manual but I understand in many areas that will mean 93 anyways. Yes I do feel it should be mentioned that both Ford Ecoboost and GM 6.2L recommend 91+ for their rated power figures but are "safe" on 87. 5.0L and 5.3L rated and recommended on 87 in truck applications. Ram is also recommended at 89 (mid grade) for the 5.7L hemi and most people don't talk about that either. As a 5.7L owner its hard to tell any real difference between running 87 and 89 however. In my ecoboost truck I could notice quite distinctively when running 93 vs 87 on the stock tunes. 87 the truck was still very powerful but premium made an obvious difference in the turbo truck.
I'd buy the Nissan Titan, hands down! Those seats are great! and there's lot of 'beef' in that 5.6 engine too. Properly equipped, you get that great panoramic sun roof, which is great too, when you drive along, mostly for your passengers! Even without the great price advantages these days, the Titan brings really ;power AND value to it's owners. Good video Nathan,
The Titan is SUCH a good truck. Perhaps they would sell more if they advertised more. I would be pretty bummed if they let go of the Titan. Totally underrated.
I literally just test drove a 2020 XD and i can say that 9 speed really woke up that truck. I don't know how it will do towing but it moves nicely for such a heavy truck
I’ve had 2 Titans and they are absolutely solid trucks built to last, and Nissan would agree with me apparently otherwise they wouldn’t offer the best warranty in the market. Both of my titans were Pro4X’s and I have towed with both as a matter of fact I towed all my sister in laws household goods from Wisconsin to North Carolina pulling a fully loaded double axle trailer in the winter with ease. I have a 2018 now and I love it!!!!
I did and it's hands down an amazing truck, I checked out a Ram Rebel before buying the Titan. Titan had more standard features and a better price than the ram.
Just test drove the Titan Pro4x today. Sticker is $59790 and they offered to sell at $49,326 plus $500 in fees. Pros: No cylinder deactivation, no auto stall, good power, smooth transmission, good ride quality, well designed interior, nice V8 sound, very comfy seats, 100k warranty, sound system, good visibility. Cons: High seating position with not much headroom with sunroof(I am 5’ 10”), heavy steering, low quality camera resolution. I am currently driving a 17 GMC Sierra with 6.2 which I really like but have transmission issues which is somewhat better after fluid change but still not great and brakes are getting spongy at 66k miles.
I have a 2012 Nissan PRO 4X and I have had zero issues with my truck! The truck have great power and can tow my 21 foot Carvelle 187 with ease. I have taken it off road a couple times it did great!
The XD is excellent for towing and hauling. It's a much heavier truck and feels much more confident when towing and braking. Chances are that you will need more capacity in the future so I would go slightly bigger. Stay away from 2019 gasser with the 7 speed. But the 2016 to 2019 Cummins is an awesome combo and you can get some really good deals right now on that out going model. 2020s appear to be really good, but the jury is still out in that given its new. Oh and don't forget about that awesome Nissan warranty! Can't get that from GM.
I just bought the 2020 Titan pro4x. Baja sand color. Love the truck. Have had it for a month now and love the size, ride, power, and all the tech features. Was going to buy the Ram 1500 limited but Nissan had a great lease offer so I was able to get all the features I wanted on the Ram for $300 less a month.
@@jefferychambrovichjr6681 I'm not sure what the lease deal is on the XD but I'm sure it's the same promotion. I put $1500 down and pay $699 a month on a $60k pro4x. 48 month 10k miles a year. The Ram 1500 limited was almost $1k a month for the same terms and same features.
Leasing = renting.....it's insane how willing people are to fall into those traps just to try to keep up with the Jones'...or to try to be the Jones'...🙄😒
Have you noticed it being a little jerky coming to a stop? Mine feels like the transmission is doing something funky or the breaks arnt releasing properly
@@stupidrookie12 try pressure washing the break pads. Anything under 3k PSI should help. The first 1500 miles of mine the truck was wearing itself in. Everything felt stiff. I'm 5k in and it's finally feeling smooth and worked in.
Yep, alot nicer then other brands, i have had a 2005 and now a 2018. Very nice trucks and would always take a Nissan Titan over a Chevrolet. Gm garbage.....i have had 2 different years of Silverado....junk. On the Jatco comment, they are fine just no on the cvts.......i build transmissions among other things and a Titan with a Jatco will outlast any gm 4l60e. People don't be ignorant
Nathan, Thanks for the information. I don't understand why everyone is so concerned about rear axle gear ratios. You should be looking at the overall ratio including the transmission ratios. I have a 2004 Titan with a 3.357 ratio differential. It compares to a 4:11 ratio when you factor in the lower gear ratio of the transmission. Also, just an observation about your testing. Why does TFL always brake torque trucks when drag racing. As a daily driver, I don't know anyone who brake torques at every stop light. It is my opinion that a more fair (realistic) comparison would be to just mash the go pedal without brake torqueing. Keep up the good work, Thanks!
We do multiple tests before we shoot the race. We try to determine the fastest way to launch the trucks - (traction control on/off, 4WD on/off, launch control, ect.). Over the years, we've noticed that many, but not all, vehicles launch faster when brake torquing. I use it often, especially when I am in a large city, and need to merge at an on-ramp. Or drag racing.
HA.HA. GoodMeme I wished we had the time and bandwidth to show every launch style with each truck - but we can’t. Sometimes we do talk about the differences, especially if there’s a notable performance variation
If I’m at a stoplight and somebody pulls up next to me wanting to run, you can be damn sure I’ll be brake torqueing! After all, we are trying to see what it’ll do, right?
Kevin Barry it was on the 2016-2019 XD’s but only on the single cabs. The king cabs and crew cabs only came with the 6.5 bed. There was never an 8’ bed on the crew or king cabs. Remember, this a 3/4 ton truck frame on 1/2 ton axles. An 8’ bed and crew cab would be too much for the truck to carry any kind of payload.
Have to agree, I would probably go with the Titan Pro 4x. I like the new styling and I think you would have a better chance dealing on the price. Also agree with one of the below posts. Everyone always mentions premium with the new Titan but Chevrolet clearly states premium is required with the 6.2 or knock can occur. I think only fair to point that out if we are harping on the Nissan.
Very interesting comparison. If it was me I'd probably go with the Titan Pro 4X. It will tow a 6k trailer no problem, plus the price compared to a Chevy with the 6.2 is a no brainer. I have a buddy who works a a Nissan dealer and he said you can get a new Titan for dirt cheap right now. Not to mention the offroad capability of the Pro 4X.
XD also has upgraded brakes which is important. Also, the best warranty 5 year 100k miles. Seems like Jamal already has problems with a GM product. Why step on the same rake twice?
I was looking into the Tundra TRD PRO and I'm so glad I found this very underrated truck. You get so much more off-roading with the Nissan Titan Pro-4X. It provides off-roading tech and safety features that the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro doesn’t even begin to compete with.
I have the original 04. I've beat the hell out of it, I've had to replace some things I didn't think I should have to replace, but I've not once touched that engine. I still have it. That engine is absolutely bullet proof, and the power is ridiculous. So the other day I pulled the trigger on a lightly used 2017 Tundra double cab PRO. Well folks, I can tell you this. I'm going back to the Titan. Better mpg, better power, better seats, better stereo the list just goes on and on. The Tundra Pro looks amazing, and I'm sure its bullet proof as well, but damn, even with that fancy suspension the ride is as stiff if not stiffer than my Titan and the seats are rock hard.
I gave a 2017 pro 4x titan and tow a 6500 lbs travel trailer. The only negative I have encountered is cruise control while towing; it hunts for gears more than I would like. Hopefully the 2020 is better in that regard and my guess is that it should be with the 9 speed. When I replace my truck it will probably be another Titan
Make sure your dealer does the update on the trans tune. My old 17 was sluggish just starting from a stop. Seems like the trans was always a gear higher then it should be. After they tuned it i was happy. My 2019 Pro4x is flawless. Trans holds the shifts longer...i like that.
2018 xd sl midnight package w/ cummins. After two years the underbody has zero rust. 5 months with my f150 and it had plenty. Same with the ram and sierra. The only other truck that doesnt rust to piss right away has been the tundra. Now if you take care of them you're fine and it wont matter much, but for the price they ask for trucks these days...better undercoating on these things shouldn't be too much to ask.
Kane i have a 2014 F150, and underneath looks like it’s still brand new. It’s been under coated every year of it’s life sense it was new. It’s all in how you take care of them.
I’m enjoying my Nissan Titan. You can get great discounts now. But, it’s worth mentioning those discounts won’t be as dramatic for the 2020 Pro 4X package. It will still be a great value compared to the GM trucks.
I have no idea why, but Arizona and Nevada Nissan dealers have massive discounts on the Pro4X’s...we ended up buying one from out of state and having it shipped to California and saved like $10k from our local dealers. Good luck. We love our 2020 Pro4X
I have a 17 Titan single cab. I absolutely love my truck 80k miles now and so far so good. The only I’ve had was my own causing. I smashed the tailgate and broke the backup camera.
Owned about every truck maker and both my Chevy and Ford were great until they got around the 40k mark then started having all kinds of major issues. Chevrolet is one of the worst to deal with with warranty issues doesn’t really matter what dealership you go to their service sucks would never buy another. Nissan has the best warranty(100k) but pretty much looks like a Ford. No problems so far with my 2019 Titan drives great.
Thanks for putting out such amazing content, one of the best recommendation videos full of facts! Would like to see more of you on the channel. Stay safe!
Absolutely for the Titan Pro 4X! Fantastic trucks. I would go with a year older for the 7 speed transmission for reliability. Stay away from brand new transmissions.
trans is not new, it is same trans in Mercedes , 9 speeds, and been around for few years in Mercedes , its Mercedes trans built to Mercedes specs by Nissan , its a really good trans
Sadly....I agree. People who have made themselves financially leveraged are going to eat it big time in the next 6 months. Lots of guys that work hourly technical trade jobs, pay for their toys with overtime work. If they still have their job, it is highly likely they aren't getting much overtime.
Apart from everything Nathan said, the Titan just got a refresh on the exterior and interior. Pay from something that is new and will stay new for several years. The new model GM 1500s have the same interior as the previous generation, I’ll bet you that next year GM will introduce their 2022 1500s with same body style and complete different interior. So why pay for something that will be old in the next year or two ??
The XD actually has larger final gear ratio of 4.083:1 (versus 3.692:1 for TITAN) provides more torque at the wheels in a given gear and smoother and faster acceleration.
Assume that they need the Best All Around Truck. Measure range of full tank, payload, tow rating, off-road or 4 wheel features. What’s the best all round truck.
You are a good guy Nathan but why does TFL continue to talk about diff size like thats all that matters. The Titan had a more powerful end ratio at the wheels with a 2:94 diff 7speed transmission over a Tundra with a 4:30 diff and 6 speed transmission. Who cares about the diff size in the Titan? IT DOESNT MATTER. What is the end game at the wheels with the 9 speed transmission??? You guys at TFL still do not understand this concept. Titan/Nissan could have put a 5::60 diff in the Titan and it makes no difference because they would just build the 9 speed transmission differently and the end game at the wheels would be the same gd thing. Diff size only makes a difference if its hooked to the same transmission, otherwise stop acting like it makes a diff-erence.
Good review. Any of the trucks Jamal wants will more than tow 5k. Get the one you like Jamal and have a ball! You can add upgrades like rear airbags and sway control bars for the trailer if you want. I will say the Nissan is a more reliable and good looking truck.
I like the XD gasser and would argue its the most versatile truck on the road. I upgraded after 3 yrs with ‘17 reg Titan and wouldn’t look back. Gmc/Chevy’s are nice, but after 8 yrs where i live they are rusty which is unacceptable, and the 3/4 tons ride like lumber wagons as a daily driver.
You guys in usa are the only ones who think chevys arent reliable wtf , people in the middle east hate fords and rams , sticking with toyotas and GMCs (more than chevys) i really dont get it whats the deal with you americans , off roading GMCs and Toyotas are superior , reliability ? More than any other cars / trucks , price wise , chevys are the best when it comes to prices We dont have tundras or titans but we have the toyota LC79 pick up and the Patrol y61 pickup with v6 vtc 4.8 , and trust once you try those you’ll spit on the tundra and titan (and ofc fords and rams)
7G6_6 my thoughts exactly. if i had a 4 year GM truck that was giving me enough problems that i was thinking about selling it no way i’d consider the same brand again for another $50k+.
Jamal. Two reasons you should stay away from GM trucks. 1. Mechanically its the same as your 2016, which have you problems with. A 4 year old vehicle should NOT be having problems already. 2. You mentioned considering a 2500 GM truck. 1 major problem with that truck. ITS FUGLY!!!!!!
Exactly. A 4 year old vehicle should not give you any issues at all. I have a few trucks, and none of mine have given me any issues at all. 2 of them are older than 4 years old, and one of them has more than 150k miles, and it still runs beautifully. I'd ditch the GM, and get the Titan, because GM'S have the tendency of being unreliable.
I may be wrong (not the first time lol) but wasn't the only engine change was DFM and adding a 10 speed transmission? GM seems to have issues, in the past, producing new computer controlled technologies in their vehicles. I'd be very cautious until those technologies have been proven in the real world. For example, cooling issues already with the new 3.0 i6 duramax diesel.
Excuse my bad English folks. I purchase a brand new Titan sv 2017. At 17000 kilometres, the engine begin knocking. At 24000 kilometres, in June 2019, Nissan replace my motor (short block). Now this month at 35000 kilometres my motor knocking again. It is always the cylinder number 7 who is problematic. Real epidemic trouble. In my small town we are 3/3 with this trouble. On Facebook pages, I’ve seen A LOT of cases, I see guys who are on third motor on 2018 model. Also see people with this problem on 2019 model (Titan, armada.) Nissan seems to don’t have a clue about this problem. The 7 speed transmission on 16-19’ model doesn’t works well too, and seems to be change very often . Long story short, run for your life, you can see a video of my titan knocking on my profile. I swear to god, I don’t beat the truck at all really lite works sometimes.
I had a mazdaspeed3 with the turbo and that thing gunned up bad ( direct injection) if I purchased a new titan I would install a catch can to help with that carbon build up
My new 2020 nissan titan shakes at speed between 65 and 72mph. I put 2 sets of new tires on this thing and it still shakes. I had to buy the tires because Bayou nissan where I bought the truck nor the nissan corpation would replace them. Even though the truck had sit on their lot for over a year and I was told by another nissan dealership the tires had flat spots. I was told by the dealership, the tires were not under warranty. I was told Nissan Customer care it was normal for the truck to shake at those speed. What a ridiculous response. Now, I see why their sales are declining and they stopped trying to sell trucks in Canada.
If you're gonna tow just twice a month for your camper, you do city driving and want something that is good in off road, Pro 4x I've driven my brother's 2014 and it rips. He's towed an old disco II with no problem and it was a sv 2WD. If the person wants to save some money, they can look for pre owned ones babied by the previous owners
I would agree the Pro4x is probably the better choice if you need off road ability. Also in terms of good deals, I just scored about $16k offa power wagon
A huge issue to consider in your purchase is, where and who is the dealer. If there is no local or acceptable dealer, to take care of your truck, maintenance warrantee act, I wouldn't buy it no matter what other attributes it has.
Just bought the 2023 Nissan titan platinum reserve I got rid of my 2021 Ford F150 Eco boost just because too many recalls and they haven’t Fix a lot the stuff they back ordered seems like they don’t care about their customers either anymore make me go back to a Japanese truck was going for a Toyota but with all that engine issues went to Nissan and I’m happy with this Nissan V8 for a lot of reliability for a long time🎉
Love the channel! Was offered a great deal on a 2019 Pro4X with luxury package for $52k, near $20k off sticker. Now I’m concerned about the 7 speed transmission. You say it’s not good vs the 9 speed?
Stay away from the Nissan 5.6L Jamal. NTSB19-057. Problems with scoring of cylinder 7. Short-blocks replaced also due to scoring of cylinders 3 and 5 because of insufficient oiling to the lower part of the pistons.

If I were to ever consider buying a Titan XD, I would never think of it without first comparing it to any of the other real HD trucks! ALL have more power an capacity! At comparable price when buying just the standard engines, it’s only Ford with the base 6.2 had less HP. If it were me? I’d seriously consider buying a new Chevy HD, especially if needing to tow anywhere near or above 5,000 lbs. with a couple adults, pets, with everything needed for a week at least of camping travel. If you’re worried about reliability, I’d get a good extended bumper to bumper warranty that covers the life of the loan.
Do you think ford has fixed the f150 5.0L with all the noise and oil consumption in the 2018 to 2020 model engine my 17 5.0L didn’t have that problem . So I’m looking at Nissan or toyota I want to stay with a V8
Pretty sure the XD axle is bigger than the regular Titan. The XD also has a 4.08 ratio vs the regular Titan 3.69. The Titan 5.6 is a little less powerful but a much better engine than the GM 6.2 purely because of the silly Active fuel management. When GM can keep the lifters from failing then it can be considered a great engine. Also the Titan with a 3.69 is PLENTY STOUT for Towing. We are talking about a 9 speed trans. Not a 4 speed.
D. Ppl Back in February I bought a brand new 2019 Titan SL Midnight edition. The ride is great on smooth paved asphalt, but the suspension hates concrete roads. At highway speeds the truck can be as smooth as glass and quiet enough to put you to sleep. I drive back and forth to work and never tow so it works great for me. They had a lot of rebates and discounted the truck well below the MSRP over 10k+. I really like my truck and personally think the Titan is underrated in the truck world.
Brandon Welch thanks for the insight, I’ve always liked the Titan since they came out in 2004. Just curious what other trucks did you look at before you got the Titan?
D. Ppl I test drove a 2020 Raptor, 2020 Ram Limited, and I owned for my trade in a 2013 Raptor. Hands down the suspension on the 2013 Raptor I loved, but my family is growing so I had to give up one of my hobbies. I still have my other play toys, just won’t be going off-road anymore.
Brandon Welch hey buddy thanks again you’ve been a lot of help. I’ve been going back and forth with the Titan and the Ram myself, I like the fact that you don’t see to many around unlike the big three.
Don't buy now unless you have to. Wait a few months. When the factories are back up to full capacity, there will be huge discounts to clear out an overload of existing inventory.
Interior of the Titan is much nicer materials, feel and look than late model Chevys. The reliability of the Nissan is head and shoulders above gm and ram.
I would just stick with the nissan the new gmc and silverados love them but they have so many problems, my co worker brought her new chevy in to the shop like 5-7times now with in like 2-4months now just crazy how many times it went in and I warned her don't bought till chevy really has fixed up most of the problems
I like the new Titan but honestly unable to find any good deals like you mentioned. Whats exactly a good deal according to you guys? Lol the best deals i am seeing are with F150's stx or XLT with fx4 package. I am looking to buy a new truck but my budget is around $35k. Interested in f150, trailboss, titan, or ram. Any suggestions?
My 2018 xlt fx4 with the 3.5 has been giving me a ton of problems. Whenever it rains or when it’s damp. And sometimes just out of nowhere I lose all functions of traction control, abs, hill assist, airbag, and truck goes into limp mode. Have to floor it and wait 5 seconds for it to move with the steering wheel straight. When the wheel is turned expect to get t boned. It’s been in the shop 2 times both times for 2 weeks plus. And now they won’t offer me a loaner cause the dealership I leased it from closed. In other words lease is up in December and I am looking into the pro4x rebel and the AT4
Yeah people say now is a great time to buy, thats cool but I haven't seen big enough price drops yet. Modern vehicles got WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. Time to correct back to reasonable prices.
This new Titan is a huge upgraded previous generation looked so bland. 2020 is nice looking love the exterior design refreshed on everything besides F150 this is coming from a long time loyal Nissan owner would buy the Titan in a heartbeat. The Ram 1500 is another great truck and Sierra is gorgeous love pickups they are now becoming the anti-luxury of automobiles many years ago they were bland but ran forever unless don't beat them up.
fuel is cheap and smaller trucks are only fractionally more efficient... i personally would want a lower truck like an El Camino but that is never going to happen.
@@bendino9016 well, fuel is cheap today but you buy a truck for a decade not for a week. Indont even mean a smaller truck but rather a same truck with smaller engine. Smaller truck would also do the trick as savings slowly add up overtime. Also smaller truck are better on the tight trails and daily life.
Got a 2016 Titan XD truck has been great. I have the rare opportunity to take trucks apart in auto body. As soon as GM stops putting Chinese parts on their vehicles I might consider one. Yup every other part I take off from them made in China...total crapola The Titan made in USA has loads of US built parts.
Upgrading would mean buying another truck that is not a Nissan product. If you buy another Nissan you are still buying a POS. Even getting a Ram would be an upgrade.
I could not talk myself into waiting and buying the 2020 Titan when I was shopping this past winter. I just can't trust an new, unproven JATCO transmission like that. It will have to be out a few years before I take a look at the Titan again. As good as it is, I would also prefer multi-port injection in that engine.
Ram looks good but not durable. So looks aren’t everything. And no I don’t own a Nissan I own a 19 Ram and a 19 gmc for all those brand loyalist who cry for everything.
Don't buy the Titan! I work at a Nissan dealership in Texas. They all leak from the upper oil pan. They start leaking around 35k-40k miles. Also the Titan & Armada share the same engine and we needed to replace a few motors as well. One of them was at 83 miles! If you still want the Titan that looks good in your driveway, go for it. I recommend not the Titan!
The "updated" infotainment is really an overstatement. Nissan needs to get it together. Ford and Ram have better systems by a good margin and they are both about to get further updates to those systems. Nissan is stuck in the past. Invest the money into infotainment Nissan! There are all kinds of market studies that show the importance of tech in automobiles. The Titan is mostly a good pack but between lacking tech, low res cameras, dash buttons that are starting to fall behind farm equipment it's no wonder people aren't buying these trucks in volumes. Seems stout though, the 5.6L and 9 speed definitely aren't any issue. The climate controls are straight out of my wife's 2014 Altima.
Bought my Titan new in 04, 16 years later and 200k miles, still runs strong, with about 1100 in total repairs in 16 years.
zyou8er very comical!!

Ronald Poley The titan on normal gas will make 390hp and 400lbs of tq and on premium only then it makes 400hp and 417lb of tq.
If knocking occurs, use a gasoline rated at 93 octane as soon as possible, otherwise, the engine could be damaged.”
This I understand is from the GM manual. It sounds like you may have no choice but to run 93 octane.
Ronald Poley I mean I agree, I own a 2007 SE and a 2020 Titan Pro-4x now. Premium is noticeable.
Cheers for being honest and not bashing the Titan like Roman and Tommy.
Titan had more standard features and a better price than the ram.
love the interior of titan, i think better than ram
Exactly the same reason I bought mine. Got a bunch more options for thousands less and a better warranty.
Daniel Swanson Me too the ram had fancy red accents but I love the clean look of the Titan
Go for the titan half ton!
Sean F so the Nissan leases well?! That’s awesome. Do they lease the XD? I wanted to lease a power wagon and was told good luck with that
@@jefferychambrovichjr6681 I'm not sure what the lease deal is on the XD but I'm sure it's the same promotion.
Wouldn’t buy a GM product. Love my Titan.
@@NathanDAdlen What do you think about doing both brake torquing and "normal" launches? I'm interested in more data!!
Thank you Nathan... Good video this morning☺
The regular Titan seems to have less suspension and brake issues compared to the Titan XD.
Currently have a 19 Titan midnight. Already test drove a 2020 pro 4x and I’m upgrading to one of those as soon as I can
Get the XD, kind of like a half ton but better. You can even get a crew cab with the full size 8 foot bed.
Kevin Barry it’s a 6.5’ bed. There is no option for an 8’ bed.
Rick Tatorship unless they changed very recently, it is available on the XD
Kevin Barry it was on the 2016-2019 XD’s but only on the single cabs. The king cabs and crew cabs only came with the 6.5 bed. There was never an 8’ bed on the crew or king cabs. Remember, this a 3/4 ton truck frame on 1/2 ton axles. An 8’ bed and crew cab would be too much for the truck to carry any kind of payload.
Rick Tatorship I stand corrected. And, that sucks
Kevin Barry it also sucks that the XD has a small 26 gallon fuel tank. For such a heavy truck, it needs at least 35 gallons or more.
Which Japanese truck will get redesigned first ? Tundra/Tacoma or titan/frontier. One thing we can all agree on is. Ridge lines not a truck.
Just curious, is the Tesla Cyber Truck a truck?
@@AlaskanSnowLeopard no
Frontier I think in 2021
Titan got redone in 16 and the Frontier is due next year. No idea with the Toyotas.
@@ramirotorres7191 Okay, thanks for your input.
XD also has upgraded brakes which is important. Also, the best warranty 5 year 100k miles. Seems like Jamal already has problems with a GM product. Why step on the same rake twice?
The normal Titan has that huge warranty too doesn't it? (Agree on why he would go back to GM after being burned...)
@@rkalla Correct. All Titans have 5/100K
Toyota is known for their infamous rusty frames and rust recalls
I do like the look of Nissan Titan
I’m enjoying my Nissan Titan. You can get great discounts now. But, it’s worth mentioning those discounts won’t be as dramatic for the 2020 Pro 4X package. It will still be a great value compared to the GM trucks.
I have no idea why, but Arizona and Nevada Nissan dealers have massive discounts on the Pro4X’s...we ended up buying one from out of state and having it shipped to California and saved like $10k from our local dealers. Good luck. We love our 2020 Pro4X
I think it looks way better!
Buy the Titan!
@@huggiebear1122 Same trans as a Mercedes? LOL! Even more reason to stay away!
Save your money Jamal. Sell your Chevy and wait for the guy down the street to go bankrupt and buy his new truck
Funny in that this might be true but not so to people in that situation. This will happen to some. Changing times coming. Best wishes to all.
Ron Dail people have choices to make. Status is expensive
Sadly....I agree. People who have made themselves financially leveraged are going to eat it big time in the next 6 months. Lots of guys that work hourly technical trade jobs, pay for their toys with overtime work. If they still have their job, it is highly likely they aren't getting much overtime.
I’ll be keeping my Cummins powered XD Platinum Reserve.
joenissan your not bragging haha
You guys are the best!
Lol if you owned a gm product that’s giving you issues why go back lol titan is more then reliable
7G6_6, or even better, get a Toyota Tundra!
Titan has a direct injection engine. Good luck keeping it clean. Tundra is superior.
name Direct injection is the new age.
You guys in usa are the only ones who think chevys arent reliable wtf , people in the middle east hate fords and rams , sticking with toyotas and GMCs (more than chevys) i really dont get it whats the deal with you americans , off roading GMCs and Toyotas are superior , reliability ? More than any other cars / trucks , price wise , chevys are the best when it comes to prices
We dont have tundras or titans but we have the toyota LC79 pick up and the Patrol y61 pickup with v6 vtc 4.8 , and trust once you try those you’ll spit on the tundra and titan (and ofc fords and rams)
Walter Prinsen. Mechanically it’s the same? Might wanna look that up
What about the direct injection engine getting clogged with carbon build up?
I had a mazdaspeed3 with the turbo and that thing gunned up bad ( direct injection) if I purchased a new titan I would install a catch can to help with that carbon build up
For a $45,000++ truck they should add port injection. Nissan knows better.
Simple, you add a catch can as soon as you buy it, problem solved. Direct Injection or Multi-Port is far better for performance.
The Chivy won’t last.. long term .
Lol the Chevys don't last short term either.
The Titan has more than just the electronic locker, it also has ABLS on the front which the Trail Boss can't compare to.
If you're gonna tow just twice a month for your camper, you do city driving and want something that is good in off road, Pro 4x
I've driven my brother's 2014 and it rips.
You should stick to anything with an LS/LT in it...
A huge issue to consider in your purchase is, where and who is the dealer. If there is no local or acceptable dealer, to take care of your truck, maintenance warrantee act, I wouldn't buy it no matter what other attributes it has.
Thanks for the video.
Just bought the 2023 Nissan titan platinum reserve I got rid of my 2021 Ford F150 Eco boost just because too many recalls and they haven’t
Fix a lot the stuff they back ordered seems like they don’t care about their customers either anymore make me go back to a Japanese truck was going for a Toyota but with all that engine issues went to Nissan and I’m happy with this Nissan V8 for a lot of reliability for a long time🎉
I want one in the king cab configuration for sure
Love the channel! Was offered a great deal on a 2019 Pro4X with luxury package for $52k, near $20k off sticker. Now I’m concerned about the 7 speed transmission. You say it’s not good vs the 9 speed?
Stay away from the Nissan 5.6L Jamal. NTSB19-057. Problems with scoring of cylinder 7. Short-blocks replaced also due to scoring of cylinders 3 and 5 because of insufficient oiling to the lower part of the pistons.
You are uttering total rubbish.
Is this true?

TitanTalk forum and everything problem the op mentioned is listed. Lots of problems with that 5.6L engine.
Can’t tow anything when it’s broken down...get the Nissan.
I got a 2019 Titan pro-4x recently has anyone noticed any issues yet? Its been extremely good so far first new truck in a long time.
Honestly was thinking about a Titan!
Do you think ford has fixed the f150 5.0L with all the noise and oil consumption in the 2018 to 2020 model engine my 17 5.0L didn’t have that problem . So I’m looking at Nissan or toyota I want to stay with a V8
non XD Titan has 3.69 rear axle ratio, and XD has 4.06 rear axle ratio , same engine, same trans,
Yup just beefier frame and braking.
They have different wheel pattern different steering rack and lots of other stuff what is Nathan talking about lol
Just buy it.
The more you buy, the more you save.
That 390/400 horsepower really shows on the highway. Hit that gas when you really want to, and you will feel that 5.6L V8 come alive.
How is the ride in the Nissan Titan as a daily driver? And does the trim model matter when it comes to ride and handling?
I know I always forget but could you take a truck with3.23 gears and one 3.42 what is better gas mileage and pros cons
"3.23"
better gas mileage
better top speed
"3.42"
better towing
better acceleration
Don't buy now unless you have to. Wait a few months. When the factories are back up to full capacity, there will be huge discounts to clear out an overload of existing inventory.
Go with the duramax.
Interior of the Titan is much nicer materials, feel and look than late model Chevys. The reliability of the Nissan is head and shoulders above gm and ram.
I’ll get a used titan xd prox4 wit the cummins but thats just
THE GMC AT4 VS NISSAN TITAN 4X- ? Or the 4X FRONTIER VS THE BISON ?
They just did the trail boss and it’s pretty much the same as an at4
I would just stick with the nissan the new gmc and silverados love them but they have so many problems, my co worker brought her new chevy in to the shop like 5-7times now with in like 2-4months now just crazy how many times it went in and I warned her don't bought till chevy really has fixed up most of the problems
I like the new Titan but honestly unable to find any good deals like you mentioned. Whats exactly a good deal according to you guys? Have to floor it and wait 5 seconds for it to move with the steering wheel straight. When the wheel is turned expect to get t boned. It’s been in the shop 2 times both times for 2 weeks plus. And now they won’t offer me a loaner cause the dealership I leased it from closed. In other words lease is up in December and I am looking into the pro4x rebel and the AT4
Wait to buy anything until the economy is stable and prices have tumbled, and they're starting to tumble.
Why do you need a big V8 to tow lousy 5000 pounds where you can do this with a much smaller and efficient truck?
fuel is cheap and smaller trucks are only fractionally more efficient... i personally would want a lower truck like an El Camino but that is never going to happen.
The interior the Nissan Titan looks just like the Ford F-150 interior
Yes!!!!
The Titan’s biggest problem is Nissan’s shameful pricing structure.
The engine design is old and will have a lot of carbon build up due to direct injection.
You need a f250
No no no....get a new Honda Ridgeline HD....😲
Nathan, upgrade your camera!!! Please. And adjust it so your chin isn't at the bottom of the screen 🤣🤣
RacingfortheSon hes using a nokia 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sane?! Sane left town 2 weeks ago, and took reason with him....
With consideration to Nissan's current financial situation I would avoid them.
Disagree they have plenty of cash reserves.
@@scott8238 Their CEO embezzled and fled Japan in a crate.... doesn't exactly exude confidence.
YOU should upgrade. For me, it would be a downgrade...
